Up for auction is this 2000 Porsche 986 Boxster S finished in Speed Yellow over a black interior. Marking the launch year of the original Boxster S, this 2000 example comes equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission paired with a 3.2L flat-six engine and features upgraded 18” Carrera wheels, a cold air intake, and a performance chip. Under the care of its second owner in Colorado, this 986 is now being offered for auction showing approximately 44k miles on the odometer.
This 986 was ordered in the classic Porsche color of Speed Yellow and rides on a set of upgraded 18” 996 Carrera wheels dressed in Continental tires. Compared to a standard Boxster, the S-model features dual exhaust tips and red-painted brake calipers. The rear emblem has been removed and clear European-style side marker lenses have been fitted along with protective front grille screens and a removable yellow model designation on the rear spoiler. One small dent is depicted below the driver’s side door and the seller describes the black convertible top to be in great shape, additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The black partial leather interior includes electrically adjustable seats, a three-spoke steering wheel, black carpet mats with red Porsche lettering, and upgraded aluminum pedals. Some signs of wear are present on the driver's seat and the seller reports the radio is currently inoperable.
The original Boxster S features a 3.2L flat-six engine producing as much as 250 HP and 225 lb.-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The Boxster S also received more sport-oriented suspension tuning compared to its standard counterpart as well as upgraded brakes with cross-drilled discs and four-piston monobloc calipers. The seller reports the car to have been modified with an engine performance chip and cold air intake, while service records are said to be available showing standard routine maintenance throughout the years.
This sale will include the original owner's manuals and a clean title.

@robmsales Hello,
There have been no metal shavings in the oil filters as they have been checked. There also is no oil leaking presently from the vehicle.
There are full maintenance records that come with this car in a file folder as well. So far everything has been sound and in order.
Hi, Thanks for your response. Have you cut open the oil filter on the last few oil changes to see if there was metal, and is there any oil leaking under the Boxster?
2000 to 2005 have the highest rate of IMS problems of all Boxster built- and there is no problem until you have one- then it lights out most of the time the cost of repair is more than the car is worth- that why most owners check the oil filter or the have the oil sent in to make sure it okay.
So the same question- have you cut open the oil filter ?

@robmsales Hello, the IMS bearing and other things you asked have not been done. There has been no problems so no need to do them. The bearing issue only affects 1-5% of these cars per Porsche service dept. There also was never a recall, so hence again not necessarily needed.
The back window is in great condition as shown in the photos.
The color is speedster yellow which is a more rare color to find.

Hi- Just checked your Boxster S and I did not see anything about addressing the IMS or the rear main seal in your comets and also the clutch and TO bearing- has that been taken care of?
I am sure the rear window is the plastic one that can with these years - what kind of conduction is that in-Nice looking Boxster S I like the yellow a lot- Thanks Rob
