Up for auction is this 2000 Porsche 986 Boxster S presented in Dark Blue Metallic over a black and grey leather interior. Designed with open-air driving in mind, the agile mid-engine Boxster model was introduced in 1997 as Porsche’s flagship 2-seater roadster. Marking the first year of the Boxster S, this 2000 example was purchased by the seller from its original owner in 2015. With some major service items carried out including an IMS bearing replacement, this 2-owner Boxster S is said to be in great driving condition while showing approximately 43k miles on the odometer.
The Dark Blue Metallic finish is stated to be in good overall condition with some road going wear present. Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with recent paint meter readings. This Boxster S model can be distinguished by its silver painted lower front grilles, dual tailpipes, silver rear model designation and red brake calipers which can be seen behind the factory twist alloy wheels. These wheels come dressed in Bridgestone Potenza tires dated from 2017.
Inside, this Boxster sports a two-tone black and grey leather interior. The convertible top was replaced in 2016 and the cabin is said to be in great condition with some minor signs of wear. Factory options include a 6-speaker sound system, Automatic Braking Differential (ABD), automatic speed control and a storage box on the engine cover. An aftermarket Kenwood radio has been installed and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be working properly.
This Boxster S carries a naturally aspirated 3.2 L flat-six engine rated at 250 HP. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission making for a 0-60 time of approximately 5.5 seconds. A major service was carried out prior to the seller’s purchase in 2015 which included the following items:
