Available here for auction is a 2000 Toyota MR2 Spyder 5-speed. For 23 years, Toyota’s "mid-ship run-about 2-seater" was one of the most affordable mid-engined sports cars one could have. Having been designed as a proper mid-engine sports car from the ground up, combined with Toyota's reputation for reliability, the MR2, like the venerable Mazda Miata, has been a mainstay at racetracks across the country since introduced. This third generation (W30) MR2 is perhaps one most original and lowest mileage examples available on the market. Showing only 2-owners on its CARFAX report (both owners were husband and wife), this one-family from new has spent its entire life garage-kept. Showing just under 29K-miles on the odometer, this MR2 is being offered by its selling dealer out of the North Shore of Massachusetts.
The Solar yellow finish shows very nicely and is reported to us by the seller to be in excellent condition (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). The convertible top is said to display normal age-related wear. The car rides on original 15” wheels wrapped in Kumho Ecsta. A keyless entry and remote start system is said to have been added.
Inside, the black cloth interior is said to be flawless, detailed images supporting this are provided in the photo gallery. Amenities include air conditioning, a leather-wrapped shift knob and steering wheel, and an original stereo with CD/Cassette player. All features are noted to be functioning properly and the interior is free of modifications.
Power comes by way of a mid-mounted 1.8L inline-four featuring Toyota’s ‘VVT-i’ variable valve timing system and producing 138 HP and 126 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle propelling the 2200lb Spyder to 60 from a standstill in about 7 seconds. Mechanically the car is said to be original throughout, without any modifications. The most recent service covers a routine oil change dated November 2020, receipt provided in the photo gallery.
Included in this sale will be two sets of keys and a valet key, spare tire, pre-delivery documents, original pocket manuals, original window sticker and a clean title. This MR2 is likely the cleanest and lowest mileage example available, collectors need not hesitate when bidding.

Yes, it was a simple repair. The Mass Airflow sensor required cleaning or replacement. The sensor was replaced and is now functioning properly.

Seller: One repair invoice shows “engine light was on”. Also, the CarFax shows ‘failed inspection” on one of the dates...have these issues been addressed and what was the cause? thanks. (btw: beautiful MR).
