Up for auction is this 2001 AM General Hummer H1 finished in Silver Metallic over a Cloud Gray leather interior. Introduced in 1992, the Hummer H1 is the civilian equivalent of the United States military’s M998 HMMWV (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle) or Humvee, which saw large-scale deployment during the Gulf War. One of 869 examples built for the model year, this H1 was originally sold in Washington and acquired by the current ownership out of Florida in 2019. It was customized during prior ownership with a slant-back painted hardtop, Fuel wheels, 37” BF Goodrich mud tires, a Predator light bar, a WARN winch, a snorkel, and a custom sound system. Showing just over 75k miles on the odometer, this H1 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Massachusetts.
The H1 and military Humvee shared the same major body panels and were produced on the same assembly line in Mishawaka, Indiana. This Hummer was ordered in Silver Metallic (S15) and features a custom removable paint-matched hardtop. Other exterior details include a custom front bumper and brush guard with a WARN winch, a Predator light rack with a 50” led bar and dual auxiliary lights, a Centri intake snorkel, and a rear tow hitch with a lighting adapter. The seller notes light oxidation on the rear of the body, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. This example rides on 20” Fuel Hostage wheels mounted with 37” BF Goodrich mud terrain tires from 2019.
The interior is upholstered in Cloud Gray leather with decorative wood trim. Driver’s amenities include air conditioning, power windows, power locks, EZ Kool tinted glass, and deluxe heat & sound insulation. A perforated leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel has been fitted along with a custom audio system including Rockford Fosgate speakers, a custom amplifier setup, a Sony head unit, and four 9" monitors in the headrests.
The Hummer H1 is powered by a 6.5L turbo-diesel GM V8, which produced up to 195 HP and 430 lb.-ft of torque when new. All four wheels are driven by a 4-speed GM 4L80-E four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The H1 also features four-wheel independent suspension, full-time four-wheel drive, inboard brakes, portal axles, and a high-mounted radiator. The seller reports a remote engine start system and new tires were installed in 2019, and new coolant hoses, a new steering shaft, and a new fuel tank and fuel filter were installed in January of 2021. Modifications include an aftermarket exhaust system and a Centri pre-cleaner intake filter and snorkel.
This sale will include a clean title. One of the most robust 4x4s available for road-going use, this customized 2001 Hummer H1 makes a perfect all-terrain vehicle for any adventurous driver.

The underside photos are not helping the seller .... they are too far away and shoe typical high corrosion rate of a vehicle that resides in the salt states. The paint around the rivets is also suspect; again, better photos or comments from the seller would help. I am ready to bid but cannot convince myself that this is not a rust nightmare. It has the look that is highly acceptable, but the rust issues remain the negatives.

Can you post some underside pics? Also, how extensive is the corrosion? I see there is quite a bit around the sides by where the top attaches but how are the rivet areas on the rest of the truck?
