Available for auction is this 2001 BMW 740iL finished in Titanium Silver Metallic over a gray Montana leather interior and equipped with the desirable Sport Package. This E38 7-Series represents the third generation of BMW's flagship luxury sedan and was produced for the U.S. from 1994 until 2001 with an LCI (Life Cycle Impulse, or facelift) during the 1999 model year. Showing approximately 93k miles on the odometer, this vehicle has remained single-family owned until the seller's recent acquisition and is now being offered for auction out of California.

Finished in Titanium Silver Metallic, this 740iL is a long-wheelbase model equipped with the desirable Sport Package which adds 18" M Parallel wheels, electronic damping control, and Shadowline exterior trim. Additional equipment includes Xenon headlights, a power sunroof, and revised facelift-specific headlights and taillights. The seller notes some minor paint fade on the roof and trunk, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The interior is appointed with grey Montana leather upholstery and Sport Package Vavona Redwood trim. Factory amenities include rear side window sunshades, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a navigation system. Instrumentation includes a 140-MPH speedometer, temperature gauge, tachometer, fuel gauge, and a vacuum-actuated fuel economy gauge mounted behind a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel. The seller notes the remote key fobs need to be replaced.

Up to 282 HP and 324 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels by a naturally aspirated 4.4-liter V8 mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission. Stopping power is handled by front and rear disc brakes, and Michelin Pilot Sport all-season tires are mounted at all four corners. A minor oil leak has been identified and the seller recommends a wheel alignment and brake service be completed by the next owner.

This sale will include owner's manuals and a clean title.

    @Nicknaber1

    There is currently no rattle in the motor.
    No I wasn’t provided any records but I am sure the shops who serviced the vehicle have it.
    I am not sure if its been done or not in its previous ownership but its very possible as I was lead to believe it was serviced pretty religiously.

    Do you have the records for the timing chain guide replacement? TIA

    @whitetwinturbo

    Yes I realized that, somehow I mixed up the Porsche color was a BMW color. Titanium Silver it is!

    In any case I wanna use this opportunity to tell anybody if they have any questions to contact me. I have advertised the car to my best ability with full transparency. I have sold over 5 cars on BaT and other competing auctions sites - never a disappointed buyer.

    I am only selling the car because it was a bucket list purchase for me and I got to experience it. In addition the funds from this sale will goto my other project car BMW that seems to just cost me money needlessly since purchase.
    Buy the car and buy the seller! Bid early, bid often.

    @pcarmarket
    Its Arctic Silver Metallic not Titanium Silver Metallic.
    Please correct it.
