The limited-production BMW E52 Z8 features a timeless design by Chris Bangel, Henrik Fisker, and Scott Lempert as a tribute to the legendary BMW 507 Roadster of the 1950s. The largely hand-built aluminum frame houses an S62 4.9-liter V8 engine connected to a 6-speed manual transmission. Finished in Topaz Blue Metallic (364) over a Crema leather (P1CT) interior, this well-preserved 2001 Z8 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Ohio with just under 4k miles on the odometer.
This example is finished in Topaz Blue Metallic (Topasblau, 364) paired with a tan-colored soft top. A body-colored hard top will accompany the sale as well. Designed in collaboration with Chris Bangle and Henrik Fisker, the Z8’s aluminum bodywork carries inspiration from the BMW 507 including a long-hood design, side gills appointed with BMW roundels, a slightly pointed front bumper, and 507-style rounded headlights integrated into the front grille. Details include slim taillights with neon brake lights and turn signals, xenon headlights, and model-specific 18” split-spoke alloy wheels. It rides on a set of like-new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. The seller adds that factory headlight replacements were installed in 2016. The interior is upholstered with Crema (P1CT) leather accented and body-colored panels. The driver-focused cabin presents a center-mounted instrument cluster slightly tilted toward the driver to offer an unimpeded view of the hood and road ahead. All knobs, switches, and primary touchpoints are sculpted from aluminum. Additional factory equipment includes an automatic anthracite-lined soft top with a leather boot cover, cruise control, electric and heated sport seats, a power telescoping steering column, and a Harmon Kardon sound system. The seller adds that the rearview mirror was upgraded with auto-dimming technology, and the upper dashboard was replaced with a new factory panel, detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The S62 5.0-liter V8 engine is equipped with Double-VANOS variable valve timing, quad hollow camshafts, lightweight aluminum construction, and individual throttle bodies. The S62 was factory rated at 394 HP and 368 lb.-ft of torque, sending power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission and a mechanical limited-slip differential. A factory Z8 Performance Package was installed in June of 2016, including a strut brace and related components. The seller adds that a recent service in 2022 includes all time-based fluids and filters as well as the fuel pump and filter.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a clean title, a window sticker, a hard top, a collection of documentation, a tool kit, a first-aid kit, two remote keys, one standard key, and one valet key.

@rnak Thank you for your questions. The paint meter readings are accurate and consistent with other low-mileage, collector grade Z8’s we have had through the EAG program. There are no signs of wet sanding. There are no issues with the clear coat or any questionable areas anywhere on the paint of this Z8. Please see the condition disclosure photos for all noted flaws in the paint. There is no signs of previous paintwork on the plastic components. The tires were replaced with Michelin Pilot Super Sports by EAG in 2016 at 3,560 miles. The tires show no wear or signs of aging or cracking. The headlights were replaced with OE replacements by EAG in 2016 due to time-based fogging. Additional questions welcome
Hi Seller- Paint meter readings indicate some wet sanding or heavy polishing. Any records on that and what the reason was? Are there any areas where paint is breaking down or showing any signs of the clear worn into the color? Any evidence of paint work on plastic parts? Are the tires original? Were the headlights replaced due to fogging or other reasons?

Thank you for your question. Both these items are common Z8 items that occur based on time, not mileage. The headlights get foggy due to a coating inside the headlight lens and the dash leather becomes unattached near the windshield because the adhesive looses its strength over time. Both issues are discussed in detail on the Z8 message boards. EAG replaced the headlights and upper dash with genuine OE BMW parts during our last ownership.

Yes, the previous owner did preserve the car in a car capsule bubble, which he retained. A like-new WeatherTech car cover is included in the sale. The most recent owner that we sold the car to back in 2016 only enjoyed the car during nice weather and never driven during rain or inclement weather. The undercarriage is incredibly clean. Be sure to check out the photos! On the rear bumper, there reflections of our photo studio and car turntable. Additional photos of the rear bumper and stainless door jams have been uploaded.

Lovely car. Can the seller please include more pics of the rear bumper. Can’t tell if it is dirty on the closeups or road rashed. Picture 33 looks like a gouge in paint to the right of the reflector.
