We are pleased to offer this 2001 Honda S2000 AP1 finished in Spa Yellow Pearl over a black interior. Introduced with innovative DOHC-VTEC technology, double wishbone suspension, and a 6-speed manual gearbox with a limited-slip differential, the S2000 was one of the most advanced Japanese sports cars of its day and was especially notable for its high-revving 2.0 L inline-4 engine offering an impressive 120 HP output per liter. This three-owner example was acquired by the seller in 2008 and features a factory hardtop, front and rear spoilers, and the rare factory optional magazine holder. Now with just under 24k miles showing on the odometer, this well-preserved S2000 is now being offered for auction by its longtime owner out of New Jersey.
This example is finished in Spa Yellow Pearl, a color introduced for the 2001 mode; year, and comes with a black power-retractable soft top and removable color-matched aluminum hardtop. Front and rear spoilers were also equipped from the factory along with optional black chrome badges. The seller reports the car to have always been garage-kept throughout their ownership and notes minimal signs of road-going wear. Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The factory 16” five-spoke wheels come dressed in Goodyear Eagle GT tires showing date codes from 2010.
Inside, you will find a black interior with a sporty 3-spoke leather steering wheel, aluminum pedals and shift knob, an engine start button, and a rare factory magazine holder. The car is also equipped with air conditioning, power windows, a full-digital instrument display, and an original Honda CD radio. The naturally aspirated 2.0 L F20C inline 4-cylinder engine features DOHC-VTEC variable valve timing and an output of 240 HP. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission with a Torsen limited-slip differential. Other factory performance features include double-wishbone suspension, electrically assisted power steering, and four-wheel disc brakes with ABS. Some service history is available on CARFAX, and the seller adds that the car had only ever required standard routine maintenance throughout their ownership.
