Up for auction at no-reserve is this 2001 Porsche 996 Carrera 4 Cabriolet finished in Black Metallic over a Savanna Beige interior. This example features a 6-speed manual transmission and aftermarket OZ wheels as well as a Vertex IMS bearing upgrade. With just under 75k miles showing on the odometer, this Carrera 4 Cabriolet is now being listed at no-reserve by its selling dealer out of Miami, FL.
The Black Metallic (L744) finish is said to be in very good condition (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). The black cabriolet top is said to be in great shape and this Carrera 4 has been upgraded with aftermarket black OZ wheels that are currently dressed in healthy Sumitomo tires.
Inside, the Savanna Beige partial leather interior is said to be in good condition with all gauges and accessories reported to be working properly. Factory features include the Comfort and Technic Packages. A short throw shifter has been installed along with an aftermarket double DIN head unit and an Alpine subwoofer in the front trunk.
The 3.4 L naturally aspirated flat-six engine is rated at 296 HP from the factory and drives the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox. This example is said to be in excellent mechanical order with a Vertex IMS bearing upgrade and a very recent rear main seal (RMS) replacement, oil change, and clutch inspection.
This sale will include a clean title. Offered at no-reserve, this Carrera 4 Cabriolet provides a truly substantial value.

@Bill930P @AtPorsche I am familiar with H & R springs-thank you for the update
@LCLESQ - I took a closer look at springs. They are H&R Sport springs. They lower the car 1" on all corners.
@Peteragati - The Carfax report is in the Gallery. There are no accidents.

Can I see a Carfax report, any accidents?

@Jabbawock911 - I've drivent the car a lot. It does not rub.
@Jabbawock911 - I'll try and verify the brand of the springs tomorrow. The car looks to me like its been lowered about an inch on all four corners.
Do you know if eibach springs cause any rubbing?! And also do you know by how much it was lowered?! Thanks
@Rudyrojas1969 - it does.
@LCLESQ - I think they are Eibach, but not sure. I don't have any documentation on them. It doesn't need an alignment.
Does the wing come up after 55 mhp?
@Bill930P @AtPorsche can you be more specific-are these aftermarket lowering springs?If so, was there a 4 wheel alignment done when installed/is there any documentation of the install-Thank you
@LCLESQ - it has springs.
Hello-the suspension on this car seems to have been lowered; i.e., the car sits lower than stock-can you advise? Thanks

Thank you. Yes, liner is not a huge project or cost. Thanks for photos
Additional photos have been added to the listing gallery.
@LongPlay - I have sent the requested pictures to PCar for upload. In the meantime, I can email them to anyone that's interested. Just send me your email address via the "Contact Seller" tab.
The back part of the headliner is a little bit untidy. This is common in 996 and 997 cabs of this age, as the material is very delicate. They don't hold up well as the top is raised and lowered over the years. If the new owner wants the headliner replaced, it will cost $750.
Thanks for the service record upload.
Question - can you post top and head liner pictures as well as rear of car and tailpipe shots?
Looks like a rip is visible in rear seat picture on driver side liner.

@AtPorsche. Respectfully request an upload of the RMS/IMS receipt regarding the replacement explanation you described in the comments earlier. Thank you!

@AtPorsche. Can you upload the RMS document noting the IMS replacement please?

@prfulmer - I do not have the original wheels.
@jccaro - that was a typo. The car is AWD.
Do you have the original wheels?
The description says the engine “drives the rear wheels” and yet the car is presented as a Carrera 4 ; also the brake calipers of Carrera 4s are silver and these are red; was the car converted to a rear wheel drive? And if not, why no mention of the refinishing of the calipers? Thanks.

@Bill930P @AtPorsche Thanks for the info
@LongwoodCharger - When I got the car, there was an oil leak. Upon inspection, we determined that it was likely the RMS. My plan was to replace it, along with the IMs and clutch. Once we took everything apart we noticed that the IMS and RMS had both recently been replaced with upgraded parts from Vertex. However, the RMS had not been installed correctly, and was leaking. We replaced it with a new one. We also inspected the clutch, which was fine. I have the invoice for the RMS. There is a note on it referring to the IMS.
@AtPorsche. Do you have the receipts for IMS/RMS replacements?

Great looking car!
