Providing all-wheel-drive dynamics, this 2001 Porsche 996 Carrera 4  comes finished in Lapis Blue Metallic over Savannah Beige full leather upholstery and offers a 6-speed manual transmission paired with its naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine. It was generously optioned with supple leather seats, a Sport-tuned chassis, and 18” Turbo Look wheels, along with the Comfort, Heated Seats, Technic, and Design Packages. Benefitting from an upgraded IMS bearing and recent service, this 996 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York while showing approximately 99k miles on the odometer.

The year 2001 marked the final iteration of the narrow-bodied Carrera 4, and this example comes finished in Lapis Blue Metallic (3A8). Standard features include a speed-activated rear spoiler and stainless-steel exhaust outlets. It rides on optional 18” Turbo Look wheels with colored Porsche crest center caps, which are dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ front and Pilot Sport All Season 4 rear tires. Additionally, Bi-Xenon headlamps with washers are included with the Advanced Technic Package. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing minor damage to the front end in October 2017 along with minor damage to the rear end in September 2018 & November 2019.

Inside, the driver is greeted by Savannah Beige full leather upholstery including optional supple leather seats, black floor mats with Porsche lettering, and an Alcantara headliner. The center console is finished in Arctic Silver, and the Comfort, Technic, and Design Packages were also opted for. The Comfort Package includes seats with electric height, length, backrest, and lumbar adjustment plus driver’s side memory, while the Technic Package includes a Hi-Fi sound system, onboard computer, and CD radio. The Design Package adds a host of aluminum trim. Other amenities include a 3-spoke leather steering wheel, heated front seats, automatic climate control with air-conditioning, one-touch power windows, and a power sunroof.

A naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 296 HP and 258 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH takes place in approximately 5 seconds and stopping power is derived from fixed 4-piston brakes paired with ventilated and cross-drilled rotors at each corner. An optional Sport-tuned suspension is equipped from the factory. Service history includes the installation of an LN Engineering IMS bearing kit and the replacement of the rear main seal in August 2022. Additionally, the water pump, thermostat, and drive belt were replaced in May 2023. The CARFAX report shows a total of 10 service history entries dating back to 2001.

This sale will include a clean title.

If 29 was the reserve it should not have been offered in this kind of auction.

  • Porschelover30 (registered bidder) 8 monthsago

Since I had no knowledge of the reserve price mentioning that I believe that I personally think it is near reserve or fair value in my opinion should not be an issue. If you want to limit comments to non auction related comments fine but if you are limiting these kind of comments You should make this a eBay type auction where we all bid blindly

  • Porschelover30 (registered bidder) 8 monthsago

This is a beautiful car no doubt but it has a spotty car fax and 99K miles. A 29K price is totally unrealistic.

Drop this onto an Ohlins kit and add a Fister exhaust and it will be the last 911 you'll even need. Absolutely beautiful.

  • Porschelover30 (registered bidder) 8 monthsago

The 99K miles and 3 dings on the carfax will probably prevent in from appreciating very much but with love and care it could get another 100K miles and will likely be a lot of fun especially in the NE where the new owner can have a lot of fun irrespective of the weather

@sitzlejd That was the airbag light. It has been fixed. It was the seat belt buckle. A common problem in the 996.
The buckle was replaced and it’s perfect now.

Beautiful color combo. What's the dash light on in the driving video around 1:04? It's a red circular looking light but it's too quick for me to tell what it is.

  • shamansky 8 monthsago

Bid in the amount of $15,000

  • DriverM (seller) 8 monthsago

Please note, the LN Engineering IMS kit was installed in Aug of 2022. The flywheel, clutch and rear main seal were all done at the same time.
In May of 2023, the water pump, thermostat and drive belt were replaced as well.
This is an incredibly well sorted and excellent running 996 C4. You'd be hard pressed to find a nicer, straighter and better equipped example.
If you are the winner of this car, you will not be disappointed.

  • DriverM (seller) 8 monthsago

@Zingerman82 Yes. That is the PCCM+ installed.

Beautiful car. Is that the PCCM+ classic installed?

  • WRENCH.56 (registered bidder) 8 monthsago

And, as always when I see one of these come to market, I have to comment on what a great car this is.
I own a sister to this car, but in not nearly as beautiful a color combo. Mine has roughly 130,000 miles on it and runs perfectly.
Do not fear the almost 99,000 miles on any engine that has been well cared for. They are truly robust and love to be wound up.
The C4 drivetrain is amazing. It is totally neutral and sticks at very fast cornering speeds. It inspires an almost foolish level of confidence! I hope this car finds a buyer who appreciates it and enjoys it as much as I do mine.

I viewed this car today in person, it’s elegant. Impressive and in perfect condition!

I didn’t purchase since I cannot afford a third Porsche at the moment but if you can, you should proceed.

Thanks again for the viewing and information, Mark.

@mherf Sorry but I do not have any photos of the damage. It was very minor as indicated on the carfax. The paint meter readings speak for themselves. The car shows beautifully. Only minor stone chips on the front nose as would be expected.
The car comes with a fully extensive service history that outlines Porsche dealer service for most of its life.
All accessories work as they should.

  • DriverM (seller) 8 months, 1 weekago

@Lukeduke Yes. It was sold to a dealer in Florida who had a client back out on a deal. He asked that I resell it up being a C4 and more appropriate for this market.
The car is in fantastic overall condition with no immediate needs at all.

  • mherf (registered bidder) 8 months, 1 weekago

Do all of the accessories work and function correctly? Do you have pictures of the damage before it was repaired and service records of the repairs? Do you have service records for the life of the car?

  • Lukeduke 8 months, 1 weekago

Beautiful car, was this not listed and sold within the last couple weeks?
