Up for auction at no reserve is this 2001 Porsche 996 Carrera finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a black interior.  This 2001 Coupe features a 3.4 L flat-six engine and comes factory optioned with leather front and rear seats, Xenon headlamps, and a 6-speed manual transmission.  With approximately 64k miles currently showing on the odometer, this 996 is said to be in great running order and is now being offered by its selling dealer out of Florida accompanied by original manuals, tools, a stamped service book, and a clean title.

The Arctic Silver Metallic finish is said to be in very good overall condition, free of any noteworthy imperfections.  The front bumper and partial front end are said to have been refinished at some point and CARFAX shows minor damage in 2013 that is believed to have been purely cosmetic (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery).  Clear Euro side marker lenses have been installed along with OEM Porsche 18" Turbo Twist wheels that come dressed in relatively new tires.

Inside, the black interior is factory configured with 8-way power-operated and heated front seats in leather, rear seats in leather, a sound system, CD storage compartment, and automatic climate control.  A carbon-fiber trimmed shift knob and handbrake cover have been added and a double-din Alpine head unit has been installed which offers Bluetooth connectivity and a backup camera.  All gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional and the cabin is said to be in great shape except for some imperfections on shifter base trim.

This first-generation 996 Carrera is powered by a 3.4 L flat-six engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.  296 HP and 258 lb.-ft of torque are distributed to the rear wheels, allowing this Carrera to accelerate from 0-60 MPH in approximately 5 seconds while reaching a top speed of over 170 MPH.  The dealer service book is included with its last stamp recorded in 2015. A complimentary oil service will be carried out prior to sale and this 996 is said to be in excellent operating condition with a long shakedown trip recently completed by the seller with no issues to speak of.  There is no record of an IMS bearing upgrade.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, tools, a stamped dealer service book, and a clean title.

@Alchiv - The cup holder you're writing about was an option. Not all 996's came with them. I'm not sure if this one did or didn't. I do not have the original radio.

  • Alchiv (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

I’ve had a 2001 Carrera cab I remember having a cupholder in the center where it pulled out over the dash and had two cupholders. Was that removed when you put the double din. Also do you have the original radio?

@Dplin2001 - prior owner must have picked up a set of used manuals via eBay or something.

  • Bill930P (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@Dplin2001 - good eye. I never noticed, but that service book is from another car. The option sticker on the front page shows a different vin.

For anyone needing shipping assistance, I always offer that at no cost to any of my customers. You just pay my actual cost to the transport company on delivery.

  • Atc1011 (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@Dplin2001 I noticed the same thing. There is some weird mileage inconsistencies between that and the carfax

  • Dplin2001 (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

Quick question, you list the mileage as 64,135 but pic 89 shows a stamp and the mileage is 67,214 6 yrs ago. What do you think the discrepancy is.

  • Bill930P (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@Renman57 - I don't know what that is about. It's weird that its grouped in with a registration event. I've never seen that before. What I can say is that I see nothing on the car that suggests there was any body repairs in the past other then cosmetic paint work.

  • Renman57 (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

Any details on the roof/front damage in 07?

  • Bill930P (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@derrick211 _ the state that the car is delivered in collects the tax. If you pick up the car in FL, then you pay FL tax. If you are issued a temp tag, then the count as delivery. However, most states will credit you for that amount when you do the final registration, meaning, you don't have to pay the tax agian.

  • derrick211 (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

    @Bill930P @AtPorsche

To my understanding state taxes are collected on my end (Maryland) when applying for registration/tags instead of the purchasing state. Is that in line with your understanding or is Florida collecting the sales tax?

  • Bill930P (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@derrick211 - yes, I can provide temp tag. You will need to check with your state and make sure there won't be any tax implications ( in most states there won't).

  • Bill930P (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@Dplin2001 - I'll take a closer look later today. It's not very expensive, even if it's bad.

  • derrick211 (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

Do you provide any support with temporary tags for out of state buyers?

  • Dplin2001 (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@mbarnes916 I was wrong, not the left side but the right side, look at pic 4, 19 just in front of the right front tire. It looks like it might be from a curb from parking.

  • mbarnes916 (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@Dplin2001 What is the number of the picture you

  • Bill930P (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@Dplin2001 - They are all in place and stright.

  • Dplin2001 (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

Are all the under body panels in place? It looks like one may have been dinged up on the left front. Looks like some plastic is bent out of shape. Thx

  • Bill930P (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@mbarnes916 - The wheels on the car are OEM 996 wheels. However, the are not original to this car.

I did try and get a DME report pulled before it went to the body shop. The guys at European Auto Center were nice enough to squeeze me in. However, their PIWIZ was having issues. It would not initiate. As a result, they were not able to do it.

I do not have a written PPI to post. I do my own inspections when I buy these (I'm more then qualified), and fix anything that needs attention. I encourage buyers to have their own independent PPI's done before they bid. For impartiality, I think this needs to be done by the buyer, not seller.

Earlier this month, I drove this car to the Mecum auction in Kissimmee. During that week, I put about 1000 miles on the car (including the drive there and back). When I say the car drives great, and has no issues, I say it from experience. IMHO that was a far better test then any PPI.

  • mbarnes916 (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

Are these the original wheels and are you going to post a PPI or DME on this?

@Dplin2001 - there are no oil leaks, anyway, including the RMS. Clutch feels fine. No metal in the oil when I did the oil change.

  • Dplin2001 (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

Has any type of PPI inspection been done? Curious if there is any oil around the RMS, has the oil been checked for any metal?, and how is the clutch? Thanks

  • Bill930P (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@mg267 - I just got rid of them. Sorry.

  • mg267 (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@Bill930P @AtPorsche Very kind of you to due that for the other BaT bidder, im sure he appreciated it!

Would you be willing to add in the red rims with the sale for an additional cost? or even swap them out?
    Thanks!

@tstamm - I'll get paint meter reading as soon as I get it back from body shop. No IMS issues.

  • tstamm (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

    Any paint meter readings available?

The front bumper and hood is repainted, any other repainted areas?

Any sign of IMS issues found during oil filter change

  • Bill930P (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@TJW24 - no. They were only on there for a few weeks

  • TJW24 (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

Seller, was the paint affected at all when removing the decals?

  • Dbahnick 3 years, 2 monthsago

  • Bill930P (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@paulynet - I'll try my best to get one before the auction ends. I don't have the computer to pull that report, and the car goes to the body shop tomorrow for a chip on the front bumper to be fixed. If I can find someone with a PWIS to pull the DME report before that, I will.

  • Bill930P (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@sgk - I am the same seller that had listed it on BaT. That deal never went thru. 911M3 had seen the car a couple days before the auction ended, went he came by to view another coupe I had in my warehouse. That's the one he wanted to buy, but he bid on this car because it was so cheap. However, when he came to pay for it, he kept going back to the one he has origally intended to buy. Ultimately, we ended up making a deal where I just changed him the difference between the two (a much lower price then I had intended to sell it for), and he got the one he wanted. I didnt want to do it that way, as now I have to sell this one all over gain. However, I wouldn't be happy making a customer buy a car he didn't want.

  • paulynet 3 years, 2 monthsago

Can you provide a DME report? Want to make sure that there are no mechanical over revs in range 2. Thanks

  • sgk (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

    Sorry to bother you again:)
Are you 911M3 who bought this car in December 2020?
    https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2000-porsche-911-carrera-113/
If yes, then I have no questions, as you are just flipping it. But if non I would want to know why he sold it so quickly.

  • Bill930P (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@sgk - no rust. I will post some underside pictures tomorrow.

  • sgk (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

Hi, any rust? If its not too difficult please post underside photos.

  • Bill930P (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

avusm3 - I have not. Keep in mind, the 996's don't register over-revs like the 997's. They only show them in two ranges. All of the top revs are bulked together.

  • avusm3 (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

    Have the over-revs been checked?
