The flagship model of the first water-cooled 911 generation, the Porsche 996 Turbo features a 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six based on the engine in the GT1 Le Mans racer. Finished in Polar Silver over black supple leather, this 2001 example comes equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, deleted front bumperettes, a deleted sunroof, and deleted model designation. Additional options include aluminum instrument dials, aluminum/leather shifter and emergency brake handle, lumbar support, and more. This meticulously maintained Turbo is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California while showing approximately 39k miles on the odometer.
The 996 Turbo presents widened bodywork compared to the standard Carrera with integrated side intakes, larger front grilles, more pronounced side skirts, vented rear bumpers, red brake calipers, and dual exhaust outlets. Finished in Polar Silver, this non-sunroof example features optional colored Porsche crested wheel center caps, a deleted model designation, and deleted front bumperettes. It rides on 18” turbo twist wheels, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The seller states that Design 911 aluminum wheel spacers and extended lug bolts have been fitted and that a 1” scratch is visible on the front bumper along with some minor paint imperfections. The seller also notes that the automatically deploying rear spoiler is inoperable, resulting in a warning light on the dashboard when it is intended to rise at 75 MPH+. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin features Black upholstery with optional supple leather heated seats with lumbar support and Porsche-crested headrests. Additional options include footwell lighting, and aluminum instrument dials, aluminum/leather shifter & emergency brake handles, floor mats, and metal door sill model insignias. The seller adds that a Pioneer stereo system with navigation and XM radio was professionally installed in 2016.
The 996 Turbo is powered by a 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged Mezger flat-six, capable of producing up to 415 HP and 415 lb.-ft. of torque sent to all four wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. The seller states that the oil has been changed every 5k miles, or yearly, whichever came first, that an aFe air filter has been fitted, and that the car received its 30k mile service at Lang Racing in 2019. A new battery was reportedly fitted in 2020 and the clutch accumulator is said to have been replaced in 2023.
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, an air pump, a car cover, a battery charger, sales literature, some documentation, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “I am selling my beloved 996TT to upgrade to a 2014 911 Turbo S for my 70th Birthday. I have pampered this car since I got it in 2016. I have loved doing the oil changes and polishing and cleaning it myself. I have a lift at home, so it goes on the lift monthly for my fanatic cleaning process. The insides and outsides of the wheel have been cleaned along with the fender liners, and a dashboard UV protectant is included in the sale. Everyone who sees it or rides in it is amazed it is a 2001 model both from looks and performance standpoints. As far as the rear wing goes, there are two ways to fix it; a $200 way that makes it permanently extended and a $2,000 way that replaces the hydraulic system with an electronic system. I have left it as it is to let the new owner decide if they want to fix it and if so, how to fix it.”

Welcome to the final day of the auction of my pristine 2001 996 TT. I wanted to let everyone that is interested in my car know that i just went to a cars and coffee today with the San Diego PCA group and of the six 996 TTs that were there today that mine was the cleanest of them all. Also, I forgot to mention that the sale also includes the original stereo that came with the car and the dashboard parts that were removed to put in the current double DIN Pioneer stereo that is there now into the former single DIN hole. I am available all day today and tomorrow up till the end of the auction to answer any questions that you may have. Finally, one guy commented to me today at the cars and coffee that this was the cleanest 996TT he had ever seen, especially the paint; color, shininess, lack of chips and dents and the depth of the polar Silver pearlescent effect.

Welcome to the auction of my beloved 996TT. It is in fantastic shape, still smells new inside, and ready for a new home. I am here to answer any questions you may have about it. I have spent hundreds of hours cleaning and polishing it in the 6 years I have owned it. To me, it still looks brand new.
