2001 Porsche 986 Boxster 5-Speed

Finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a Metropol Blue interior, this first-generation 2001 Porsche 986 Boxster was sold new in California featuring the optional Sport Package, a 5-speed manual transmission, Porsche Stability Management (PSM), and exclusive Porsche-crested headrests. This Boxster is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Jersey showing approximately 91k miles on the odometer.

The original Boxster draws styling inspiration from Porsche’s classic 356 Speedster and 550 Spyder race car. This example is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with a Metropol Blue convertible top and optional 17” Boxster Design wheels with colored Porsche crest center caps and Michelin tires from 2017. The seller notes a small ding present on the front and rear decklid, and the CARFAX report shows minor to moderate damage to have occurred in 2018.

The Metropol Blue interior includes the Sport Package which adds a HiFi sound system, cruise control, an on-board computer, an alarm system, a CD changer, and a wind stop. The car was also appointed with Porsche-crested headrests as an exclusive factory option. Some wear is noted on the driver’s seat and the seller reports the digital oil level gauge reads inaccurately.

A mid-mounted 2.7-liter flat-six engine produces up to 217 HP and drives the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual transmission. Stopping power comes from fixed 4-piston brakes and ventilated discs while handling is supplemented by optional Porsche Stability Management (PSM). The seller states an oil service and fuel system cleaning have been performed during their ownership.

This sale will include a clean title.

    @daniel.kinsella I have no relationship to the seller. Have no reason to think that this is not a totally legitimate auction as Pcarmarket are very reputable and although they are only the middleman for the auction they would not allow illegitimate sellers. AS always do your DD as pcarmarket are not responsible for claims made by the seller and so make sure to have your concerns answered by the seller

    @ed47 It should cost about a dollar a mile to ship open and about 1.50 for closed which for a soft top is probably the way to go

    The car seals really well, no water intrusion from the Top. Everything lines up perfectly.
    Tracks straight and true.
    Unfortunately I don’t have any underside pics although it was pretty clean when I checked it out on the lift
