Now up for auction is this 2001 Porsche 986 Boxster S finished in Biarritz White over a black interior. A favorite among driving enthusiasts, the first-generation Boxster offers a nimble, lightweight platform with a mid-mounted flat-six engine sending power to the rear wheels. This 2001 example came optioned with 18” SportClassic wheels, Porsche Stability Management (PSM), and a 6-speed manual transmission. Having remained under the care of its original owner in California and Nevada, this Boxster S shows just under 16k miles on the odometer and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Las Vegas.
This 986 comes finished in Biarritz White (9A2) and features a black convertible top, side air intakes, and a dual center-exit exhaust. The seller describes the car to have been garage-kept and notes a small dent on the passenger-side rocker panel as well as a small scratch on the driver-side rocker panel near the rear wheel arch. This Boxster S was ordered with optional two-piece 18” SportClassic wheels which were reportedly mounted with new Michelin Pilot Sport N3 tires in January of 2020.
Inside, you will find a black interior with power-operated leather seats, cruise control, automatic climate control, a cabin wind deflector, and an upgraded Nakamichi stereo. The cabin is described to have been very well maintained with only a few small scratches on plastic trim pieces. The seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.
This Boxster S carries a mid-mounted 3.2L flat-six engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. This naturally aspirated power plant sends as much as 250 HP and 225 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels. Fixed 4-piston brake calipers are equipped at all four corners and this 986 was optioned with Porsche Stability Management (PSM). A new battery has been installed and maintenance carried out since 2019 includes a new air filter and mass airflow sensor at 13.9k miles, new tires and wheel alignment at 14.7k miles, and a full service and inspection at 15.9k miles. The Porsche specialist that did the PPI for us said there is no cause for worry regarding the water pump. The car has been garaged since we acquired it, and there is not a drop of liquid under the vehicle.
The fuel door is a tiny crack on the hinge that does not affect usability. It is barely visible - I never noticed it until they pointed it out in the PPI, and I still struggle to find it.

Could you give the outcome of the water pump and fuel door problems as listed on the repair invoice. Will you be posting start up and run videos? Thanks.
