This 2002 M Coupe is one of only 678 examples produced for the United States with the updated S54 engine of the E46 generation M3. Of the few produced, it is one of only 27 to have been configured with a Black Sapphire Metallic finish over Black Nappa leather and equipped with an optional sunroof. Additionally, this M Coupe has reportedly been upgraded with revised engine software a short shifter, a high-flow air mass meter, a Dinan cold-air intake and front strut tower brace, aftermarket exhaust items, and a Diffsonline limited-slip differential. Showing approximately 67k miles on the odometer, it is now being auctioned by its seller out of Maryland.
This Coupe is presented in the rare shade of Black Sapphire Metallic and rides on Silver-painted 17” Style 40 wheels dressed in Kumho Ecsta V730 tires. Other equipment includes front fender vents, M-specific bumpers, side skirts, a rear window wiper, a rear hatch spoiler, and quad exhaust outlets. The seller adds that window tint has been applied to the windshield, side, and rear windows. The rear window shows discoloration, and the seller notes an incident occurred on the left side while the vehicle was parked in November 2010. The cabin is trimmed in Black Nappa leather and includes heated seats, air conditioning, and a Harman/Kardon premium sound system. The seller adds that a billet short shifter has been fitted along with an illuminated ZHP shift knob and driver’s door cup holder insert, and rear floor sound insulation. Other amenities include an M-branded leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, a CD stereo, and a rear cargo partition net. The face plate beneath the light switch has detached and will accompany the sale.
This M Coupe equips a naturally aspirated 3.2-liter S54 inline six-cylinder engine sending up to 315 HP and 251 lb.-ft of torque stock to the rear wheels through a ZF 5-speed manual transmission. The reported modifications comprise a Dinan front strut tower brace, Dinan cold air intake Siemens MSS 54 engine management control system, Stage 4 engine management software, high-flow air mass meter, aftermarket exhaust components with 76mm tips, and a Diffsonline three-disc limited-slip differential. Other factory equipment includes Dynamic Stability Control and All-Season Traction (AST) while stopping power is provided by four-wheel ventilated disc brakes.
This sale will include a clean title, a car cover, a toolkit, a window sticker, and some documentation.

It seems like someone here is trying *REALLY* hard to back-handedly talk down what looks to be a nice driver-condition vehicle. She isn’t a museum piece, but certainly worth buying and putting in a little elbow grease to make her shine and enjoy.

Any additional pictures of lower doors and rust forming ?
No leaks, those photos were taken when a lift could be accessed which happened to be on a rainy day.
The car has factory catalytic converters in place and have not been removed.

Photo 100 and 101 shows the crossover "H" pipe. I hope you have the OEM Cats!
The car has no catalytic converters . Do you have the OEM Catalytics. This will not this pass CA SMOG emissions?
Photo 84 shows signs of rust lower corner of door. Can you take additional photos of rust forming on body and doors.
Are the shocks , brake lines , hoses , and steering rack looks to have oil residue. Can you confirm there are no leaks and leak free? Underside looks very oily !

@oddestball are you sure? I see a leaf held on by the bushing by a spider web but not a crack. And then everything else just looks like factory seam sealer.
To answer your question @iwantwhatyougot2 there has not been any reinforcements added and that decision was made upon inspecting and determining there was not yet any signs of cracking.
Photo 130 shows 1586 on the paint meter . You have any history in repaint or accident ? Has the subframe been reinforced ? Photos 116-124 oil leaks shows leaks. Where is the crack in Photo 180
