Regarded among the greatest sports sedans of all time, the BMW E39 M5 highlights a naturally aspirated S62 V8 engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. This 2002 example is finished in Carbon Black Metallic over Caramel Nappa leather and is equipped with the Heritage Leather Package. Cared for and garage-kept by the current owner since 2004, this M5 is now being offered for auction out of Colorado with approximately 127k miles on the odometer.

This M5 is finished in Carbon Black Metallic and rides on 18” Style 65 wheels. Compared to a standard E39 5-Series, the M5 features Shadowline trim, revised bumpers and side skirts, a trunk lid spoiler, aerodynamic mirrors, and quad exhaust outlets. Additional features include xenon headlights with washers, fog lights, and M5 badging on the trunk lid and side moldings. The front grille and rear spoiler are said to have been refinished. The seller also notes a small ding on the passenger’s side door along with a crack on the rear spoiler.

The cabin is appointed with Caramel Nappa leather upholstery as part of the Heritage Leather Package along with fine wood trim and an Anthracite headliner. Interior details include an M-branded gear shift lever, an M Sport multifunction leather-wrapped steering wheel, and M5-badged door sills. Amenities include an electric sunroof, power-adjustable and heated seats with memory, automatic climate control, and optional M Audio with enhanced bass. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are confirmed to be working properly.

The E39 M5 equips a 4.9-liter S62 V8 engine with double-VANOS variable valve timing, individual throttle bodies, hollow camshafts, and a quasi-dry-sump lubrication system. The S62 produces up to 394 HP and 369 lb.-ft of torque, allowing the M5 to reach 60 MPH from a standstill in as little as 4.8 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 155 MPH. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Getrag 420G 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The seller notes the clutch was replaced in 2019, the struts were replaced in 2023, and a new battery was installed in 2024 along with new rear tires.

This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a toolkit, a spare tire, an air pump, and BMW M5 winter weather floor mats.

The seller would like you to know:Thank you for visiting my auction. I have owned this car since 2004 and it has been garaged since it was purchased. All maintenance is up to date. The engine runs like a beast and the exhaust sound is incredible. Handles like it's on rails yet very comfortable. Still turns heads.”

Hi, thank you for reaching out. My picture number 37 is of the driver side door sill. There is no rust visible there. There is no rust visible anywhere else. All electrical components work, however, door lock on back driver side is sticky sometimes.

Hey there. Nice car. I see rust above left headlight in photo 14 and also a spot above wheel in 37. Where else is there rust visible? Also - do all electrical components work - window regulators, sunroof, HVAC, radio and more?
    Any other issues not described?

  • dlwilson (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

@Kevinmr @Kevinmr, thank you. No VANOS work. Only work done is in the listing.

Caramel leather interior is hard to maintain. This one looks incredible, virtually as new. Well done.
