We are pleased to present this 2002 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Silver Arrow. As one of only 1,450 units produced for the American market, this limited edition R129 was designed to celebrate Mercedes’ “Silver Arrow” racing cars of the 1930s. These cars came standard with Silver Arrow metallic paint, a two-tone leather interior, the AMG styling package, and many more exclusive options as standard. Powered by a hearty 5.0L V8 engine, this R129 Silver Arrow has only 34k miles on the odometer and is listed by its seller out of Miami, FL.
The exterior Silver Arrow Metallic paint is reported to be in great condition except for some imperfections around the taillights (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). Features specific to the Silver Arrow include Bi-Xenon headlights, two-piece alloy wheels, and the AMG Styling Package which adds more aggressive side skirts, fender flares, and revised front and rear fascias. A removable hardtop is also equipped as well as “Silver Arrow” side designations on both front fenders.
Inside, the two-tone black and silver Nappa leather interior is reported to be in excellent condition. The cabin remains original in its specification and all buttons, switches, and interior functions are said to be in good working order. Noteworthy details include a machine-turned instrument panel and shift gate, dark wood trim, power-adjustable seats, and a commemorative “Silver Arrow” logo in front of the gear selector.
The naturally aspirated 5.0L V8 engine under the hood develops 302hp and 339 lb.-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed automatic transmission. This example is reported to be in excellent mechanical order with a full standard service reported to have been carried out within the last year.
Included in the sale of this limited-edition Mercedes-Benz is a set of 2 keys, a clean title, books, spare tools, and a storage rack for the removable hardtop. A true collector’s item, this SL500 Silver Arrow is not to be missed.
