Now up for auction is this 2002 Porsche 996 Carrera 4S Coupe finished in Basalt Black Metallic over a Savannah Beige full leather interior. Designated with the “Carrera Facelift” option code 762, this 2002 example represents one of the original launch models for the second-generation 996. This 4S also offers a 6-speed manual transmission, all-wheel-drive performance, and styling derived from the 911 Turbo. Highlighting a clean one-owner history on CARFAX, this C4S has undergone a major recent service including an IMS bearing upgrade, and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Minnesota while showing approximately 59k miles on the odometer.
This 4S is finished in Basalt Black Metallic and the seller has noted only minor cosmetic imperfections, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery. The Carrera 4S is most recognizable for its model-specific rear reflector band located between the tailights. In addition to its wide fenders, the 4S also shares its front and rear bumper design with the Turbo model as well as its large red brake calipers and 18” Turbo Twist wheels. These wheels come dressed in Sumitomo tires and feature special "4S" logo center caps.
Inside, the driver is situated in a premium Savannah Beige full leather interior. At an original cost of over $85k, this 996 comes equipped with heated front seats, left seat lumbar support, an AM/FM Radio with CD Player, and the Advanced Technic Package which includes high-pressure headlight cleaners, the Bose audio system with twelve upgraded speakers, Xenon projector headlights, and a remote CD changer. A hardwired connection and controller for a Valentine One radar detector have been installed and the seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.
This Carrera 4S is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.6L flat-six engine that sends as much as 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. This 2002 example has recently undergone a major service that included an LN Engineering IMS prequalification inspection and bearing upgrade, a new rear main seal, oil cooler seals, and a water pump replacement. The spark plugs are also noted to have been replaced within the last 7k miles and service records are said to be included dating back to the original purchase which shows maintenance to have been carried out by Porsche of Saint Paul and German Auto Works. The seller adds that the final ticket for the IMS bearing upgrade has just been finished and will be put in the next owner's name and that the LN Engineering warranty will go with the car to the next owner.
This sale will include the original owner's manuals, window sticker, toolkit, spare tire, and a set of keys as well as a clean Wisconsin title. The Porsche 996 generation is becoming increasingly desirable, do not miss your chance to own this well-equipped 2002 Carrera 4S 6-speed launch model.

@Moosetaco When we pulled the transmission the clutch and flywheel were both in great shape and the car drove perfect and clutch engagement is perfect. I hate messing with a system that does not need to be messed and has a ton of life left. The clutch in this car feels great and had a ton of life left on it. There is no jerky engagement or issues it feels and grabs great.
Not sure if it will work to post these links but its worth a try:

@tmr3 I have submitted underbody and videos but I do not see them up here I have no way to do them directly if anybody wants some please email DM me with your email and I will send them. I will try to post a direct link to them as well but I think Pcar somehow flags links.

Isn't this a dealership with car lifts? Little weird the reluctance to show underbody pictures.

Looking to confirm this has the original clutch and DM flywheel? Seems a shame not to have replaced at minimum the clutch while the transmission was removed. It is a beautiful 4S, nice full leather interior! GLWA.

If possible, can you show the undercarriage and suspension components. Minnesota winters can be hard on any car.
@TMR3 The car can be viewed in Gerrman Auto Works warehouse in Minneapolis but will be sold on this site. If you are local we suggest that you make an appointment to come and check it out. Thanks for your interest.
@bbiela We are an authorized installer for LN and since we are they make us do a prequal on these cars before we can install a ims bearing that can be warranted. Part of that process includes bore scoping all the cylinders and looking for any issues. This car passed the bore scoping and all of the other tests without any problems. Thanks for your interest.
Do you have the results of the bore scope?
Also would love to see under cars pics since its always been in a Northern state. thank you
