Up for auction is this 2002 Porsche 996 Carrera 4S Coupe finished in Lapis Blue Metallic. Sporting the wide bodywork and all-wheel-drive system of the Turbo model, the Carrera 4S remains one of the most desirable versions of the Porsche 996. This first-year 2002 example was ordered with a 6-speed manuals transmission, the Sport Exhaust System, Advanced Technic Package, and a premium Metropol Blue full leather interior with Porsche crested headrests. Having spent much of its life in California, this Carrera 4S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida while showing approximately 125k miles on the odometer.
This 996 comes finished in Lapis Blue Metallic and is distinguished as a Carrera 4S by its wide Turbo-derived bodywork and unique model-specific light band spanning between the taillights. Both the front and rear bumpers are said to have been previously refinished and the seller reports an area of peeling clearcoat under the left-side headlamp as well as slight discoloration on the mirror caps, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report. This 4S rides on factory 18” Turbo Look II wheels dressed in Sumitomo HTR ZIII tires. One of the colored crests is missing from a center cap and the wheels exhibit some curb rash around the edges.
Inside, you will find a Metropol Blue full leather interior with Exclusive Porsche crest embossed headrests and the Advanced Technic Package (P04) which adds a 12-speaker Bose audio system along with high-pressure headlight cleaners, projector-beam Xenon headlights, and a remote CD changer. Some wear is depcited on the seating surfaces and the seller reports all gauges and accessories to be working properly.
This 996 is equipped with a 3.6L flat-six engine rated at 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission, providing acceleration from 0-60 MPH in approximately 5 seconds with a top speed over 170 MPH. The 4S comes standard with Turbo-spec red-painted 4-piston aluminum monobloc fixed brake calipers paired with cross-drilled and ventilated 330mm rotors. Porsche Stability Management (PSM) with ABS 5.7, ASR, and ABD was also equipped as standard. This example was optioned with the Sport Exhaust System and has been modified with a muffler delete, providing a louder and more aggressive tone. CARFAX shows several services to have been completed by authorized Porsche dealers in Southern California and there is no record of an IMS bearing replacement.

@axe127 The tires are dated 34/2018 and appear to have about 50-60% life.

@axe127 Thank you! Although the previous owner did maintain the car well, he did not care for maintaining service history. I had our shop check the brakes. Here is what they came back with "Front pads have 75%-80% life left, the rotors have minor lip/grooves. Rear pads have 70%-75% life left, the rotors have no lip/grooves. " I've uploaded pics of this. @Pcar should have them up soon.
The tires are Sumitomo HTR ZIII. I'll check for manufactured date and condition first thing tomorrow.

@VertexAuto Nice C4S, I have a few questions. Do you know when the brake pads and rotors were last replaced (or how much life is remaining)? Which tires are installed, and how much tread is left on them? Do you have any record of the clutch being replaced? Do you have any service records? Are the original mufflers included? Thanks!

As for the IMS, we can drop the transmission and check for a upgraded IMS bearing for $850. If it has not been replaced, we can install an EPS upgraded IMS bearing for an additional $1,500 including parts and labor.
Also, we just replaced the 4 center caps and have uploaded images of that.
