Offered as the ultimate Carrera in Porsche’s 996 model range featuring the wide bodywork, brakes, and all-wheel-drive system of the 911 Turbo, this 2002 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S comes finished in Guards Red over a Black full leather interior featuring optional Porsche crested headrests, the Advanced Technic Package, Leather Package, and exclusive aluminum trim inlays. It received a new clutch, water pump, radiators, front brakes, an LN Engineering IMS bearing retrofit, and much more under the care of its owner since acquiring the car about four years ago. Previously listed on PCARMARKET, this Carrera 4S is now being offered for auction out of Massachusetts with approximately 77k miles showing on the odometer.

This 996 comes finished in Guards Red and can be distinguished as a 4S by its Turbo-derived bodywork and model-specific reflector band between the taillights.  The factory 18” Turbo-look wheels have been recently refurbished and come paired with optional colored center crests, aftermarket 15mm spacers, and Sumitomo tires which were mounted about three years ago.  A new front bumper was installed following minor damage in October of 2020 along with refinishing of the hood and both front fenders to address stone chips.  The exterior is described to be in good overall condition with some signs of road wear, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is trimmed in Black full leather upholstery including heated front seats with optional lumbar support and Porsche crested headrests.  Other options include the Advanced Technic Package, Leather Package (small), and aluminum inlays for the shifter and brake handle. The plastic trim pieces and leather upholstery exhibit some wear, and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be fully functional although the passenger seat forward/reverse switch only works intermittently.

All four wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission paired with a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine producing as much as 320 HP 273 lb.-ft of torque.  Routine oil changes have been carried out every 3k miles by the current owner over the past three years along with replacement of the clutch, front differential seals, oil return tube, water pump, coolant tank, radiators, condenser, front brake pads and rotors, and an LN Engineering IMS bearing retrofit.

This sale will include a clean title.

Again, you’ll love this car. It’s so nice it gave me stomach aches parking it in crowded areas. If PCAR gives you my info, just give me a call. Thanks. I’m torn on this one.

I have been in meetings all day and couldn’t get back to this auction..

I saw a drive this car. This is a super nice example of GR C4S with all the typical, and atypical, mechanical 966 needs addresses and gorgeous paintwork. And great honest upfront seller.
The new owner will be a very very satisfied happy purchaser.

    6th week of 2018.
I measure front and back, just over 1/4”.

  • dpico996 (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Looking at the pictures below, they pretty much cover everything. I did notice a scratch on left panel behind drivers seat I hadn’t seen before. The tires say 0618. I put a ruler in the tread but the picture is not all that. The index finger test reveals beyond a 1/4” or more.
The interior shows no peeling. The back area is actually not as nice as front but still nice. My guess is grandkids which might explain the broken seat switch I fixed.
Anyhow, to be clear; this is not a concours car. It’s a beautiful car that gets lots of compliments and comments on its condition for a 20+ year old car with 78k.
As far as driving, I’d take to California tomorrow without a worry. I’ve had 3 ppi’s on this car since I’ve owned. When I bought, when I brought for a brake flush during covid and the last potential buyer. Anyhow, if someone want to Sametime car tonight. Just let me know. I don’t want an unhappy buyer. I’ve been there.

  • dpico996 (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

    I have receipts.
The rear toe arm was adjustable to account for lowering. I have the originals. They are nothing special. I bought because available when I needed. They have been fine.
    Red is reflection.
Tires where bought new when I bought car. They have under 10k on them. I’ll try to get the depth and date tonight.
The interior I’ll take pictures tonight.

  • MJOFitness (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

    Couple more questions for you.
    1. The work you had done that you listed during your ownership, is that all stuff you have receipts to pass along to the new owner?
    2. The rear toe control arm (in red) what brand is that part if known? (Any other aftermarket parts?) What brake pads are on the car?
    3. In pic #56 of front trunk. Is the red on the brake reservoir and cowling just a reflection from the hood?
    4. Tread depth on tires and month/year of production?
    5. Can you take pics of interior bits that are peeling or wearing?
    6. Thank you

  • dpico996 (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Sorry, I do not have. You can call mcbrians in. Scituate mass and ask for Ritchie. He did the PPI. He was a tech at Porsche Norwell for 15-20 years and joined mcbrians back in the summer. He knows the car. He diagnosed and fixed the noise issue i had related to the Lowering springs. Sorry, I never got a copy.

@dpico996 - Great looking 996! Would you be able to post the PPI report from the previous buyer?

  • dpico996 (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

I’m surprised no one came by this weekend to drive or look at. Been very quiet.
FYI, a young guy was suppose to buy back in October and had PPI done. Car passed with flying colors. Anyhow, if anyone wants the story, let me know.

@Aquaboy2u Yes I have all the receipts. Most work I paid to have done. Waterpump, ignition switch, brakes and coolant tank I did my self but I have parts receipts. Besides the brakes and switch, I did the others when I first bought.

  • Aquaboy2u (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Do you have receipts for all the work done u dear your ownership? Thank you

  • dpico996 (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

The red tube was there when I bought it.
Bought from 80 something year old guy that the kids took the car from. No receipts for whatever he did. I do know that When I had the car lowered, mechanic noted how clean and how well it came apart which makes me think previous owner didn’t drive in the winter. Daughter said father had searched quite a while foe this particular car (c4s GR).
When I put car up for sale last time, I ran a bunch of Durametric reports. Based on these tests, the motor is healthy. No ticking, no smoke ever. Doesn’t burn oil.

Can you shed some light on the history of items replaced and/or maintenance
    Suspension - shocks/springs/bushings
Engine - ex: red intake elbow
Transmission - shows it was removed on Carfax
Trying to learn more as I come from M cars and my knowledge base of P cars is not as strong.

  • dpico996 (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Sorry, I’d rather not be responsible for storing for a month.

  • 68912Porsche (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Beautiful. Assuming everything was paid for could you store the car until mid April?

  • dpico996 (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Pcar has more pictures. I’ll ask them to post. Please remember car has been in storage so maybe a little dustier than before. Same car, just an 1” higher.

  • dpico996 (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Without writing and fine tuning my response, a Guy bought in deal tank. He was in Fl and I’m in Mass. He was looking for a good interest rate for a loan. He went as far as to have an appraiser come to my house for one bank. Assessment came in higher by a few thousand more than the asking price so all was good. Shipping costs were another factor. I think I talked at least 2 banks. Then he asked to wait until October because no garage space and the whole hurricane season thing. Obviously looking back, that was a real concern. After leaving in the garage and not driving the whole time (months), I threw in the towel, asked to bail out and we decided to part ways. Great guy, it just wasn’t meant to be. Since then I removed the lowering springs and went back to stock to fix a suspension noise I had which I mentioned in previous ad and also fixed the seat switch. Car is better now then before. So not a dealer. Again, awesome car. Relatively fast, comfortable, great sound, kick butt interior and no need to mention exterior. It feels and looks like a 100k car.

  • NHPorscheguy (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

HI, I really like your 996 and am considering bidding but am a bit confused. I looked at the prior listing for the vehicle. You were listed as the seller then. You're not a dealer, correct? That last auction looks like it sold in the Deal Tank. So why are you selling it again? Also, most of the pictures in this listing are the same as what was shown in the prior one. Will you be providing more up to date photos of the car? Thanks in advance for any clarification you can provide

  • dpico996 (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Regarding bumper, I was parked at a restaurant in Conway, NH and Someone drove into the side and hit where the bumper bends from front to side, approximately in the middle of the bumper. I was on a road trip with several other guys (non Porsche). How they did not see a bright red 911 parked under a light is beyond me. They left without a note. I noticed the next day walking over from the motel. Anyhow,I insisted on a new cover and a Porsche certified shop. The insurance company agreed. That was about 2.5 years ago. Since it was in shop, I had them touch up clear on hood and fenders. Previous owner was 82 and I had to believe he was a close rider. This owner owned this car for the majority of its life. Daughter told me he wanted this specific car and searched a quite a while to get it. Unfortunately kids eventually took car from Dad due to his age and that’s when I got it. It’s a great car which draws a lot of attention. Pictures do not do these cars justice. Reason for selling, I’m looking for a convertible my wife and I can enjoy together.

  • dpico996 (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

I fixed passenger seat switch. Car needs nothing.

Welcome to the auction of my 2002 996 C4S.
Please note, the car has 78,200 miles on it.
Anyhow, Car is sorted and ready to drive anywhere. Any questions, I’m glad to answer. Thanks.
