The Porsche 996 series underwent a facelift for the 2002 model year including refreshed styling and a larger 3.6-liter engine. Finished in Seal Grey Metallic over a Graphite Grey interior, this 2002 Porsche 996 Carrera Coupe features a 6-speed manual transmission sending power to the rear wheels. It comes equipped with 18” Sport Classic wheels and a painted center console along with the optional Technic Package which adds Bi-Xenon headlamps and a HiFi sound system. Showing approximately 110k miles on the odometer, this 996 is now being offered for auction out of Florida.
For the 2002 model year, the Porsche 911 Carrera received a facelift including a revised front fascia with new headlights derived from the 911 Turbo. This Coupe is finished in Seal Grey Metallic and rides on 18” Sport Classic wheels with colored Porsche crest center caps. Other equipment includes a speed-activated rear spoiler, dual exhaust pipes, an electric sunroof, tinted side marker lights, and Bi-Xenon headlights with washers included as part of the Technic Package. The CARFAX report shows damage to the rear end in 2003.
Inside, this Carrera features a Graphite Grey partial leather interior with a matching Alcantara headliner and a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel. Accessories include a body-colored center console, electrically adjustable front seats, power windows and mirrors, cruise control, automatic climate control, a HiFi sound system, an in-dash CD stereo, a CD storage compartment, and black rubber all-season floor mats. The seller adds that the interior has been freshly reupholstered, and all gauges and accessories remain fully functional although the digital stereo display is dim.
A naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH takes place in approximately 5 seconds while stopping power comes from fixed 4-piston brakes and ventilated discs at each corner. The seller notes that the engine short block was replaced at 38k miles and a collection of service records shows $54k invested in maintenance over the years while the car was regularly serviced at an independent Porsche shop. The CARFAX also shows a service completed in January 2023 with new tires, a sunroof weatherstrip, tie rods, hood shocks, an oil filler tube, a seatbelt buckle, and a maintenance inspection.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, service records, and a clean title.

@jagtampa53 Many engines or short blocks have been replaced under warranty due to possible IMS failure.
The vehicle has a factory IMS in place with 72k miles. Not LN or any other aftermarket.
I don’t see anything about the IMS hearing fixed or replaced
I’ve never heard of anyone replacing the short block what was the reason for that was it a OEM PART so realistically the numbers don’t match correct
@Winchester12 The short block was replaced at 38k miles so technically the block has 72k miles
How extensive was the rear damage parts replaced and paint correction , due to bet difficult to see how bad if any gas the headlights yellowed , you also that the interior was reupholstered I see a miss alignment on the passenger bolster , is the windshield original
Is there information about the IMS being repaired or changed out
Ims. Yes or no
@jessem No rust on Florida vehicles and never have seen on a modern 911.
Will get under carriage snapshots uploaded 😄
So no record of the IMS being done? Also, do you have photos of the underside? The location makes me wonder if there's rust under there.
