Up for auction is this 2002 Boxster 5-speed presented in Lapis Blue Metallic over a Graphite Grey leather interior.  Introduced in late 1996 as Porsche’s premier mid-engine roadster, the Boxster has earned recognition among enthusiasts for its spritely handling and responsive ride.  Having been cared for by its current owner for the past three years, this 2002 example highlights extensive service history including an LN engineering IMS upgrade.  Showing approximately 77k miles on the odometer this Boxster is now being offered for auction in great overall condition by its seller in Washington D.C.

The Lapis Blue Metallic finish on this Boxster is said to be in great overall condition maintaining its factory look.  Details include a black cabriolet top and factory 17’ Boxster Design wheels which come wrapped in a set of Continental tires dated from 2018.  An additional set of twist wheels that wear winter tires will be included with the sale.

Inside, you will find a sporty Graphite Grey leather interior that is said to have been well-kept.  The interior is reported to be in great condition as depicted in the photo gallery.  This example is equipped with optional  heated seats, the Sport Package, an aftermarket radio and a cubby holder for the center console.  All gauges, electrical components and accessories are reported to be fully functional.

This Boxster carries a naturally aspirated 2.7L engine that is rated at approximately 250 HP.  The rear wheels are driven by way of a crisp 5-speed manual transmission making for a truly connected driving experience.  Records indicate that this car has always been properly maintained throughout its life.  Major services including an LN Engineering IMS bearing upgrade and new clutch have been performed along with the following items:

  • New ignition coils
  • Front struts
  • Tie rods
  • New water pump
  • New engine and transmission mounts
  • New fluids and filters

As of this March, the car is completely up-to-date on all due maintenance and remains in great running condition.

The sale of this Boxster will include the original window sticker, 2 keys, a set of winter wheels, a clean Carfax report and a collection of service records.  Presented in excellent overall condition, this Boxster makes a great addition to any Porsche enthusiast’s garage.

    @brunel Yes, certainly.
PCAR, if you're reading this, please provide this seller directly with my contact info rather than posting such to this site. Thanks.

@WRENCH.56 Definitely. I live on Capitol Hill so very close. The only issue is that the site does not allow trading personal information like addresses, phone number, etc. I would need to get that info from PCarmarket. Is that ok?

  • WRENCH.56 (registered bidder) 3 years, 7 monthsago

I have a friend in Arlington who could look at this car before I bid if it's OK with you.
    Please advise.

@Martiniman You are correct. 250 is the number for the S. 217 is the correct horsepower for the base. I apologize for the mistake.

  • Martiniman 3 years, 7 monthsago

I believe the HP is overstated.

Hi, I am the seller of this car. I tend to sell my fun cars after owning them for a few years mainly because I am looking for the next fun ride. This one is a little harder to part with. It is so much fun to drive. I’ve had lots of cars but this is my first Porsche and now I understand the fervor.

Don’t hesitate to ask me any question.
