Derived from the Alfa Romeo Alfetta, the GTV6 featured a fuel-injected 2.5L V6 engine paired with a 5-speed transaxle and was driven by Rodger Moore as James Bond in the 1983 film Octopussy. This 1983 GTV6 is said to have been originally sold by Ron Tonkin Alfa Romeo of Portland, Oregon, and is reported to have been well maintained since new by its enthusiast owners, with corroborating service records. This Alfa was said to have received a recent refinish in its original color of Signal Red, as well as 3.0 camshafts, new polyurethane suspension bushings, a new stainless exhaust system, and Koni adjustable shocks. Showing approximately 107,150 miles on the odometer, this 1983 GTV6 is now being offered at auction by the seller based out of Washington.
The Giugiaro-designed exterior is finished in Signal Red (AR514) with contrasting black front and rear bumpers and side skirts. Equipment includes quad headlamps, body-color mirror caps, front driving lights, a plastic hood insert, rear quarter panel vents, and a dual-tipped polished exhaust. The exterior was said to have been repainted in the factory color a few years ago to a very high standard, and detailed images are provided in the gallery. Silver 15” Ergon five-spoke wheels have been installed, and mounted with Toyo Proxes tires.
The cabin features deeply bolstered front seats trimmed in black leather with matching rear seats and door panels, and red piping throughout, contrasted with red carpeting. Amenities include air conditioning, Veglia instrumentation with ancillary gauges mounted above the center stack, power windows and door locks, a reading lamp, black floor mats with red Alfa Romeo script, and a cassette stereo. The seller notes that the air conditioning is currently inoperable due to being disconnected.
The GTV6 is powered by a fuel-injected 2.5L V6 with Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection that was said to have been fitted with camshafts from the 3.0L version. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle, allowing for acceleration from 0-60 MPH in 7.8 seconds with a top speed of 127 MPH. The seller reports that all suspension bushings have been upgraded with polyurethane versions, and new Koni shocks have been installed, as well as a new stainless exhaust system. A collection of detailed service records are said to accompany the sale.
This sale will include 2 keys, owner’s manuals, and a stack of service documentation.

@Bryon again, i dont know, niether does the current owner who has had the car for some time. I will assume, like on most older cars, that there is a system leak. Hose, compressor, condensor? ...dont know. I know the current owner drives the car on mild days .... isnt an issue for him. Best I can do lad

The AC is disconnected because it doesn't work, and has been for some time, but the cause of it being inoperable isn't known? Or what it would take to make it work?

Is there a crack in the driver's side rear bumper on the corner? All those images are out of focus, but there are weird lines right on the corner.

what a lovely little car ..... always enthusiast owned, in fact, the current owner races a vintage alfa and in currently restoring a Sprint Especial. This GTV is one of the nicest I have seen in many a year and the car has always been lovingly cared for . No rust, not ever. Even the battery box is rust free. Feel free with any questions. Jeremy Clarkson said "if you have not owned an Alfa, you're not a real gear head" Whadya waiting for ?
