The first-generation Aston Martin Vanquish was produced as the marque’s flagship high-performance grand tourer from 2001 until 2007 and features a naturally aspirated V12 engine housed within a bonded aluminum composite and carbon fiber chassis. This 2003 example comes finished in Blue Sapphire over Kestrel Tan leather upholstery and is equipped with a 6-speed automated manual transmission. The car also features a limited-slip differential, 19” chrome 12-spoke wheels, power-adjustable bucket seats, and steering wheel shift paddles. This Aston Martin was acquired by the seller in 2015 and has since undergone service including a new clutch, fuel pump, tires, and battery. Showing approximately 24k miles on the odometer, this Vanquish is now being offered for auction by its owner out of California.

The Aston Martin Vanquish was designed by Ian Callum with inspiration drawn from the classic DB4 GT Zagato. It features traditional styling cues including straked front fender vents, a dual-vented bonnet, and a bright silver grille with horizontal slats. Other details include integrated front fog lights, dual exhaust outlets, a polished fuel filler lid, chrome door handles, and chrome accents along the windshield, roofline, and boot lid. This 2003 example comes finished in Blue Sapphire with red-painted brake calipers and factory 19” chrome 12-spoke wheels. The seller notes some minor paintwork was performed on the left front fender to address a scratch and the Michelin Pilot Sport tires show production date codes from 2022 in the front and 2016 in the rear. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The two-seater cabin features Kestrel Tan leather upholstery with a matching quilted Alcantara headliner contrasted by blue carpeting and blue leather on the dashboard and forward door panels. Accessories include power-adjustable bucket seats, a leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters, V12 Vanquish logo treadplates, a rear parcel shelf, leather-trimmed floor mats, alloy pedals, automatic climate control, an analog clock, and an AM/FM cassette stereo with a CD changer.

The naturally aspirated 5.9-liter V12 DOHC engine features four valves per cylinder and an output of up to 460 HP and 400 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of an electro-hydraulically operated 6-speed automated manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH takes place in approximately 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 190 MPH.  Service performed under the seller’s ownership in 2023 includes replacement of the transmission clutch with a new OEM part at a cost of approximately $15k as well as replacing the fuel pump and battery in 2023 at an authorized Aston Martin dealer.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a battery charger, a tire repair kit, service records, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction. I have owned this car for over 8 years and store it in a climate-controlled garage. All maintenance is up to date and a new automatic transmission clutch and fuel pump was installed in May 2023. The car is completely stock with new front tires installed in 2022.”

This "processing" message is rather ominous. Bob, do I get to be excited about becoming a Vanquish owner? Was the reserve satisfied?

what was AM thinking sticking that antennae on the roof??? epic fail on their part

looks like the car is in need of a full paint correction (or re-spray) - other than that, I've always liked the look of the AM lineup, just know ver y little about the brand. was always warned about British cars though...

  • bspurzem (seller) 7 monthsago

I am sorry you are disappointed. I have no excuse. I did not mention the trunk lid and the tiny scrap on the bumper. This does not diminish the fact that this is an excellent example of a very exotic, high-performance, hand-made car from Aston Martin. The beautiful Blue Sapphire exterior and Kestral Tan interior make this a very special car.

  • stevenwinter24 (registered bidder) 7 monthsago

Not feeling too good here. You failed to mention the trunk issue, scrap on the bumper and major service as claim should have had receipts uploaded at the beginning of the auction. New video seems to have been shot with an old hand held camera and the car looks like it was through a dust storm. Apologies for ranting here, but not getting the warm and fuzzies. Why are you selling car?

  • bspurzem (seller) 7 monthsago

I left a message for the PCAR employee to post these files. he must attend to them manually. Check back in 20 mins.

  • stevenwinter24 (registered bidder) 7 monthsago

Maybe i am missing all the documentation but i do not see where this has been uploaded as per others requests. Additionally, the cold start video is 14 seconds long and i cannot make out anything on the dashboard.

  • bspurzem (seller) 7 monthsago

A new cold start that shows the dash board is uploaded.

  • bspurzem (seller) 7 monthsago

I checked the rear bumper and there was a very small scrap on the bumper. Less than 1/4". Regarding the trunk lid, the lid is not supporting itself. I use a PCV pipe to assist.
I uploaded copies of all major service records. (clutch, fuel pump, tires, battery).

  • BGME (registered bidder) 7 monthsago

I have same question as EUROCOL

Could you please post detailed pictures of the receipts for the new clutch, and of the major 25k mile service.

Also pictures of the instrument gauges with engine running showing all the idiot lights out, and the current mileage.

  • stevenwinter24 (registered bidder) 7 monthsago

Pic #35 appears to have a bumper ding. Is that just lighting/reflection? Pic #118 shows a pipe holding up the trunk lid. Is the trunk not functional?

The umbrella, pen, and silver owner's quick guide are present. All the tire repair items are in the trunk, never used. bob.

Lastly are the umbrella, Aston Martin pen and notebook present?

    Many thanks.

  • bspurzem (seller) 7 monthsago

Buyers. Thank you for viewing this beautiful 2003 Aston Martin Vanquish. I just uploaded a "cold start" video. Thank you for your bids. Bob.

The Parrot dial is a cell phone hands free mic installed by a previous owner. I never used. It can be removed.

As for the questions about the paint I can only say that the car finish has no scratches. I believe those to be swirls in the clearcoat that are showing up in the bright sun and reflection, perhaps after the recent Car Wash.

  • Spydergt4 (registered bidder) 7 months, 1 weekago

Me again - I see an aftermarket dial under the radio. Can you describe what that is please ?
Also, missing items in the glovebox - is/are there non operational issues with accessories ?
Do you have a list of repair items or does everything work perfectly ?

    Preparing to bid

  • Spydergt4 (registered bidder) 7 months, 1 weekago

I apologize in advance - no criticism intended, but did you wash the car before taking pictures ?
I see scratches in the finish on the paint and chrome items.
Am I seeing this correctly ? Or is it just dirt ?
