A high-performance Audi RS model based on the A6 executive sedan, the first-generation RS 6 was the ultimate vehicle built upon VW Group’s C5 platform featuring a twin-turbocharged 4.2-liter V8, Quattro permanent four-wheel drive, a sport-tuned DRC suspension, a 5-speed Tiptronic transmission, and 8-piston Brembo front brakes along with unique exterior and interior trim. This 2003 Audi RS 6 is said to be one of approximately 1,200 examples sold in North America and just 37 to have been finished in Misano Red. It was sold new from Porsche of Beverly Hills and factory-equipped with a power sunroof, Ebony black full leather upholstery, and 18” 9-spoke wheels. The recent recipient of over $3,000 worth of service, as well as extensive professional detailing, this RS 6, is now being offered for auction on behalf of its second owner out of Colorado while showing under 34k miles on the odometer.

This Audi is finished in Misano Red and features RS-specific bumpers, flared wheel arches, and rocker panels as well as a rear trunk lid spoiler and dual exhaust outlets. The seller indicates the car recently underwent approximately $1,000 worth of professional detailing including a full clay bar and polish treatment followed by a 6-month application of paint sealant. It rides on factory 19” Audi 9-spoke aluminum alloy wheels dressed in Continental ExtremeContact tires (4319). Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is trimmed in Ebony black full leather upholstery with burl wood veneers, an Alcantara headliner, and a perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel. Equipment includes heated front seats with “RS 6” logo backrests, heated rear seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, an electric rear window blind, steering wheel shift paddles, power mirrors, a power sunroof, and a Bose sound system paired with an Audi CD/cassette symphony stereo. All accessories and electronics are said to remain fully functional.

Up to 450 HP and 415 lb.-ft of torque comes from a twin-turbocharged 4.2-liter V8 DOHC engine with five valves per cylinder. Power is sent through a 5-speed Tiptronic automatic transaxle to Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system featuring a Torsen automatic torque biasing (ATB) center differential. The RS 6 incorporates a fully independent suspension with Audi’s Dynamic Ride Control (DRC) system. Stopping power comes from 8-piston Brembo monoblock calipers in front and single-piston ATE in the rear paired with vented and cross-drilled rotors at each corner. The seller states recent service completed by Paddock Imports includes an oil change, transmission service, a coolant system flush, and brake fluid replacement. The windshield was also replaced along with the primary drive belt.

This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, and some documentation.

The seller would like you to know: “We're excited to present a completely stock, low mileage example of a C5 RS6. There were approximately 1,200 units sold in North America and this is sure to be one of the cleanest out there. There were only 37 made with a Misano red exterior and black interior. This car was well appointed from the factory, and it shows, even by modern standards the car feels fast, comfortable, and extremely understated. We think this is the ultimate daily driver for those who need to get places quickly. This car has had two owners since being sold as new from Porsche of Beverly Hills, CA. The current owner has kept immaculate care of the car and recently completed a $3,500 service with Paddock Imports. The paint shines with a vibrancy that looks better than new. The C5 variant of the RS6 was raced in the North American SPEED World Challenge GT Series for 3 years, from 2002 through 2004. The RS6 brought Audi to victory as the manufactures’ championship was secured by the C5 platform in all 3 years. We believe the C5 RS6 is in a class of underrated modern classics and value ratings on these cars are very strong in the present market. This car would be an ideal daily driver or a perfect.”

@garynett timing belt has not been replaced to the best of our knowledge. Based on age that would probably be a good idea for the next owner.

Is that a recommendation that the timing belt is replaced soon or was it already taken care of? Thanks

@ckelly011 thanks for your question and my apologies for the delay responding to you. There are no scratches, the car recently received a clay bar and sealant polish making the paint shine like new . The majority of the photos were taken prior to the detail work. However a few shots including #10 illustrate the current condition of the paint -- it is exceptional. The only known flaws are a few very minor rock chips in the front bumper, they are minute and difficult to see. The headliner is 100% in tact and looks fantastic

Nice car, just a few questions on the overall condition of the car and a few specific questions. In picture 68 and 69 it appears there are scratches, but the glare makes it difficult to fully see. Also, in picture 91 it appears that the headliner may be falling near the rear window, which is common.

Are there any other issues that I should be aware of?

    Thanks and GLWA
