Introduced at the 2001 Frankfurt Motor Show, the R230 SL-Class is equipped with an advanced retractable hardtop roof system and was Mercedes-Benz’s flagship grand tourer in the early 2000s. This 2003 example is an SL500 is finished in Alabaster White over a beige leather interior and features Active Body Control (ABC) suspension, COMAND navigation, a premium Bose sound system, multi-contour seats, and more. This SL500 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida showing less than 60k miles on the odometer.
Finished in Alabaster White (960), this R230 SL features straked grilles on the aluminum hood and front fenders. It rides on 17” 7-spoke aluminum wheels wrapped in Continental ExtremeContact tires showing date codes from 2020, and the matching retractable hardtop has had a cylinder service completed recently. Inside, this SL is upholstered in beige leather accented by burled walnut veneer on the dashboard, steering wheel, and door panels. The seller reports all gauges and electronics to operate as intended and states that no warning lights are present.
Powered by a 5.0-liter M113 V8 engine, the SL500 sends up to 302 HP and 339 lb.-ft. of torque to its rear wheels by way of a 5-speed 5G-Tronic automatic transmission. Standard equipment includes Active Body Control (ABC) suspension, anti-lock brakes, traction control, stability control, and Sensotronic electrohydraulic brake control. The CARFAX report notes service at Modern Masters in West Virginia in February of 2022 to include the replacement of an engine mount, valve cover gasket, starter, and transmission mount. Additionally, an oil change was performed as well as a brake fluid flush, brake line replacement, an induction system service, a throttle body service, and an alignment. The seller adds that a major service invoice totaling approximately $4k is provided in the gallery.

@Sweetcaroline09 There is no chips or scratches on the car and A/C blows ice cold. This car has been completely serviced and well maintained.

Impressive charge to repair the roof. For the amount charged, they could have replaced the wavey rubber on the piece on the passenger door. The fluid leaks through there and distorts the rubber. That's the first thing I look for in looking at one of these cars.
