This 2003 Porsche 996 Carrera 4S Coupe is finished in Midnight Blue Metallic over a Savanna Beige full leather interior and features a 6-speed manual transmission, optional supple leather seats, the Leather Package, Xenon Headlamp Package, Bose High-End Sound Package, Sport Exhaust System, stainless-steel exhaust pipes, and a front center console in leather. It has been under the care of its second owner for the last 15 years who installed modifications including a Bilstein PSS9 coilover suspension, custom three-piece BBS Strosek wheels, Rennline motor mounts, RSS drop links, and custom gold-painted brake calipers. This tastefully customized 996 has been fortified with an IMS bearing replacement and is now being offered for auction out of California with just over 83k miles showing on the odometer.

This 996 is finished in Midnight Blue Metallic and is distinguished as a 4S model from a standard Carrera by its wide fenders, flared rocker panels, Turbo-style bumpers, and reflector band spanning between the taillights. It has been customized with contrasting black vinyl-wrapped mirror caps, a Turbo front chin spoiler, gold-painted brake calipers, removable headlamp tints, and custom three-piece BBS Strosek wheels. An additional set of 19” Carrera S Lobster Claw wheels is included along with spacers and extended lugs. Other equipment includes an electric sunroof, a speed-activated rear spoiler, optional bi-xenon headlamps, clear side marker lights, and optional stainless-steel exhaust pipes. The seller notes some minor chips and scuffs are present throughout the exterior and the center section of the front bumper cover was repaired following the minor incident noted on the CARFAX report.

Inside, this C4S features Savanna Beige full leather upholstery with a matching Alcantara headliner and optional supple leather seats. Other options include Leather Package trim pieces, a front center console in leather, a three-spoke steering wheel in leather, and Savanna Beige vinyl-wrapped instrument dials. The car is also equipped with heated and power-operated front seats, driver seat memory, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, the Bose High-End Sound Package, a Porsche CDR23 stereo, aftermarket carbon-look trim for the center console and glovebox handle.

A naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Modifications include Rennline motor mounts, RSS drop links, and a new Bilstein PSS9 coilover suspension installed within the last 10k miles. The seller notes the IMS bearing and rear main seal (RMS) were replaced by Porsche Rusnak in 2011 along with the installation of a new clutch kit. The cooling system has also been overhauled with a new water pump, thermostat, coolant reservoir, and hoses.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, an air pump, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “This car is a sentimental car to the owner that he's spent 15 years caring for and appreciating its beauty and he's ready to move on to another project so he's looking forward to seeing this go to a good caretaker.”

@heritagegruppe Thanks for answering my questions. Is there anything else related to the condition that should be disclosed? Was there any drilling etc. inside the car for the roll cage or was it mounted to the standard seat belt anchor points?

@condor303 The windshield was cracked due to the mirror being removed and reinstalled when the seller removed the roll cage. He then had it filled with resin so that it won't expand. Black tape was just put there for the resin to dry in that section but the windshield needs to be replaced regardless.

Like all 996's this did have the common foam issue and the seller has fixed and cleaned out all the foam, when we run the ac or heater we haven't noticed any foam blowing out.

The bottom of the right side exhaust pipe has a small scrape at the back end of it but otherwise pretty clean considering the ride height, same with the rest of the undercarriage. Left tip has a small dent in it as you can see from photos.

Side mirrors vinyl wrapped black as mentioned previously, paint under the vinyl is in good shape.

The damages reported to it were under the care of the first owner and unfortunately there are no photos from them, the one photo we have is when the current seller shaved the front license plate section on the front bumper and repainted the bumper, I will upload that as well. Judging from the undercarriage when we were looking at it earlier today on the lift, there are absolutely no signs of any damage present. It was most likely a very minor incident that involved repairing and repainting the body panel, hence the repaint on the front end.

Stay tuned for the video review!

@condor303 Sorry for the delay, spent the day driving it to House Automotive for a DME report and to get undercarriage photos for you all, then finished all the filming. I'll be uploading all those photos, info, and videos tonight or tomorrow at the very latest and will answer all your questions soon!

    Thanks

Can you speak to the windshield at all? It looks like there is a vertical crack and there is a weird black patch on the exterior of the windshield.

Is there black foam that comes out of the A/C vents when you run the A/C and heat? If not, has the seller(owner) ever experienced anything with that or previously repaired it?

Are the bottoms of the exhaust tips scraped/dented? It looks like they are flattened from scrapping on a speed bump or something.

    Are the side mirrors black?

Are there any pictures or details from the prior accident?

Also, were there two accidents? Did one happen in 03/2007 and 01/2008?

Paint meter readings uploaded to the gallery, the front end has been repainted however the paint matches perfectly with the rest of the car.

We will be taking the car to House Automotive tomorrow morning to get undercarriage photos as well as DME readings for you all!

Double checked the tires on the BBS wheels and they look almost brand new with 80-90% thread all around.

Also don't forget that this has the super rare Porsche Factory Sport Exhaust with the silencer button! And that button does wonders especially if you're in a quiet neighborhood and don't want to wake your neighbors with cold starts!

Stay tuned for additional content tomorrow and the next day.

@divino The tires on the BBS wheels are dated 3919 and the Lobster wheel tires are pretty old and cracked I have to check the date but those need to be replaced. The ones on the BBS wheels have over 50% thread still and are soft with no cracking.

  • divino (registered bidder) 1 month, 3 weeksago

What’s the manufacture date of the tires?

The wrap was recently removed early this year.

  • heritagegruppe (seller) 1 month, 3 weeksago

@KingG Yes it was! This is the same car, the owner has removed almost all the modifications including the wrap. The wrap was on the car for 7 years and I was shocked at how well the paint remained underneath. It seems like going the expensive route with wraps is the best bet to preserve the paint underneath.

I will be uploading paint meter readings along with the DME readings undercarriage photos and a detailed video review!

    Thanks

  • KingG (registered bidder) 1 month, 3 weeksago

Was this car previously covered with a pearl white wrap with a Techart body kit? I'm going through the history of the car, and it seems to match. Seems like a good car, but I'd like to know if they are the same.

If so, how long ago was the wrap removed, and do you have any paint meter readings you can share?

  • heritagegruppe (seller) 1 month, 3 weeksago

@DigitalMango Yes the set of photos taken at the hangar with the Lobster wheels was the initial round of photos we did on the car prior to detail and installing the badge and changing wheels. After those photos the car was detailed, the badge added (seller purchased a new badge from Porsche) the wheels changed and taken to the studio for our second round of photos.

As for the service records, he's been doing minor maintenance items himself ever since he had the car including oil changes etc... although there are no invoices he has kept a record of each service he's done which is mentioned below:

Oil and filter change 1/17 @79k
    Water pump and Thermostat @79k
Oil and filter change 6/18 @80.2k
    Oil and filter change 8/19 @ 81.1k
Oil and filter change, front differential oil change 1/21 @81.7k
New MAF sensor and air filter 7/21 @82k
Crankshaft coolant plate replacement 8/21 @82k
New battery, new Bosch alternator and voltage regulator @82k
Oil and filter change 9/23 @82.7k

We will be taking the car to House Automotive for undercarriage photos, Inspection, and DME report so stay tuned!

Hi, I had a couple questions on the car. I’ve noticed on picture 5 on the listing the c4s badging has been removed, but it’s shown on the other photos with the white background. Has the badging been reapplied/removed? Also are there any recent service records? I took a look and noticed most of the ones listed were from 2011-2017

  • heritagegruppe (seller) 1 month, 3 weeksago

The car comes with both the BBS Strosek wheels AS WELL AS the OEM Lobsters and a set of spacers to make it sit flush.
