This 2003 Porsche 996 Carrera Cabriolet comes finished in Midnight Blue Metallic over a Graphite Grey leather interior and features a 6-speed manual transmission sending power to the rear wheels. Carrying the facelift from 2002, the second generation 996 received headlights derived from the Turbo model along with a new fascia, improved interior, and a larger 3.6-liter engine. Showcasing exclusive interior details including aluminum instrument dials and a painted center console, this 2003 example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas with approximately 66k miles on the odometer.
This 996 is finished in Midnight Blue Metallic and features a matching blue soft top which was replaced under previous ownership. The optional Xenon Headlamp Package is equipped and a set of aftermarket 19” wheels have been installed with colored Porsche center crests and new Michelin tires. Other customizations include aftermarket LED taillights and painted headlight trims. Minor signs of road wear are noted on the front bumper, additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, the Graphite Grey interior has been generously optioned with the Power Seat Package, Porsche crested headrests, aluminum instrument dials, aluminum shifter and brake inlays, Metropol Blue floor mats, deviating carpet color, and a rear center console painted in the exterior color. Modifications include OEM leather seat covers, a Pioneer stereo, and an integrated subwoofer.
A naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Stopping power is handled by fixed four-piston brake calipers paired with cross-drilled rotors front and rear. The CARFAX report includes 17 service history records dating back as far as 2003 and the seller states both window motors were replaced during their ownership.

Great looking car and I like the blue top. The gray top gets dirty and can show grease spots. When I started my business in 1995, a 1999 911 cab was my first reward to myself, and I loved that car so much. They have an induction noise absent from later 911s.
This car looks great. I think the rear wing is fun. Seems that back then everybody was doing aero stuff on 911s. Good luck to the seller. Great car...again.
Nice looking C2 Cabriolet. It’s a shame the soft top was replaced with blue, the two tone graphite gray over the blue is a stunning look IMO. GLWTA!

@whissm I have put about 3k on it since I have owned it and had the oil changed once. Not because it needed it. It was just because. ?. I personally knew the last 2 previous owners and they took impeccable care of the car. That’s why I was able to purchase the car without ever even driving it, when my friend gave me first right of refusal. Prior to that the history is unknown to me other than what has been presented. All I will say is that you will not find a more mechanically sound 2003 996 on the market. IMHO.

How long have you owned the car in terms of years and mileage? Looks like there were long gaps in the servicing especially oil changes. Any more information on this?

@K3N no apologies necessary. I did the ppi when purchased. Nov 2020. The only mechanical issue was the rear defroster and the driver window motor. They did all the work. So, I was able to use my funds on the new pioneer stereo/kenwood amp and subwoofer. Also installed a backup camera and ceramic window tent. This was done by Earmark in Plano. They do great work. Once I had the seats recovered, it was ready.

@jrtruman Auto Scope is very proud of the reputation they have built up for P.P.I.s chances are I have read the date codes incorrect and owe you a Heartfelt Sincere Apology. Was the inspection done in 2020 or 2022?
@K3N Had the car completely checked out at Auto Scope/Plano. Previous owner had replaced the front tires just before I purchased. I was told they were new. I replaced the rear tires at the time of purchase. 11/2020 with 63600 on the odometer. Happy to post the invoice or include pics of the tread.
@jrtruman Description states new Michelin tires. Photo 23 appears to show a July of 2013 date to me.

@jrtruman In the US (and possibly ROW - don't know for sure) there wasn't an S for the C2, only the C4. There was, however, the X51 option for the C2, which gave it a 25hp bump and a few other engine improvements, thereby creating what was essentially an S version. But it was never badged that way. It was an expensive option, too, adding $12,500 to the price.
@1822 It’s was there when I purchased. Don’t know if there is such a thing. It’s not a 4S.

@audios22 Yes, and there is so much clutch left on this car that I believe it’s been replaced. That would lead me to the conclusion that the IMS was probably done at the same time. However, I don’t know for sure.
@jrtruman OK. My 986 is at 45K miles and I'm not replacing IMS till i need a new clutch. I've talked to my mechanic extensively about the IMS issue. He said, "If it hasn't failed in the first 25K miles, it most likely will not fail with good driving practices. CHANGE THE OIL."
@1trvlr No, there is no crest. Sorry, I didn’t catch that in the write up. I had the seats recovered and they look great. Other than a few cosmetic vinyl spots, interior looks remarkable for an almost 20 year old car. Well maintained by all that had her before.
@audios22 I did not replace the IMS. However, as well as this car has been maintained I would be surprised if it hadn’t. After. learning about this issue after purchasing this car from a friend. I never worried about it. Less than 10% failed. This car runs and drives perfectly. Wonderful automobile.
