We are pleased to present this 2003 Porsche 996 GT2 finished in Black.  The 911 Turbo-based GT2 was introduced as the most high-performance road-going version of the Porsche 996.  Compared with a standard Turbo, the GT2 features revised bodywork, carbon-ceramic brakes, and a modified twin-turbocharged Mezger engine sending power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox.  This 2003 example was originally configured at a cost of over $187k with a black leather interior featuring deviated stitching as well as Exclusive factory options including carbon fiber door sills, a 3-spoke steering wheel in leather/carbon, Porsche crested headrests, Speed Yellow seatbelts, and shifter/brake handle trim in carbon/aluminum.  Having spent its life preserved in private collections, this rare 996 GT2 shows just over 5,600 miles on the odometer and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.

This GT2 is finished in Black and showcases wide Turbo-style bodywork along with a unique front fascia, side skirts, and a fixed rear spoiler.  This example is described to be in excellent collector-grade condition, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.  Yellow PCCB calipers can be seen behind the factory 18” Turbo Look II wheels which were dressed in new Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires in 2020 at 5,411 miles.

The black leather interior features yellow deviated stitching on the seats, dashboard, and door panels as well as Exclusive factory details including carbon fiber door sills with model logos, Porsche crested headrests, Speed Yellow seatbelts, a 3-spoke steering wheel with carbon-fiber trim, and carbon/aluminum trim for the shifter and handbrake lever.  The cabin stays true to its factory appearance and the seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional including the original CDR-23 radio.

The 3.6L twin-turbocharged Mezger flat-six engine sends as much as 456 HP and 457 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.  Acceleration from 0-60 MPH is achieved in approximately 4 seconds.  Standard performance features include a lowered sport-tuned suspension, adjustable anti-roll bars, and ventilated Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) with 6-piston calipers in front and 4-piston calipers in the rear.  CARFAX shows service history dating back to 2002 and recent maintenance addressed by Specialty Car Solutions in 2020 includes the replacements of the front strut mounts, both control arms, caster rods, and a complete vehicle alignment.

This sale will include a set of two keys, owner's manuals, and a clean title.  One of the rarest and most exotic variants of the 996, this nicely optioned, low-mileage GT2 makes an excellent investment as well as a fine addition to any Porsche collection.

@energyof2 GT versions stand the test of time and are way more fun to drive than a regular one so when you have to look at runny eggs at least it’s because you are about to or just had a really fun drive.

  • allthingsporsches (seller) 2 years, 10 monthsago

@KvN thank you so much for those wise words ! Very true !

  • KvN (registered bidder) 2 years, 10 monthsago

In my humble opinion, you guys should all give Mr. @allthingsporsches a break...

Throwing words around like "accident", willy-nilly, without a shred of evidence, is frankly threatening to pollute the chap's sales opportunity.

And such comments from individuals who likely have zero real Bid History? And I don't mean throwing in a silly $20,997 or a $15,993 and then never, ever following up... or actually *buying*something?

    Likelihood? = high.

After almost 2 years of looking, I bought a '12 997.2 TTM on here last December and as part of my own DD, in addition to simply reading the comments string, from a separate Province 2000 kms away from me (a Canadian sale), I phoned the nearest Porsche dealer to the Seller, and with everyone's valuable cooperation, paid the money to have the vehicle delivered and a full PPI done.

    GLWS to Seller & Bidders.

These are my views only. Thanks for reading.

Funny how the "fried egg" headlight debate seems to go away when we are talking about GT2's and 3's but it's such a thing when viewing a standard 911 996. Good luck with auction!

  • 911gt2 2 years, 10 monthsago

@allthingsporsches Sure thing: the GT2 specific part number is 996-505-311-32-G2X and even the factory parts diagrams show the unique bumper design and include the square holes. Googling the part number will provide diagrams and various photos of new/used units to anyone who wants to confirm.

  • allthingsporsches (seller) 2 years, 10 monthsago

@911gt2 show us how they came from factory , cuase that bumper is all factory !

  • 911gt2 2 years, 10 monthsago

The 996 GT2 front bumpers all had license plate bracket holes from the factory. They were square, not circular, and part of the OEM mold. Not drilled at port or dealer installed. This car looks like they’ve been filled and radiator mesh screens installed at a minimum.

  • lamacan (registered bidder) 2 years, 10 monthsago

    @allthingsporsches thank you.

  • allthingsporsches (seller) 2 years, 10 monthsago

@lamacan everything was done with oem parts ,and there are no issues with this car at all , car is mechanically 10 out 10 !

  • lamacan (registered bidder) 2 years, 10 monthsago

@allthingsporsches for the invoices, photos 43-45, which appear to be the work orders addressing the suspension work, it doesn't actually say that the issue was rectified after the work performed. can you confirm whatever "clunking" it references is now gone and within manufacturer specification? also, it says replace control arms with adjustable units but does not specify part numbers or that they are OEM or aftermarket? thank you.

  • allthingsporsches (seller) 2 years, 10 monthsago

@ObeOneKen not trying to hide anything here , posted everything possible to prove that clearly there was no accident just a pristine , serviced example that’s all , good luck to all the bidders

  • ObeOneKen 2 years, 10 monthsago

It may not have had an accident. Who knows. Good luck with your auction.

  • allthingsporsches (seller) 2 years, 10 monthsago

@ObeOneKen not sure of what kind of an accident the car has to get into that doesn’t involve paintwork on the body ? Nor hitting the Carfax these days , you guys are great I must say !

  • ObeOneKen 2 years, 10 monthsago

Is the suggestion that due to the work done, there was some front-end damage from an accident, an accident not appearing on the carfax? These are cool cars, but definitely a handful. I'm sure some of the folks that saw it in the metal could add value here for such an important car.

  • lamacan (registered bidder) 2 years, 10 monthsago

@allthingsporsches i think he's referring to some of the suspension replacement items but i wouldn't call any of that "lots of front end repairs."

@PORSCHE1 @jd-gt350 no more invoices no , what damage sir ? Stuff was replaced due to age and the owner having too much money ! The car is pristine , few people came to look At it today and both told me it was pristine , hope they comment on it here , I posted undercarriage pics as well , not sure what damage your looking for

  • PORSCHE1 (registered bidder) 2 years, 10 monthsago

    Hi,
Any other repair invoices? Any indication that the coolant pipes have been pinned? Lots of front end repairs and replacement on that low of mileage GT2. No paint meter will show that damage.

  • allthingsporsches (seller) 2 years, 10 monthsago

Undercarriage photos posted ! Undercarriage looks new! Dme report coming

  • allthingsporsches (seller) 2 years, 10 monthsago

@TomC you mentioned the car was in an accident , Wich that has never happened , it might have had aftermarket wheels on it at some point , as you can see by the paint meter readings this car was never touched all original , so definitely no accidents , I will get undercarriage photos for you ASAP

  • TomC (registered bidder) 2 years, 10 monthsago

I am reading the service reports and there have been front end parts and bushings replaced per the documents. All I am asking is why at this low mileage? are you able to send the undercarriage pictures? Also The DME report would be appreciated.

  • allthingsporsches (seller) 2 years, 10 monthsago

@TomC front end work ? What are you saying ? This car had never been repainted or any work to the front , please keep your comments to yourself

  • TomC (registered bidder) 2 years, 10 monthsago

I'm puzzled as to why so much front end work with such low miles?? I realize all the previous owners, was it in an accident that does not show up on the Carfax?
This might warrant some undercarriage photos and a DME report, Please
