The ultimate Porsche 911 of its generation, the 996 GT2 is based on the 911 Turbo and features increased power from its twin-turbocharged Mezger engine along with aggressive aerodynamic bodywork, refined track-focused suspension, and the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system. This 2003 example is one of just over 300 reportedly sold in the United States during the model’s production run and comes finished in Speed Yellow over a black leather interior with exclusive carbon fiber and aluminum trim pieces. The car is said to have been originally owned by a world-renowned actress and heiress prior to the current owner’s acquisition in 2015. The car has remained in the state of California ever since while subjected to fastidious maintenance performed by marque specialists. It was featured at Monterey Car Week in 2019 and was later used for an official Porsche commercial filmed at Willow Springs Raceway. A beautifully appointed example of one of the rarest and most highly sought-after Porsches in the modern era, this GT2 is now being offered for auction with approximately 18,500 miles showing on the odometer.

The GT2’s bodywork was adapted from the contemporary 911 Turbo and included a modified nose section with reshaped air intakes, a larger lip spoiler, and additional vent slits to extract air from the radiators. At the rear, a large manually adjustable spoiler is fixed into position on the engine lid. This example is presented in the unmistakable shade of Speed Yellow and features stainless steel exhaust pipes as an exclusive factory option. It rides on factory 18” Turbo monobloc wheels dressed in Yokohama Advan A052 tires from 2020. To preserve the exterior, this GT2 underwent an extensive application of clear paint protection film prior to its journey to Monterey Car Week in 2019. The car was later treated to cosmetic reconditioning by CMS Motorsports including minor paint touch-ups and wheel refurbishment followed by a complete detail. The seller notes that an accident occurred on a rainy day while under original ownership causing damage to the driver-side rear wheel and suspension, along with minor scuffs on the quarter panel. The car is said to have undergone meticulous repairs and was certified by a trusted Porsche dealer with no engine, transmission, or frame damage detected. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing damage to the left side in 2009.

This example is appointed with black leather and features the optional Carbon Package as well as exclusive seatbelts in Speed Yellow, Porsche-crested headrests, aluminum instrument dials, and carbon fiber door sill model insignias along with a shifter and brake handle trimmed in carbon fiber and aluminum. An upgraded Pioneer speaker system has been installed and the factory radio was retrofitted with a Bluetooth receiver for modern convenience while maintaining an original look.

The 996 GT2’s 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine was also adapted from the contemporary 911 Turbo and received larger turbochargers and intercoolers along with a revised air intake, exhaust system, and reprogrammed software for a 10% increase in power. As much as 456 HP and 457 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential. Stopping power is derived from a Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system including fixed monobloc calipers with 6 pistons up front, 4 pistons in the rear, and 350mm cross-drilled discs at each corner. The suspension is lowered by 20mm compared to the 911 Turbo and fitted with adjustable components as well as stiffer springs and dampers. The car was quoted with a 0-60 MPH acceleration time of approximately 4 seconds and a top speed of nearly 200 MPH.

Routine maintenance has been carried out by the specialists at Lucid Motors while under the current ownership and underwent major service at Scientific Automotive of Pasadena including the installation of a new clutch kit, crank seal, slave cylinder, engine and transmission mounts, spark plugs, and fluid replacements. The car was later entrusted to Werks 2 of Burbank where the suspension, power steering, and rear end were expertly rebuilt. More recently, A comprehensive pre-purchase inspection was performed by House Motorsports along with addressing minor maintenance items such as the fan shroud, front drop links, front driver passenger wheel liner, airbag service, and several other items listed in the accompanying service records. The seller adds that maintenance over the last 7 years was completed at a cost of over $20k.

This sale will include extensive documentation and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting our auction! The owner is excited to find a new caretaker for this beautiful Porsche GT2. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. Happy Bidding!”

  • Ohiolion (registered bidder) 10 months, 3 weeksago

    who was the actress?

  • heritagegruppe (seller) 10 months, 3 weeksago

@cap10danny PPF thickness is generally between 8-10 mils, paint thickness is between 3-5 mils. And the story makes it unique although there was an accident, the actress/heiress ownership history and the unaired Porsche commercial add sentimental value that can't be measured.

  • cap10danny (registered bidder) 10 months, 3 weeksago

A lot for a car that will always have a story. Ppf in the front of car make paint readings meaningless.

  • heritagegruppe (seller) 10 months, 3 weeksago

@Bode997 Sure is! And not to mention with a holy motor derived from the GT1's. We're getting into the last hour here, we appreciate everyone that's helped get it to this point, and although we can't specify the reserve price I will say that we are getting very close!

@bdr737 We do not. Logically speaking, we assumed that was the case. The car has been to 3 professional Porsche Specialty shops. All would agree on our assumption. Also its possible that the first owner might have reported it as a hit and run.

  • bdr737 (registered bidder) 10 months, 3 weeksago

The Carfax states accident with another motor vehicle. Seller represents it spun out and hit a curb. Can you clarify that?

I looked and do not have the vin. Also looked at your additional photo and if you aren't finding high readings up there it just might be another car.. GLWS

  • heritagegruppe (seller) 10 months, 3 weeksago

@JJMPCA I just uploaded an additional paint meter reading photo I had of the top of the quarter panel which measures 9.65. The car has been in LA since 2015 and NEVER listed for sale or consignment until this auction, and given the fact that there are 4 other Speed Yellow's in LA, I'm confident it was another car. If you have photos of your visit from 2021, please refer to the VIN number in your photos and you will see that it does not match. Also if you want another sign, this car has had Yokohama's on it since 2021 for your reference.

To my knowledge the car was on consignment and went back to the owner and did not sell. Also not disputing your paint meter readings, can you post some more throughout that rear quarter panel? Up and over the arch? also along the top of the quarter panel, that's where the readings were unusually high, not near the wheel arch which is where you measured. Maybe a good pic of the door sill that's clear that shows the lower right area, that area is cut off in your photos. It is possible there are 2 of these with the same spec, mileage and story.

  • heritagegruppe (seller) 10 months, 3 weeksago

@JJMPCA Given the fact that this car has been under the current ownership since July of 2015 and never once offered for sale let alone at a dealership, as well as my clear paint meter reading pictures, I'm 100% sure you have this car confused with another car. I can guarantee that this has never been offered for sale once since 2015 as well as my paint meter reading accuracy. And if needed we have no problem what so ever showing the car to the highest bidder with proof of funds.

  • JJMPCA 10 months, 3 weeksago

I looked at this car in 2021 and still have the pics and video I took upon inspection. Its a great car outside of the repair to the LR which was not initially disclosed to me but I discovered initially with the paint meter on the LR quarter panel. From my memory it read very high like 25-40 which indicated there may be some filler under there. That was somewhere around the top of the round arch on the quarter panel. I pointed this out to the dealer that had the car at the time as well as the tape marks and overspray in the drivers door sill area at the bottom. Upon this I asked if they would reach out to the prior owner for info and the story didn't match what we found, it was also odd that it was not originally disclosed. That said I had a top notch Porsche body guy look at it to give me a quote on what he thought it would cost to strip the quarter, straighten it out and repaint it. He also pointed out to me that while we had the car inside, with shade we noticed that the LR scoop was not the same shade yellow as the quarter panel, on the Pass side they matched, on the DR side they did not, he thought perhaps the scoop had not been repainted and the quarter was sprayed a slightly lighter yellow creating a small contrast that we didn't notice when the car was in the sun. That said we couldn't meet on a price that made sense given the unknown and I bought a black one which I love. I would encourage a close inspection of the quarter panel/paint.

@johnanthony No problem! Yes and it is still within spec, align-able, and no un even wear on tires or any pulling.

  • johnanthony 10 months, 3 weeksago

@heritagegruppe thank you for confirming, just a heads up, looking at image 133, the driver's side needed more adjustment (camber) to be even with the passenger side. The eccentric bolts in image 133, are set assymetrically (they are both aiming in the same direction). Usually eccentric bolts are symmetrical from left to right (mirror images of each other).

  • heritagegruppe (seller) 10 months, 3 weeksago

@Cytoboy the maintenance performed were solely because of the owner insisting on it as with a 35 car collection, he really likes to baby and pamper all his cars. Most of the maintenance done was in 2019 as he had decided to drive the car up to Monterey car week and insisted on Scientific in Pasadena going through the entire car and addressing all preventive maintenance items before the trip. Since then it has had minor upkeep items to ensure it’s in top shape.

  • heritagegruppe (seller) 10 months, 3 weeksago

@johnanthony the car was last aligned and corner balanced by Werks 2 in 2020. No problems with getting alignment right, and after driving the car personally i can guarantee there are no pulls or anything out of order.

  • Cytoboy (registered bidder) 10 months, 3 weeksago

A respectful yet provocative question comes to mind on this sub-20K mile car. Does the seller, or any others in the forum understand why there has been so much maintenance demand over the last 7 years? Should we expect, under normal usage to have an extensive service history? Perhaps I am naive regarding the 996 series, and GT cars in particular, but I have not experienced the listed services in over 100K collective miles in my 997 and 991 Porsches that I have used as daily drivers. Is there some relationship to lack of usage over the years? I sure appreciate any thoughts on this prior to my participation in the bidding sequence. Jeff.

@cgreco15 the car has not been raced on the track. The owner and the car were invited to Willow Springs by Porsche to be featured in a commercial that never aired, on that day the car was photographed and filmed there and trailered back home.

  • cgreco15 (registered bidder) 10 months, 4 weeksago

Has the car seen any track time?

  • heritagegruppe (seller) 10 months, 4 weeksago

@Craignyc Confirmed with seller that there are no additional invoices covering the damage from the body shop. The car did get an intensive PPI at House Motorsports right before our White Glove service, and if there was anything out of place the professionals there would have spotted it as well.

Let me know if you have any other questions and happy bidding!

@Craignyc I will double check with the seller to confirm, however from our previous conversations, the invoices photographed are the only invoices available and those invoices were handed down from the original owner. The body shop was a Porsche certified shop and the damage was mostly on the driver rear wheel and suspension components as the car slid and hit a curb. Minor scratches were incurred on the quarter panel which was repainted and fixed. And I can personally assure you that having spent a few days up close and personal with the car, you will not be able to tell that it had been in an accident before. Drives fantastic with no pulling or noises and looks like a top notch repair job.

Again, I will double check to confirm, and in the meantime please bid with confidence!

  • Craignyc (registered bidder) 10 months, 4 weeksago

I see the invoice, which also says worked performed by R&R Body shop, that invoice is not present. As the Porsche dealer invoice shows no charge which means they did nothing. Please see if you can locate the body shop invoice. Thank you. I am very interested in this car should the damage be minimal as stated.

  • heritagegruppe (seller) 10 months, 4 weeksago

    @Craignyc it’s in photos 165 - 177 please read the invoices carefully

  • Craignyc (registered bidder) 10 months, 4 weeksago

@vengerider here are some additional notes by the seller:

    PPF INCLUDES:
    Front bumper, not lower chin
    Hood
    Fenders
    Gas cap
    Side skirts
    Quarter splash guard
    Headlights
    Windshield
    Mirrors

    Also:
3rd brake light was replaced with a new one front Porsche with a new seal, and car was corner balance by Werks 2 and lowered an inch with 180lb in driver seat.

  • heritagegruppe (seller) 10 months, 4 weeksago

@vengerider sure, these are invoices in photos #165 - 177. The car has PPF on entire front end (fenders, hood, bumper) as well as the mirrors, and small areas prone to rock chips by the wheels)

  • Fu-Schnickens (registered bidder) 10 months, 4 weeksago

The stereo head unit looks a lot like a PCCM for Porsche Classic vintage cars (i.e. 993 and earlier). Interesting.

  • vengerider (registered bidder) 10 months, 4 weeksago

@heritagegruppe Can direct me to the invoice that shows the repairs? I don't see it. Also, can you confirm where the car has PPF installed? The other high paint readings would be repainted panels but tough to see.

    Thank you.
