A last comment....Forgot to mention in my post (with the disclaimer) no image can do the paint justice. I am super picky about paint colors and condition but in person this paint "pops" like no other blue I have seen. The seller is also one of the few people I know that I trust when he says the paint is flawless. There will absolutely be no paintwork required on this vehicle.

First a disclaimer.....the seller and I have been friends for a few years after we did vehicle business. The fact that we became friends after purchasing a vehicle should tell you something about his credibility. Second, this 996 Turbo is an absolutely remarkable car. The seller consistently spares no expense on any vehicle he has ever owned. Having owned a 996 tt myself, and after driving this car for a few laps on track, this car is hard to compare to a stock Turbo. It is totally unique and likely the product of the seller spending way north of $100k (he is not revealing the true number :-) ). So whoever winds up with this car will definitely not be disappointed. GLWTA and to all the final bidders.

@umby23 That’s actually a great question. Lots of used parts available online for this platform. Short answer is NO. I purchased everything new from the manufacturer when possible, or through a retailer ... with receipts to show for.

  • umby23 (registered bidder) 4 yearsago

@joelkrh thanks for the info. are any of the parts on the car used?

  • joelkrh (seller) 4 yearsago

@joelkrh Together with what the value of low mileage no story 996 Turbo X50 6-speed examples, somebody may get an insane deal - esp at where the reserve is set. If I had considered the part out and restore the stock parts route- I would have got more net sum incl reselling the upgrades.

That said, I rather find someone who loves and appreciates the car for what it is. It’s really a sharp, driveable, reliable 996 “GT2”.

“No expense spared“ on this car Is an understatement. Happy to get any interested parties on a call with the workshops that service it. And other enthusiasts who have sat in and seen this car.

  • joelkrh (seller) 4 yearsago

@umby23 I have an excel sheet I can share. It’s currently north of $55,000 over the last 3 years - you can also google the parts listed in the photos of this ad. I stick with the tried and tested, and as much as possible oem GT parts. Ie: 996GT2 Calipers instead of a Stoptech kit or Brembo.

  • umby23 (registered bidder) 4 yearsago

Did you ever calculate the total cost of the upgraded parts?

@Brown872 Absolutely, will you send me a private message with your cell or email? Happy to send you pictures of them.

Yes, rear seats, are included with all hardware. It was literally 4 screws to remove rear seats.

The car only had 28K miles when the new seat went in, so it’s honestly in as good a condition as you can probably find. There are some wrinkles in the leather from edge wear related to getting in and out of the car. However all original seating surfaces have no cracks or rips or color fade.

  • Brown872 4 yearsago

@joelkrh awesome. How about the rear seats? I saw where you said originals were included, but wasn’t sure if that was just the fronts or if it’s everything? Any chips/scrapes/dents not easily identifiable in the pictures?

  • joelkrh (seller) 4 years, 1 monthago

@Brown872 hi, it had a full oil change + filter + inspection on 1/8/2020 at Eurotech Motorsports in Natick, MA.

  • Brown872 4 years, 1 monthago

When was the last service/inspection performed and at which shop?

@pfanatic918 Thank you. I have the following parts that will be included in the sale:
    1. Original Decklid (As far as i am concerned its original paint on the deck lid. In full disclosure, the wing is set in the fixed position, but you can easily retrofit ram electronic raisers. I didn't go this route, as i think the GT2 decklid completes the look of the car)
    2. Original Seats (They are in excellent condition for 28K Miles) All electric function worked prior to removal
    3. Stock suspension with H and R Lowering springs - The original owner had installed the springs, this was how i received the car
    4. Original Head Unit, and Amplifier
    5. Couple of trim pieces prior to install the Carbon Fiber ones that are in the car right now
    6. Original Air Intake Cover (Single Snorkel)
    7. Original Wheels, they have been washed and ceramic coated - excellent condition as well
    8. Original Steering Wheel (This was CF as well)
    9. Original 996 Turbo Carbon Fiber Shift Knob

    Thanks!

What an amazing car. Are you able to list out all the original parts that will be included in the sale, and their condition?

  • joelkrh (seller) 4 years, 1 monthago

@Kevsgone Thank You! No it wasn’t, I did take it to the track, but I always rather use my E86 Z4M coupe with Moton Clubsport Coilovers + 4.11 diff :)

  • Kevsgone (registered bidder) 4 years, 1 monthago

@joelkrh thanks. It is a beautiful car. Was it used primarily a track car?

  • joelkrh (seller) 4 years, 1 monthago

@Kevsgone Absolutely, thanks for asking - We replaced the clutch as a tune was added:

Specifically, a Cobb Custom Dyno Tune: with 518HP and 520TQ at the wheels. - I wasn't sure how long the clutch would last with that increased power. Stock is 450HP at Crank. As a preventative, the coolant lines were being pinned, and hence a clutch job at the same time provided piece of mind, and the avoidance of dropping the engine twice.

  • Kevsgone (registered bidder) 4 years, 1 monthago

Curious about why the clutch was replaced so relatively soon at 28K mi. Any background information?

@cag4 Thank you, the goal was really to:
    1. Modernize the interior
    2. Transform the car to be as similar to a 996 GT2 that can actually be driven

Its been a tremendous car to own - and the most reliable one i have ever had yet.

Wow -- super 996TT! Looks like you've done all the modifications that should be done, along with some pretty tasteful upgrades. GLWA!

PS: I think you mean "Pinned" not "Pinched" coolant lines... which is a $3-$5,000 job, so buyer should appreciate its already done.
