Finished in Black over Graphite Grey full leather upholstery, this 2003 Porsche 996 Turbo Coupe is factory equipped with the exclusive X50 Turbo Power Kit as well as a 6-speed manual transmission and optional 18” Sport Techno wheels. It was acquired by the current owner in 2015 and has since been treated to extensive service and upgrades including billet diverter valves, GT3 control arms, monoball bushings, Tarett drop links, and MCS adjustable shocks. Driven just over 45,500 miles, this Turbo is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Massachusetts.

This Coupe is finished in Black with wide Turbo-specific bodywork including integrated side air intakes, flared rocker panels, unique bumpers, and a speed-activated rear wing. The car rides on factory optional 18” Sport Techno wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires from 2016. Clear paint protection film is applied to the nose section and the seller notes the car has seen track use on occasion. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The Graphite Grey full leather interior includes a matching Alcantara headliner and optional heated supple leather seats with adjustable lumbar support. The driver is also provided with automatic climate control, a sunroof, power accessories, a rear window wiper, and BOSE Sound System paired with an aftermarket Alpine radio. Some peeling is noted on the center console.

The 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine features the optional X50 Turbo Power Kit which adds larger K24 turbochargers and intercoolers, revised ECU programming, and a quad exhaust system for an output of 450 HP and 457 lb.-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission providing acceleration from 0-60 MPH in approximately 4 seconds. The engine has been upgraded with billet diverter valves and RSS Tarmac Series mounts. Upgraded slotted brake rotors were installed in 2016 along with new pads, fluid, and a wheel stud conversion kit, and the right front caliper was replaced in 2019. Other upgrades installed by the current owner include Numeric shifter cables, GT3 2-piece control arms with Tarett inner monoballs, MCS single-adjustable shocks, ERP solid puck thrust arm bushings, ERP inner monoball cartridges, ERP rear toe arms and monoball plates, Tarett drop links and front camber plates, and stiffer springs (450 lbs. front and 700 lbs. rear). Service was performed in 2015 at 22,658 miles including all new fluids and filters, a clutch accumulator, spark plugs, coil packs, and a water pump.

This sale will include a clean title, the original owner’s manuals, and service documentation.

The bids aren’t close yet. The Turbo Coupe with manual is the “bomb”. It’s the most desirable package. Start rolling your pennies and bid.

@skywalker27612 we appreciate everyone who makes contributions, however, we must ask that you refrain from making damaging comments that are not factual and incorrect. The IMS issue pertains to normally aspirated Carrera and Boxster models, not the Turbo models. Any further comments on the matter will be flagged by admin. Thank you for understanding and your cooperation.

  • red911sc83 (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@cknibbe Totally different engine than the M96.

  • red911sc83 (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@skywalker27612 Original shocks were shot. The customer scrapped them. I might have a radio that came out of a low mileage 2004 GT3 that I could include in the sale.

  • skywalker27612 (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@alexeverson tried to be sarcastic to the question ;).

  • skywalker27612 (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Assume original suspension components and original radio is not included?

  • alexeverson (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@skywalker27612 IMS bearing isn't a problem on these cars. Different engine than 996 please do your research before spreading misinformation.

  • skywalker27612 (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@cknibbe Don't buy 996 turbo. IMS bearing replacement is 3x more expensive because of the turbo ;)

  • cknibbe (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Nice looking car. Has any service been done on the IMS bearing?

  • red911sc83 (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@Autotrend Yes, works fine. It was put in the raised position when it was detailed.

  • Autotrend (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

all the photos show the rear wing in the RAISED POSITION. does the wing operate up and down automatically as intended? as we all know the hydraulics are notorious for failure and cost alot to repair. love those wheels

Just went with the refreshing excercise on mine that I bought here last April. This is what I would recommend, drop the free by bumper clean the radiators. Flush the coolant. Check your brake fluid, may need to be change. This cars mess with the mass air flow sensor, clean it with CRC. These engines don’t run too good on old plugs. Buy the plugs, coils kit from Fcp euro. At least change your spark plugs, if you see any cracks, go ahead and replace the coil or coils. Replace the serpentine belt. I have been told that the sumitomo htrz tires have like 85-90 percent of the performance of the michellins, yes you should replace the tires. Finally don’t be surprised if the car has a few vacuum leaks here or there, not do to mileage but age a few of the houses specially around the throttle body can have leaks. Once the car is sorted it’ll be a blast to drive, not that it’s not a n it’s current condition. GLWTS.

@red911sc83 Thanks for the response, something to budget for (tires for sure) and maybe a service to get her up to spec.

  • red911sc83 (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@Lombard_RAC It would definitely need tires. (2016) The owner might have put 1000-1500 miles on it in the past three years. He changes the oil every year before he drops it off at my shop for winter storage.

@sonderwunsche The coolant lines have not been pinned/welded. My customer didn't want to spend the money as he only did a few track days a year. I switched the coolant to distilled water/water wetter when he first started attending trackdays. Then went back to coolant in the winter of 2019. I've heard coolant lines popping out in 996tt's but have yet to see one/heard of one in the New England area. I've welded a dozen or so 996GT3's and CupCars.

  • sportscarguy3 (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@baworrell appreciate the information and reply
I didn’t know that, I just spent weeks and weeks and weeks searching for alternate wheels for my 2003
I wanted something a little darker than the turbo twist that come with the car and found a pair from a nice guy down in Paso Robles
Also, having my factory turbo, twists powder coated a little darker and anxious to see how those look
But agree with many these specific wheels look really good on this Porsche certainly better than the turbo twist in my humble opinion
    Good luck all

  • baworrell (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@sportscarguy3 better yet, those 18" Sport Techno Wheels are a factory option, option code XRC!

  • sportscarguy3 (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

    Very good looking Porsche 996
I was fortunate enough to take my 2003 out both Saturday and Sunday and enjoy some nice weather here in northern California
Just an incredible car to drive, and I’ve had several different types of Porsches over the years, this one just fits like a glove, and even without the X 50 package I seem to have more power than I need
That’s good looking Porsche. should do very well
Looking forward to the end of this auction
    Good luck all

  • luis.seneriz (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Nice car. Mine is an 03 triple black coupe. Not factory x50 but I have k24s hybrids, header, exhaust, gt2 intercoolers diverter valves and a light tune. I’ll probably go with a better tune and add the ipd plenum and bigger throttle body. Fast as it is but you just want more umph once you get used to it. Grey interiors not that bad as long as you stay on top of them, use leatherique .

  • skywalker27612 (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Normally don't mind grey interrior but in 996 I defenitely do to quality of it. 996 scratches and chips so easily. You can see in this one around seats, ignition, center stack, etc.. Unfortunate low quality in 996. I have one with a black and I am always careful but those nicks are not as visibile.

  • sportscarguy3 (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

What are well sorted Porsche 996 TwinTurbo
Really good looking exterior don’t you think
Agree with others, never been a fan of the light, graphite gray interior, but it sure is clean.
Also these aftermarket spoke wheels are a really good look on this Porsche.
I just enjoyed driving my 2003, 996 TT yesterday, here, in Northern California, and looking forward to today’s drive as well
45,000 miles is a good number , I would suggest, for driving Without concern for adding mileage
This handsome Porsche. should do well
    Good luck all

  • 38ZFX (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

    @ baworrell
I agree those wheels look the best

  • baworrell (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@38ZFX I bought my ‘03 silver X50 because of the Sport Techno wheels! For my tastes, they look superior to the very common turbo twist wheels. I will be watching this one closely. GLWTS!

  • Blubusdrvr (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

I'm personally not a fan of the grey either but this is one special car. These x50's don't get the respect they deserve. People lump these in with the rest of the Turbo's: Don't. These are a whole different animal. If you aren't a fan of the Techno wheels: they go for a pretty penny as not many opted for these. Sell 'em and put whatever wheels you decide. Great low mile example.

  • Ohiolion (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@38ZFX totally agree. awesome car. I had the grey interior on a yellow car. wish I had ordered black.

  • 38ZFX (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

I think these wheels look the best on turbo. Nice wide spokes!

  • 38ZFX (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Beautiful car unfortunately I’m not a big fan of this grey interior that’s very light including the dash.
