Presented in Midnight Blue Metallic over a Graphite Grey full leather interior, this 2003 Porsche 996 Turbo Coupe is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission paired with a twin-turbocharged Mezger flat-six engine. It was generously configured at an original sticker price of over $131k including the optional Turbo Aerokit, Sport Seats with painted backrests, embossed headrests, the Aluminum/Chrome Package, and Porsche Communication Management (PCM). Purchased by the seller about two years ago, this 996 Turbo is now being offered for auction out of New Jersey with approximately 64k miles showing on the odometer.

This 996 is finished in Midnight Blue Metallic with the optional Turbo Aerokit including an extended body-colored front spoiler and a larger bi-plane rear wing. It also features quad stainless-steel exhaust pipes as part of the optional Aluminum/Chrome Package. Other equipment includes bi-xenon headlamps, fog lights, side skirts, integrated air intakes, a speed-activated rear spoiler, a rear window wiper, red brake calipers, and 18” 911 Turbo wheels with model logo center caps. The seller indicates paint correction was performed under their ownership along with restoration of the front spoiler and a full application of ceramic coating. The car's front quarter is preserved by clear paint protection film and some minor imperfections are noted on the front bumper cover. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The Graphite Grey full leather interior includes a matching Alcantara headliner and optional power Sport Seats with painted backrest shells and Porsche crested headrests. The optional Aluminum/Chrome Package also adds aluminum-look instrument dials and stainless-steel door entry guards with model logos. Other accessories include a three-spoke leather steering wheel, Porsche-branded floor mats, automatic climate control, cruise control, an electric sunroof, a Bose sound system, and Porsche Communication Management (PCM). The cabin is described to be in excellent condition with all accessories and electronics remaining fully functional.

Rated at 415 HP and 415 lb.-ft of torque, the twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine in the 996 Turbo was derived from the Le Mans-winning 911 GT1 race car. It sends power to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission, providing acceleration from 0-60 MPH in approximately 4 seconds. Stopping power comes from fixed 4-piston brakes with 330mm cross-drilled discs at each corner. The seller reports that routine maintenance has been kept up to date and the fluids and filters were recently replaced.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a toolkit, a spare tire, an air pump, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “This car is ready to go with zero issues for the next caretaker. A true investment to come with fewer of these cars becoming available with the factory options that this one has. A pretty rare color combination as well. During my ownership I've done everything to the car that would make it ready for the next owner including a two-stage paint correction and ceramic coating. The car is not getting the use it deserves and unfortunately, it's time for someone else to enjoy it.”

I also have a 2003 Aerokit Turbo. To the best of my knowledge, only 45 Aerokit Turbos were made in 2003. It was an $,8000 factory option.

These Mezger turbo engines are practically bullet proof. Possibly the best engine Porsche has ever made. Years from now these cars will be high sought after. I've seen these engines go for hundreds of thousands of miles with no internal issues.

@merlin12 Turbo S was only in 2005. Prior to that you had to get the x50 option for the turbo s power. I believe x50 was 2003 & 2004. My 2003 x50 still had second gear pop out issue so that was not solved in 2003. I'm not sure if it was ever truly solved for any year 996 Porsche.

  • merlin12 (registered bidder) 1 month, 3 weeksago

The 03 is the one to get. It is the last year of the 964 made in germany stamped on the block, and the second gear pop out issue has been resolved. plus coupe, manual, only ones more desirable would be the turbo s, and one with x50 package, at least that is my understanding.

Beautiful car. Wish mine was this color combo. Now I have quite a bit of money invested in my 700 hp plus 2003 triple black beast. This car is the right color, best year and good miles so you can drive and enjoy. GLWTA

I have almost this exact same 2003 Aerokit car. Mine is Seal Gray but the Midnight Blue is fabulous! To my knowledge, only 45 Aerokit cars were made in 2003. My car is amazing. I'll be watching!

  • Cedwards (registered bidder) 1 month, 4 weeksago

    @Tangerine977. Thank you!

  • Tangerine997 (seller) 1 month, 4 weeksago

@Cedwards, Yes, that rear wing is fixed rather then the speed-activated spoiler that's standard on the 996TT and prone to fail which would need to be replaced with one of the aftermarket electronic "Ram Kits" that are available.
That fixed bi-plane wing is designed to work with the OEM front spoiler to create the proper down force.
When I purchased the car it had the normal black plastic front lip spoiler that comes with any non aero kit car.
I ordered the correct spoiler, had it color matched and installed.
The car now looks like it did when it left the factory.
The sunroof works as it should, as does both door windows.
I will take videos of them and have Pcar post them later today.
    Thanks for your interest.

  • Cedwards (registered bidder) 2 monthsago

    Good morning.

Lovely vehicle. I am looking to upgrade from my base 996.2 with ~67K miles to a 996 turbo that I will not feel guilty driving. This seems to fit the bill. I have a few questions:

    1) I am not familiar with the functionality of the bi-plane rear wing. Is it fixed or does it move up and down at a certain speed? If the latter, can you provide a video or picture of the wing in the up position and confirm that works correctly?
    2) Can you confirm the sunroof works properly?

    Thank you!

Hello everyone and welcome to this auction for this very well kept 2003 996TT.
I will be available for the entire auction to answer any and all questions anyone may have.
First, I feel a need to point out exactly what makes this one so special in the world of 996 Turbos.
As many of you may know, this car had a five year production run from 2001 thru 2005.
This one being a 2003 model, it has two things that set it apart from the other years.

    1. It got the upgraded transmission that eliminated the "pop out gear" issue that was present in the 01 and 02.
    2. It's the last year for the "Made in Germany" stamp on both sides of the engine cases.
After that they were made in Spain, Austria, and I believe Czechia.
Why is that important? From an investment stand point it's a Mezger engine that come from the GT1 race cars.
All five years had the Mezger engine, just that this one year is extra special.

Aside from that, the color combo is somewhat rare with Midnight Blue not seen much and having only 152 units in this color produced in 2003 with 124 of them in manual.
That and the factory aero kit with sport seats and matching hardbacks in Midnight Blue make this one anything but "Corn Flakes and Milk".

Yes, the mileage may be a bit more then most would like to see, but being a "Mezger" it's just getting broken in.
These cars are meant to be driven and enjoyed, not stored away collecting dust.
I have kept it in my climate controlled garage since I took ownership of it and would exercise it each month on top of doing the proper maintenance it deserves.
I also did what was needed to make it 100% pleasing to the eye as I do with all of the cars in my stable.
I'm a long time PCA member who has a true love for these cars which hopefully gives everyone a good comfort level when bidding.

    Thanks for taking a look.
