We are pleased to offer this 2003 Porsche 996 Turbo finished in Black.  Equipped with the coveted 3.6L Mezger engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, this 2003 Turbo also came factory optioned with Exclusive Sport Techno wheels along with a premium black full leather interior featuring supple leather seats, the Aluminum/Chrome Package, Porsche crested headrests, and Custom Tailoring.  It was acquired by the seller in 2014 from its original owner out of the Bay Area in California and is said to have always been garage-kept while receiving proper annual maintenance.  Sparingly driven and nicely optioned, this 996 Turbo shows just under 9k miles on the odometer and is now being offered for auction by its second owner out of California.

This Turbo comes finished in nonmetallic Black and features stainless steel tailpipes as part of the Aluminum Chrome Package (Y29).  Some very light swirl marks are noted in the finish and the seller reports the left rear quarter panel and rear bumper to have been previously refinished to address minor scrapes. Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.  This Turbo rides on factory Exclusive 18” Sport Techno wheels dressed in brand new Sumitomo HTR Z5 tires.

The driver is situated within a black full leather interior featuring supple leather front and rear seats as well as a storage compartment lid with embossed model logo and Exclusive Porsche crested headrests.  The optional Aluminum/Chrome Package also adds stainless steel door sill guards with model logos along with aluminum-look instrument dials.  Other amenities include adjustable lumbar support and a remote 6-disc CD changer.  The cabin is described to have been very well-kept throughout the years with only minor scuff marks present on the door sills.

This 996 carries the legendary 3.6L twin-turbocharged Mezger flat-six engine derived from the GT1 Le Mans race car.  This dry-sump engine produces as much as 415 HP and 415 lb.-ft of torque which is distributed to all four wheels through a desirable 6-speed manual transmission.  The Turbo model was also factory equipped with a stiffer suspension, larger four-piston monobloc Brembo brakes, and Porsche Stability Management (PSM) with ABS and Automatic Braking Differential (ABD) as standard equipment.  The seller states that annual oil changes have been carried out from new and that the car has recently received a full service and inspection.

This sale will include a set of two keys, owner's manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.  With its race-derived engine, 6-speed manual gearbox, and generous arrangement of factory options, this low-mileage 996 Turbo makes an excellent investment opportunity as well as a fine collector’s item.

@Chimed23 sorry I do not have a meter. Thanks.

  • Chimed23 (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

@bsunday thank you for the clarification. Is there any chance you might have a paint meter to provide a few readings in that area?

  • bsunday (seller) 2 years, 7 monthsago

@Chimed23 correct to repair a very small bump in the rear fender and to clean up 2 small scrapes in the rear bumper while they were fixing the fender, done by a very reputable high end body shop in the bay area. it came out perfect.

  • Chimed23 (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

The left rear quarter panel and rear bumper have been repainted, is that correct?

@faskitty Hi thanks for your interest @faskitty I have records for the few services I did with the dealer or shops, and the other annual oil changes I did myself. It has always passed and very recently passed Ca smog (see carfax report) it doesn’t have a DME but this car has been babied by the previous owner (my brother in law who was the original owner) and myself. Sorry I can’t get a PPI done in time the auction ends in 23 hours. I did very recently have the car gone through top to bottom by a super reputable classic Porsche shop (they found the actuator problem mentioned below where a previous dealer inspection they wanted to replace the whole unit, this is a great shop). Lmk if you have any other questions. Thanks, Bill

A bit late to the party but a couple of questions. Any service records for the last 5 years ? Will it pass cal smog? DME report ? Can you make the car available for a PPI at SCargo before auction ends ?

  • bsunday (seller) 2 years, 7 monthsago

@viavaquero Hey @viavaquero / Walt, yes everything works . You must know these cars well as the spoiler had a sticky actuator which I just replaced and its working perfectly now - it goes up at 75 mph and down at around 37 mph, and it goes up and down smoothly and promptly with the dashboard up and down button as well. No hydraulic leaks. Other than the normal services, the actuator, the battery and tires are the only things I have replaced on this car. Such a solid car sad to see it go. Everything else is in working order. Thanks and lmk if you have any other questions, and thanks for your interest. Bill

Hello Bill, I assume everything on our Porsche 911 Turbo works as it should? Yes?
Does the rear wing function properly, going all the way no and down, with NO hydraulic leaks? Thanks, Walt
