Available for auction is this 2003 Porsche 996 Carrera Cabriolet finished in Carrara White over a Metropol Blue interior. At an original sticker price of over $87k, this 6-speed 2003 example came factory equipped with the Bose High-End Sound Package, Xenon Headlamp Package, the Power Seat Package, 18" wheels, and more. It was acquired by the seller in the Fall of 2021 and has since been treated to a new alternator and belt, battery, and an inspection of the original IMS bearing. Showing under 34k miles on the odometer, this Carrera is now being offered for auction out of Florida.

This Cabriolet is finished in nonmetallic Carrara White with a power-retractable soft top in Metropol Blue. Factory options include Xenon headlamps and 18” light alloy Carrera wheels currently dressed in a set of Michelin tires. A new soft top is said to have been fitted under previous ownership along with convertible top motors, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

This Carrera sports a Metropol Blue interior with the optional Power Seat Package, front-seat lumbar support, and a Porsche Windstop (deflector). The seller describes the cabin to be in very good condition and confirms all gauges and accessories to remain fully functional apart from the light on the radio.

Power comes from a naturally aspirated 3.6L flat-six engine that sends up to 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Stopping power is handled by fixed four-piston brake calipers paired with cross-drilled rotors front and rear.  The CARFAX report includes 16 service history records dating as far back as 2002, and the seller reports the alternator, belt, and battery to have been replaced during their ownership. The IMS bearing is also said to have been inspected and noted to be in sound condition.

This sale will include a clean title. Sparingly driven and equipped with a desirable manual gearbox, this Carrera is just waiting to be enjoyed.

Looks to be a beautifully well maintained 911...low miles and an eye-catching color combo. The perfect weekend cruiser, daily driver, autocross...the new owner will have it all with this one. GLWS!

I’ve had the opportunity to see this car in person and take it for a drive. I personally know the current owner and can say that it is a well cared for low mile 911. Not only is the color combination classic, it suits the 996.2’s generation well and will continue to mature beautifully, just as we have witnessed over the last few years. As a 911 enthusiast I can say, this is very clean and well sorted. The next “steward” has quite the opportunity here. GLWS!

@Mercyhealth Working on downloading video and interior. If you would like to arrange an DME and etc it would be ok. The old fellows who had it before me only drove it Sunday morns for breakfast it seems. I've never hit red line. Engine runs great.

  • Mercyhealth (registered bidder) 2 years, 1 monthago

@CarlT nice looking car can you add more interior pictures? You have 12 shots and that is not enough in a 19 year old 996. Especially in a non full leather spec like this one has. Also can you describe what visual inspection of the IMSB entails? Unless when you shake the bearing it sounds like a morocco without removing the plastic side casing you can’t tell the condition of the ball bearings or how much grease has been washed out.

Can you post a cold start, walk around, and cab function videos along with DME including over ignition report and cam deviations?

I have the same car but in Speed Yellow with roughly the same mileage. Absolutely love it! Really fun, zippy car to drive. Shockingly, I enjoy driving it a little more than my 2004 Speed Yellow Turbo Cab. (Obviously, I love Speed Yellow!) My Turbo is a beast but two totally different cars.

Last year, I had a very small oil leak from my main seal. Once I had it all apart to repair the main seal, I went ahead & replaced the clutch & IMS bearing. Piece of mind!

  • CarlT (seller) 2 years, 1 monthago

The car is in Hallandale, Fl. Thanks for the inquiry. It's a lovely machine.

  • AndrewK (registered bidder) 2 years, 1 monthago

I live in Florida and very interested in your vehicle. Is it possible to be viewed in person?

  • CarlT (seller) 2 years, 1 monthago

@wrose The car needs nothing as far as I know. Runs well. Lovely car. Time will tell if it passes the reserve. I paid top dollar for this since the previous owner had replaced a new a top, new top motors and AC.

  • wrose (registered bidder) 2 years, 1 monthago

@CarlT Thank you for your response .
Does it need any service before a long roadtrip ?
How soon after auction end would it have to be picked up?
    Thank you
    Wayne

  • CarlT (seller) 2 years, 1 monthago

@CarlT yes there are fair mechanics here. It doesn't have heated seats to my knowledge.

  • CarlT (seller) 2 years, 1 monthago

@wrose My two great mechanics here concur it is not needed. Runs great.

  • wrose (registered bidder) 2 years, 1 monthago

@CarlT Is all maintenance up-to-date? does it have heated seats?
Do have a local Porsche specialist shop that would do the IMS bearing before pick-up if I were to win the auction.? I would be driving it back to Nova Scotia .
    Thank you
    Wayne

  • CarlT (seller) 2 years, 1 monthago

I do love this car. It runs and rides great. But living in a high rise, having only one space and having to pay to park three other cars, I am selling this beautiful specimen.

  • CarlT (seller) 2 years, 1 monthago

@Jgvelez1 Less than 5% fail. We had the crankcase removed to look for plastic and metal. None was there. Doesn't need a clutch but if and when it does, then the bearing will be replaced.

  • Jgvelez1 (registered bidder) 2 years, 1 monthago

Why would you go through the trouble of inspecting the IMS and not replacing it when you know it could lead to a catastrophic failure?

  • CarlT (seller) 2 years, 1 monthago

    It is a beautiful car.
