Up for auction is this 2003 Porsche 996 Carrera 4S Coupe finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a Graphite Grey interior.  Featuring the wide fenders, bumpers, and 18” wheels of the 911 Turbo along with a 6-speed manual transmission sending power to all four wheels, this Carrera 4S also came optioned with full leather upholstery, heated front seats, the Bose High-End Sound Package, and Porsche Communication Management II.  It was sold new from Porsche Exchange of Highland Park and remained with its first owner in Illinois up until 2006 before moving to Nevada and eventually being acquired by its seller out of California earlier in 2021.  Benefitting from an LN Engineering IMS bearing upgrade performed by an authorized Porsche dealer, this two-owner Carrera 4S is now being offered for auction with just over 65k miles showing on the odometer.

This 4S comes finished in Arctic Silver Metallic and features wide fenders, Turbo-style bumpers, and a model-specific reflector band spanning between the taillights.  The seller notes one small imperfection in the clear paint protection film applied over the front bumper as well as some scrapes beneath the bumper and a minor chip on the upper edge of the driver-side air inlet.  Clear paint protection film extends across the nose section and mirror caps and the seller believes the hood to have likely been refinished, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.  This 996 rides on factory 18” Turbo-look wheels fitted with 4S-logo center caps and a set of Michelin Pilot Sport N3 tires dated from 2018.

Inside, the driver is greeted by a Graphite Grey full leather interior with heated power-operated seats, the Bose High-End Sound Package, and Porsche Communication Management II.  Full power accessories are equipped as standard along with dual-zone automatic climate control and driver-seat memory settings.  The clutch pedal spring has been recently replaced along with the driver-seat cushion and heating element.  The cabin is described to be in excellent condition with all features and accessories working properly.

This 996 is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.6L flat-six engine rated at 315 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque.  All four wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission while stopping power is handled by fixed four-piston brakes derived from the 911 Turbo.  Standard performance features include Porsche Stability Management (PSM) and an Automatic Brake Differential (ABD).  The seller reports an LN Engineering IMS bearing upgrade to have been carried out by a Porsche dealer at 42k miles and notes a full service has been completed in preparation for sale include an oil change and brake fluid flush.  Additional maintenance history can be found on the CARFAX report.

This sale will include a set of two keys, owner's manuals, a toolkit, jack, air pump, and a clean title. If you have been in search of a 996 Carrera 4S, this nicely presented 6-speed 2003 example is not to be missed.

@CARS458 Since the paint/body damage is literally front and center, are you saying you’ll “remove, spray, and replace” or are you saying you’ll agree to “get it redone” as in, do whatever it may require to get rid of the deep dent and creases (and back to normal smooth)?

I never run a front plate, so I want to know if my new 911 will have a clean front.

  • CARS458 (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

    @viavaquero
sorry not sure what more I can add on the bumper conversation other than posting that if the new owner wants the bumper redone I would do that for them, you do make a good point tho.
As far as mechanical stuff we can only go by whats on the invoice which shows no record of the clutch being done, I did have a full check up and serivce done on it, did the brake fluid and the cluitch pedal spring because the clutch pedal was hard, the new spring made it a ton better, clutch has great feel and engagmenet, I tried to demonstrate in the driving video.

To me the marks/dent on the front bumper looks like a common issue when the front license plate bracket get pushed up against the front bumper.
I did not see the wheel lock adaptor in any photos, does this Porsche come with one?
Also I did notice a picture of the L&N sticker on any area of the Porsche that indicates this Porsche had the replacement, the sticker has the IMS number, this is very important. Strange the clutch was not replaced at the same time the RMS & IMS work was done.
Thank you for your thoughts on these items.

@CARS458 To be clear: The bumper needs filler and sanding, if not a new bumper altogether. There are large visible horizontal and vertical creases, as well as a pretty deep dent. Please post some close-up photos, it would put us at ease.

@MattsPorsche If a winning bidder would like the front bumper re-fininshed I would gladly cover the cost and do that for them(you).
we would remvove the bumper, have the shop repaint with quality paint and cleaer coat, re-install before it leaves to go to the new owner.

  • CARS458 (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@MattsPorsche as far as estimate I wont have the time for, but wil work with buyer on taking care of it.

  • MattsPorsche 2 years, 3 monthsago

@CARS458 Hmm. In Photo #6, there appears to be a decent-sized dent above the front license plate hole. It’s not the protective film from the looks of it.

Would you mind sharing some background or a close-up photo? Better yet, a free estimate from any local body shop? Thanks! Looking forward to bidding.

  • CARS458 (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@MattsPorsche The small imperfection on the front bumper could be from the PPF that’s on there, I did not try to remove the PDF to see how the bumper looks underneath but certainly didn’t want to mess with it because the front bumper paint is original and looks perfect and didn’t want to mess it up just because of one small thing, also that’s the part of bumper that hides behind the front license plate

Do you have a body shop estimate for the front bumper? Seeing some horizontal and vertical crumple lines between the front plate holes.

@Nt1992 no sorry as shown in the invoice they did not to the clutch. I had the shop do the following about 2 weeks ago
    Service
    Brake fluid
Driver seat foam(heated seat wasn’t working)
    Clutch pedal spring
    Clutch tested fine

  • Nt1992 (registered bidder) 2 years, 3 monthsago

Was clutch replaced during IMS service?

@JamesSheedy sure, will post that today, the exhaust on there although sound great they are very mellow tone, this car could really shine with a quality aftermarket exhaust , like Tubi or something from Fabspeed, I wanted to leave the car stock otherwise I would have put one in, I have a personal Boxster S (2007) that I’m going to put a fabspeed in. Will follow up with videos today

  • JamesSheedy 2 years, 3 monthsago

Can you upload a cold start and driving video please? Would love to hear how the engine sounds! Thanks

or if you could just ignore the blue, alot of it is from the blue tint on the windshield and how the lighting reflects it on to the interior

  • CARS458 (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

sorry for all the blue in my interior pics, I didn't realize I had water on my camera Lens, will up date today
