Now up for auction is this 2003 Porsche 996 Carrera Coupe finished in Orient Red Metallic. This 2003 example was originally sold in California where it has remained in excellent condition throughout its entire life while accumulating just over 42k miles. Highlighting factory 18” wheels, a Graphite Grey leather interior, the Bose Sound System, and a 6-speed manual transmission, this Carrera is now being offered on behalf of its 3rd owner in Alaska, by its seller out of San Juan Bautista, CA.
The Orient Red Metallic finish is described by the seller to be original and exceptional condition. Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX. Optional factory equipment includes Litronic Xenon headlamps with washers and 18” Carrera 5-spoke wheels.
Inside, this 996 features a Graphite Grey interior with optional leather upholstery on the front seats, rear seats, dashboard, and door panel inserts. Other factory specifications include 8-way power seats, the Bose Sound System, and heated front seats. Some imperfections can be seen on the driver’s seat and the seller indicates the cabin to be in otherwise superb condition with all gauges and accessories remaining fully functional including the original radio.
This Carrera is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.6 L flat-six engine rated at 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque. A desirable 6-speed manual transmission drives the rear wheels while the factory optioned Porsche Stability Management (PSM) system provides refined driving dynamics. This example is said to be mechanically stock and up to date on all routine maintenance. A recent oil and filter change was carried out along with an inspection of the engine and IMS bearing which found no issues. The IMS bearing has not yet been addressed.
This sale will include a clean Alaska title. A truly well-presented example, this 996 makes an excellent choice for any discerning driver.
Thank you for the explanation and details on the seat. Much appreciated.
The owner of the 911 had the seat treated by an interior specialists. The specialists suggested that a number of additional treatments would be needed to soften up the leather further. The leather seat is not cracked at all. The leather did soften from the first treatment. He also suggested the seat would likely need to be re-stained to match the others leather seats. The specialists thought the drivers side window must have remained open a bit and moisture got on the seat. Just the seat portion is affected. Inspection was done of all the areas surrounding the seat such as underneath the seat, under the driver's side floor matt and carpet. No other water signs were observed and no smells were noticed.
Could you take some additional pictures of the drivers seat leather to show the condition? Trying to understand the true condition and what it will take to repair or recondition. Thanks - great color car!

nafs The current owner, after purchasing the 911, came down with the Covid and when he was able got quotes to ship the 911 from CA to Anchorage, Alaska, the shipping price was so high he asked me to sell it for him. The CA title was sent to the buyer after payment was received and he titled it in Alaska.
Exhaust is stock, including the tips. I have a 2000 Porsche 911-4 with the same Porsche Factory Exhaust . Thanks for you interest
energyof2 The Porsche was never shipped to Alaska, it remained in CA
Would be nice to get an explanation of what happened after the BaT auction and why the car was titled in Alaska. Also, the exhaust tips do not look stock, is there an aftermarket exhaust on this?
So went to Alaska and immediately for sale? Nice color.
