The first 911 Turbo of the new millennium, the 996 version features a water-cooled 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine derived from the GT1 Le Mans car. This 2003 example is finished in Seal Grey Metallic over a generously optioned Black full leather interior with Exclusive aluminum instrument dials and carbon fiber trim. It is also equipped with a desirable 6-speed manual transmission and has been modified with a rear-wheel-drive conversion, a GT2-style rear wing, and a Fabspeed exhaust. This 996 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California showing approximately 68k miles on the odometer.

Presenting Turbo-specific bumpers, wide fenders with side air intakes, flared rocker panels, and red-finished brake calipers compared to the standard 911, this Turbo Coupe comes finished in Seal Grey Metallic. Aftermarket modifications include a GT2-style rear wing, tinted taillights, and a rear windshield wiper delete. The factory 18” Turbo Twist wheels have been recently powder-coated to match the body color, and are dressed in Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires from 2021. The seller notes clear paint protection film spans the front of the car up to the door pillars. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The interior is upholstered in Black full leather including optional leather Sports Seats with custom-painted backrests. Other options include aluminum instrument dials, a carbon fiber shifter/handbrake with aluminum inlays, and a 3-spoke carbon fiber and leather steering wheel. The car is also equipped with dual-zone automatic climate control, an electric sunroof, and a touchscreen Pioneer radio with Bluetooth and satellite radio receivers. The seller notes the fuel gauge is occasionally inaccurate, but all other gauges, electronics, and accessories work properly.

This 996 Turbo Coupe is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine that was factory-rated at 415 HP and 415 lb.-ft of torque. The front drivetrain has been removed, and power is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. A Fabspeed Maxflo Performance Exhaust System has been installed, and a custom cat-less exhaust is included in the sale along with a Marksi ECU tune which were both removed in compliance with California emissions requirements. The seller notes that the car has been regularly serviced and an oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.

This sale will include a clean title, car cover, spare tire, toolkit, and owner’s manuals.

The seller would like you to know: “This is my first 996 Twin Turbo Porsche and having been fortunate enough to own and drive several other Porsche models over the years I have to say this 996 TT is a very unique and incredibly enjoyable car to drive! Not only is it amazingly quick & fast- but it is also comfortable and decent on gas mileage. Whether you are taking it to Porsche cars and coffee, PCA  autocross (which I never did by the way), or a four-hour drive to Lake Tahoe, this 996 Twin Turbo is the perfect car to do it in. I purchased the Porsche from an owner in Florida who had added a $ 5,000.00 stainless steel, cat-less, high-performance exhaust system, custom made for the car, as well as a "Marski " 93 Octane engine tune and while the Porsche was a "monster" and way fast, it would not pass California smog. It is now Factory-tuned with a FabSpeed Maxflow Performance exhaust system and is California smog-compliant. Both the Marski computer as well as the custom stainless steel performance exhaust are included with the Porsche”

  • sportscarguy3 (seller) 5 monthsago

@D_Flying_Low Hello and yes, you are correct !
As I mentioned previously, selling this 2003 Twin Turbo was not the original plan
However, life happens and I am dealing with it the best I am able
Also, the other auction results were partly my doing for keeping the Carrera 2 wheels on the car when most advised that I should re-mount the factory Turbo Twists
Additionally I was offering the custom exhaust and Marski computer for an additional cost
Now both are included with the purchase
Thank you for the kind words, it is a handsome ( fast ) Porsche

  • D_Flying_Low (registered bidder) 5 monthsago

Beautiful car. It looks familiar from some other auctions in the past. At one point you had two 996 Turbos and tried selling this one first correct ?I believe didn’t get your number so you sold your other one instead. Now this one is up for sale again. Are you getting out of the 996 Turbo platform at this time ?

    Hello all
Hope everyone enjoyed the Thanksgiving day and still enjoying the holiday weekend
I am here ready to answer any final questions or comments regarding my Porsche
Also, yesterday afternoon, I did a walk around the video and have asked Pcarmarket to gather it from YouTube and get it on the auction for viewing earlier this morning but I don’t see it yet. I’ll contact them again.
Make it a great Thanksgiving weekend, and make it an extra special one by purchasing a unique Porsche for yourself or a family member, my 996 twin turbo, of course. 🤙🏻😎

  • sportscarguy3 (seller) 5 monthsago

@Floored regarding any track use of my Porsche you are correct I do not recall reading anything from the previous owner in Tampa Florida regarding his track use. If it was listed on, bring a trailer I missed it.
Given the timing of your comment, in relationship to the closing of the auction and Thanksgiving holiday it is not likely that I am going to be able to get a new DME report
As far as oil seepage, once again, what you may, or may not think your seeing is not oil on the underside of the engine
I have had the car up on a rack on two or three occasions
After purchasing the Porsche to inspect and replace the stainless performance exhaust with the Factory muffler for California smog and again, when installing the Fab speed, max flow performance, exhaust and again for an oil and filter service
Each time I was careful to inspect all areas of the engine and transmission, looking for any signs of leakage, and found none
Finally this early morning, I’m not aware of any accident involving my Porsche
As you mentioned, the Carfax report is clean

  • Floored 5 monthsago

Thank you for your reply. To answer your questions:

Previous track use - The previous owner (who you bought the car from) said that he tracked the car at Homestead Race Track in 9 sessions in the BAT auction where you bought the car. From your response it sounds like you missed the previous owners comments about the track history with the car.

Oil seepage - If you zoom in on your pictures 97, 101 and 102 (among others) you can see oil or other fluid on the engine case and other parts. From your response it sounds like you aren’t noticing any leak (Eg a puddle on the garage floor). This is likely seepage that is drying on the outside of the engine case. I assume you don’t know where that is coming from.

In the last auction someone pointed out an accident that had been reported on AutoCheck that was not reported on the Carfax. Do you have any information about the accident reported on Autocheck?

DME report - ideally you would have a recent DME report (in the last week or two) when presenting a car, especially given the previous owner using it on track. You mention there might be an old DME report in your paperwork (something to post at a minimum if you have it). Better would be to post an updated DME report before the auction end, it only takes a few minutes to obtain one.

  • sportscarguy3 (seller) 5 monthsago

@Floored I don’t know where you got the idea that this car had been tracked. It has never been tracked in my possession or the previous owner in Tampa bay.
I don’t know about the other owner
As far as the underside of the car, there is no oil leaking anywhere. I don’t know what you think you’re seeing, but it is certainly not oil and there is no road debris. The car is clean inside outside and underneath.
I am not sure if there is a DME report, but I will certainly look in the paperwork today
I also plan to go down to Storage later today and do a walk around video and perhaps another driving video
The bottom line to my reply to you, that I want to make perfectly clear to everyone, including yourself, is there is no oil leak of any kind on this Porsche
It is completely dry in every area of the underside

Bottom of the engine has oil on it (in addition to road debris). Do you know where the oil is leaking or seeping from?

For Sonnypatel and all others, here are a few of the performance suspension parts installed on the Porsche when I purchased it
( the full list is in the auction pictures )
    H & R Springs
Meyle Lower Control Arms, w/ Solid Thrust Bushings
    997 Transaxle mount
Pictures of these are also included in the listing

  • sportscarguy3 (seller) 5 months, 1 weekago

PS The custom ( probably a Marski, I am communication with Mark to confirm ) cat-less performance exhaust that came on the Porsche when I purchased it is a Great sounding exhaust !
Louder and throatier than the Fab Speed however, unfortunately it is " cat-less " and did not pass California emissions requirement

  • sportscarguy3 (seller) 5 months, 1 weekago

@Sonnypatel The Fab-Speed, Maxflow performance exhaust I currently have installed on the Porsche passed California smog
( see attached smog certificate in the listing )
The suspension details are also listed in the auction
Basically all stock but with upgraded, factory like, performance parts
Please review the list of all modifications and ask away

  • Sonnypatel (registered bidder) 5 months, 1 weekago

Fabspeed maxflo with 200 cell cats is not smog compliant. It however it the best sounding exhaust for the 996 turbo . What is the suspension on the car @seller?

    I meant April 2022. A California car.

  • luis.seneriz (registered bidder) 5 months, 1 weekago

@sportscarguy3. If you look me up you’ll see the car I bought here last April, 03 triple black turbo. Mine is highly modified and I’m still getting it perfect for me. My only complaint with my car is that is black and it’s a pain in the rear to keep clean. I drove it yesterday and with 650 horsepower it really zooms.

  • sportscarguy3 (seller) 5 months, 1 weekago

What I can say, regarding the power and quickness of the Porsche., is, it’s wicked fast now in my opinion, with a stock, engine tune, and the max flow performance exhaust
I drove it normally for the week or so it took me to remove the performance tune, and swap out to the factory muffler to pass California smog and register the Porsche
So I never really experienced the performance improvements of the performance tune, and the custom exhaust
I know the sound was completely different, very throaty, much louder, and I know that if it’s as fast and quick as it is now it must have been quite a street monster with the performance upgrades it had on it

  • sportscarguy3 (seller) 5 months, 1 weekago

@luis.seneriz PS. Unfortunately, I don’t know what the maximum boost or horsepower rating was or is with the custom, stainless performance exhaust and 93 octane ECU tune on the car
There is quite a bit of documentation so I will look through the paperwork and see if it’s listed anywhere

  • sportscarguy3 (seller) 5 months, 1 weekago

@luis.seneriz thank you for your interest in my Porsche.
I have seen your name many times looking at many different Porsche’s., including my 2002 996 TwinTurbo
Regarding the exhaust that came with the Porsche. one I purchased it on bring a trailer June 15, 2022
It’s definitely a custom stainless steel cat-less performance exhaust, made specifically for that Porsche.
Is it a Marski exhaust system, I am not sure about that
However, I will go to Storage, either today or tomorrow, where the exhaust is boxed and stored, open it up take a couple of pictures and post them on the listing. I’ll also look for any stamp name or brand.
And to answer your question specifically, yes, this performance exhaust valued close to $5000, is included with the purchase of the Porsche. along with the Marski engine tune computer that also came with the car when I purchased it

  • luis.seneriz (registered bidder) 5 months, 1 weekago

Just to confirm, it’s the other exhaust, catless and is it a marski exhaust? Marski tube is included in sale? How high was the maximum boost with marski tune? Definitely the year to have, 2003 is the last year with engine case stamped made in Germany and 964 part number. No AWD and with the performance goodies back on the car this is a real widow maker.

  • luis.seneriz 5 months, 1 weekago

Bid in the amount of $9,962

  • sportscarguy3 (seller) 5 months, 1 weekago

@Hugihard-J As I mentioned, and another reply to a question, if you go to bring a trailer, the other auction website where I purchased the Porsche, And search results for 996 twin turbos, then scroll back to June 15 of 2022. You will find the car as I purchased it.
There will also be extensive information about the car as I purchased it, which is pretty much the way it is now
Short answer no, I bought the Porsche with the GT 2 wing installed, as well as all the other modifications listed
As far as why I powder coating the wheels to match the body color. I just felt a darker wheel was a better looking wheel for the seal, gray metallic Porsche.
These are the factory wheels so they fit perfectly. There is nothing that needed to be done or was done to the wheel wells.
The wheels like the car are in excellent condition and look brand new because of the recent professional powder coating

  • Hugihard-J (registered bidder) 5 months, 1 weekago

Any chance you have the original rear wing? Any changes to wheel wells? rolling or bending?
why change wheel color were they damaged?

  • sportscarguy3 (seller) 5 months, 1 weekago

@Snolvr Hello and thank you for the questions re my Porsche
One thing you may also do, to gather extensive, additional information about my Porsche, is go to BaT ( Bring a Trailer ) and search Porsche sale results. Then search for sales of 996 TT ( Twin Turbos ) and scroll back to the selling date , June 15th 2022
There you will see the Porsche as well as all existing conditions, including the frint wheel drive delete performed by a previous owner

There are no error / engine lights regarding anything on the car !
The Porsche is in excellent condition at all areas and is very, very quick !
Finally both the front axels and drive shat / differential are included with the sale
It is an easy installation, if you would like to return to all wheel drive, from my understanding

  • Snolvr (registered bidder) 5 months, 1 weekago

Curious, did you purchase the car after the RWD conversion or did you have that done? Either way, are there any warning lights on the dash or any other issues related to the conversion other than simply deleting the front diff and axles? Thanks.

  • sportscarguy3 (seller) 5 months, 1 weekago

    Good morning, all,
A bittersweet day for me as selling my 2003 Porsche 996 TwinTurbo is not something I plan to do but life happens and you have to go with the flow
I’ll be here to answer questions, so ask away
I’ll also get pictures of the ECU Marski performance computer and custom stainless cat-less performance exhaust that were both installed on the car when I purchased It from the previous owner and are included in the sale.
I’ll also take pictures of the Factory tail lights which are also included in the sale, as well as the rear wiper, motor and arm, which have been deleted for a cleaner look
Lastly, this morning, we have had a week or so of rain so I haven’t driven the car but if we get the dry conditions that are predicted for most of next week, I’ll try to get another driving video
And also remember that we have a local airport here in Santa Rosa, STS, are the call letters and while it’s not San Francisco international, SFO, it is just 15 minutes from my storage and the car location
So you could certainly fly in. Take a quick look go for a drive and fly home after actually physically seeing the car and it’s excellent condition
Truly, a special Porsche. and unique and enjoyable driving experience
Thank you for your interest, and good luck with bidding
