The Ford Super Duty series was first introduced in 1999 as a line of dedicated commercial-grade pickups situated above the consumer-oriented F-150. This 2004 F-250 Crew Cab comes finished in Dark Toreador Red Clearcoat over a Medium Flint interior and is equipped with an optional 6.0-liter V8 turbodiesel PowerStroke engine. It was previously “bulletproofed” by a Ford dealer and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Oregon showing approximately 104k miles on the odometer.
Apart from its tailgate and taillight lenses, the Super Duty F-Series pickup shares no exterior parts with the standard F-150. This Crew Cab is finished in Dark Toreador Red Clearcoat with factory “FX4 OFF-ROAD” decals on the rear quarters. It rides on a set of aftermarket black-painted Helo wheels dressed in new BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A tires. An aftermarket antenna has also been installed along with a bed-mounted SuperGlide trailer hitch. Some cosmetic imperfections can be seen in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is trimmed in Medium Flint cloth upholstery with patterned seat centers. An upgraded touchscreen Bluetooth head unit has been installed along with a Cobra CB radio, drop-down Alpine media player, rearview camera, and an auxiliary display mounted on the driver’s side dashboard.
The 6.0-liter turbocharged diesel V8 PowerStroke engine is rated at 325 HP and 560 lb.-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven through an automatic transmission and dual-range transfer case with a 3.73 axle ratio. Modifications include an S&B cold air intake, Rancho shock absorbers, and a Sinister Diesel engine coolant filter. A binder of maintenance records accompanies the sale including an invoice for a major service and preventive “bulletproofing” at a Ford dealer in 2011.

@OttoBozart Given the prices of new Diesel pickups, rebuilding is’t a bad idea.
Just went to bulletproofmotors.com and they have various options available. Stage One through Stage Three rebuilds. Don’t know when it was published but the pricing shows $5000 to $11,000 to bulletproof. They have a network of authorized rebuilders through out the country. The processes involved are different from the solution that I remembered and I apologize for misleading anyone who read my previous comment.

From past experience with 7.3 Liter Power Strokes, this ones due for a transmission. We serviced ours at 30,000 miles, plowed in 1st gear and came to expect 95,000 to 100,000 miles on a transmission.
The 6 Liter engines were known for overheating the rear left cylinder. From what I can remember, an rebuilder in one of the South Eastern States, licensed German technology to machined an addition metal gasket relief into the heads. They used a proprietary coating on the heads. Then plumbed an additional fuel line into the rear of the head to aid in cooling the trouble cylinder. That was considered bullet proof.
