The Mazda RX-8 was introduced in 2002 and considered the successor of the RX-7, featuring a new design with rear “freestyle” doors while retaining a version of the famed Wankel 13B rotary engine. This 2004 example is finished in Velocity Red Mica Tricoat over a two-tone Black/Chaparral leather, and optioned with a 6-speed manual transmission. It was originally titled in Maine before being relocated to Florida by its third owner. Having recently undergone a Mazda dealership maintenance inspection and full service, this 2004 RX-8 is now being offered at auction by its seller out of Florida showing under 50k miles on the odometer.
This RX-8 was ordered in Velocity Red Mica Tricoat (27A) and features reverse-opening “freestyle” rear doors, a glass sunroof, a rear spoiler, rocker panel extensions, fender vents, and dual exhaust outlets. The seller notes a dent on the rear driver’s side door as well as condensation in the passenger side taillight. The CARFAX report shows an incident in 2014 with damage to the rear end and driver’s side quarter. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a complete CARFAX report. The factory 18” five-spoke wheels are mounted with Goodyear Eagle Sport tires.
The seats are trimmed in Black and Chaparral brown leather accented with gloss black inlays on the door panels and center console. Amenities include a BOSE sound system, full power accessories, cruise control, air conditioning, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, RX-8 branded door sills, and drilled aluminum pedal covers. Some wear is noted on the outer driver’s seat bolster as well as cracks on the passenger-side dashboard and airbag cover.
The RX-8 is powered by a 1.3-liter Renesis Wankel rotary engine rated at 232 HP and 159 lb-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by a 6-speed manual transmission and a torque-sensing conical limited-slip differential. A maintenance inspection was carried out by Ocean Mazda of Doral, Florida in February of 2022, the air conditioning system was recharged, and a full service including an oil change was completed in June of 2022.

@CarNutinMiami hello car was sent to Pettit Racing in Palm Beach to a pre sale check. Not sure if compression test was performed but we can speak to the tech anytime. Car is ready for sale based on his opinion.
