Up for auction is this 2003 Mercedes-Benz S55 AMG finished in Black over a black leather interior. Introduced as the ultimate AMG-tuned version of Mercedes’ S-Class luxury sedan, the S55 is equipped with a vast array of creature comforts as well as a supercharged 5.4 L V8 engine rated at nearly 500HP. Offering an extremely high standard of luxury and performance, this 2003 example is now being listed in excellent overall condition by its seller in New York while showing just under 46k miles on the odometer.
The Black paint on this S-Class is said to be in very nice condition, see the photo gallery for detailed images and paint meter readings. The AMG styling package adds a front spoiler and side skirts which provide for a more aggressive appearance. Factory 18” AMG wheels are also equipped and dressed in healthy Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
Occupants are seated in a luxurious black Nappa leather interior featuring decorative wood veneers throughout the cabin. Amenities include heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, power front seats with a massage function and 3-position memory, a central display screen with COMAND navigation, automatic climate control, and a power rear sunblind. All gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.
The AMG-tuned supercharged 5.4 L V8 engine is capable of sending 493 HP and 516 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 5-speed automatic transmission. The 8-piston front and 4-piston rear brake calipers provide ample stopping power while the Active Body Control (ABC) system offers exceptional ride quality. A full service was carried out at Mercedes-Benz of Buffalo earlier in 2020 and this S55 is said to be in excellent running order. A fresh oil change will be carried out upon sale.

Because of Pcarmarket I am now starting to really look deeper into one of these . It looks like this one sold for $16500 recently with almost double the mileage. Will be interesting to see where the black beauty here winds up

@vmarrone Hello and thank you for the question. I’m looking closely at the photos and it does appear that that is a reflection from the road. Obviously, it is a older car which 45K mileage so they will be minor wear and tear as expected. However, it is safe to say that the car has well below average wear and tear that you would expect for this mileage. Also it is original paint and in extremely well preserved condition.
Could you describe the condition of the paint on the sides of the car, especially behind wheels? The picture appears to show a lot of small chips and scratches, but it may just be reflection off the road.
