The most powerful R230 SL-Class outside of the AMG model range, the Mercedes-Benz SL600 is equipped with a V12 Biturbo engine producing up to 493 HP and 590 lb.-ft of torque. This 2004 example is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic over a Black/Anthracite Exclusive leather interior and features climate-controlled multicontour seats, burred walnut trim, bi-xenon headlamps, the Parktronic System, and Active Body Control (ABC) suspension. It is said to have been cared for by only one owner since new and underwent a generous amount of service within the last 5k miles. This immensely powerful and luxurious SL-Class roadster is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York while showing approximately 22k miles on the odometer.

The exterior is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic with silver AMG-spec brake calipers and 18” 5-spoke alloy wheels. Other details include straked vents on the hood, front fender vents with “V12” emblems, bi-xenon headlamps, a power-folding hardtop, dual exhaust outlets, and rear sensors for the Parktronic System. The seller notes the right side quarter panel and trunk lid have been refinished at some point, but done with excellent color match and is nearly undetectable. The vehicle is said to have never been in any type of accident and all body lines are straight. The seller also states there may be a few minor chips and light surface scratches present, as could be expected on a vehicle of this age. The cabin is upholstered in Black/Anthracite Exclusive Leather upholstery accented by burred walnut wood veneers and a Designo Alcantara Alpaca Gray headliner. Accessories include heated and cooled multicontour seats, a heated wood-trimmed steering wheel, a wood-trimmed gear selector, a premium Bose sound system, a CD changer, cruise control, and COMAND with a navigation system.

Power comes from a twin-turbocharged all-aluminum 5.5-liter V12 SOHC engine featuring three valves per cylinder and a twin-spark ignition system. Up to 493 HP and 590 lb.-ft of torque is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed 5G-Tronic automatic transmission which provided acceleration from 0-60 MPH in just 3.6 seconds during an independent study by Car and Driver. Other equipment includes Active Body Control suspension, an Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Automatic Slip Control (ASR), and AMG-spec Sensotronic brakes. Service carried out within the last 5k miles is said to include replacements of the trunk lock assembly and liftgate shocks, tire pressure sensors, and battery as well as a full synthetic oil change, brake fluid flush, and power steering fluid flush.
