Up for auction is this 2004 Porsche 996 Carrera 4S Cabriolet finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a black full leather interior.  Sharing its wide bodywork and aluminum monobloc brakes with the 911 Turbo, this Carrera 4S also features a 6-speed manual transmission, the Sport Exhaust System, 18” Sport Techno wheels, and the Exclusive Aluminum/Chrome Package.  Serviced in 2021 with a new IMS bearing, this 996 shows just over 45k miles on the odometer and is now being offered for auction by its owner out of Rhode Island.

This 996 comes finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with a black cabriolet top, optional Xenon headlamps, and stainless-steel tailpipes included with the Aluminum/Chrome Package (Y29). The 4S can be identified by its unique rear reflector band and wide fenders, bumpers, and rocker panels shared with the 911 Turbo.  The seller describes the finish to be in excellent overall condition along with the rims and cabriolet top, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.  The factory exclusive 18” Sport Techno wheels are dressed in a set of Sumitomo HTR ZIII tires dated from 2016 with approximately 80% tread remaining.

The black full leather interior includes optional supple leather upholstery for the front seats as well as stainless steel door entry guards and aluminum-look instrument dials from the Aluminum/Chrome Package.  Other features include heated front seats, driver memory settings, automatic climate control, and the Bose High-End Sound Package.

This 996 is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.6L flat-six engine rated at 315 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque, driving all four wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission.  The 4S comes standard with the red-painted 4-piston aluminum monobloc brakes of the 911 Turbo as well as a lowered and more firmly tuned suspension, Porsche Stability Management (PSM), and Automatic Braking Differential (ABD).  This example was also optioned with the Sport Exhaust System for a louder, more aggressive tone.  Service carried out in 2021 included an IMS bearing replacement, new spark plugs and coils, a new serpentine belt, and an oil and filter change.

This sale will include a detachable cabin wind deflector and a clean title (lien). For any enthusiast in search of a 6-speed Porsche 996, this well-equipped Carrera 4S Cabriolet is not to be overlooked.

@Restaurantman car has zero blemishes and exterior is mint. Clutch has 45000 miles and when serviced last December, appeared to be in excellent condition. True gem

  • Restaurantman (registered bidder) 2 years, 2 monthsago

How many miles on the clutch? Can you provide detail on any blemishes in and around the vehicle? Great color combo, and unmolested a bonus!

  • Chrisnuzzi (seller) 2 years, 2 monthsago

@Mercyhealth THE IMS bearing replacement was the type with direct oil lubrication and I have documentation. The car was inspected thoroughly in December 2021 and there was no sign of bore scoping.

@Chrisnuzzi beautiful car. I really like the Sport Techno wheels. BTW these rims are very easy to clean if you’re like me and love to wipe down your car frequently. A few questions.
    - What type of IMS was fitted and documentation?
    - Do you have any pictures of the bore scope analysis or documented report?
    - How many keys?

  • Chrisnuzzi (seller) 2 years, 2 monthsago

@TomBuddTX The IMS bearing with oil filter kit and crankshaft seal was done, the serpentine belt was replaced, and new spark plugs and ignition coil were installed. Bore scoring was checked and none was found. The front brakes have 70% remaining and the rear brakes have 90% remaining.

  • TomBuddTX (registered bidder) 2 years, 2 monthsago

@Chrisnuzzi You will have to upload it

  • Chrisnuzzi (seller) 2 years, 2 monthsago

I will have PCarMarket add it to the listing.

  • Chrisnuzzi (seller) 2 years, 2 monthsago

@TomBuddTX I’m not sure how to do that on the website but send me your email and I’ll send you a copy.

@TomBuddTX I’m. It sure how to do that on the website but I can send you a copy to your email

  • TomBuddTX (registered bidder) 2 years, 2 monthsago

Can you add the detailed receipt from the last Maintenance including IMS Bearing? and everything else that was done? Thanks!

  • Chrisnuzzi (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

Clutch is in excellent condition and car only has 45000 miles. On the advise of my Porsche technician, it did not require replacing.

  • ExoticrareKia (registered bidder) 2 years, 3 monthsago

Seller, why wasn’t clutch replaced while doing the IMS? That’s usually standard practice.
