@VantageAuto -- ah, I see. Congrats on hitting your reserve with just one bid! You consistently offer great examples of the 996 on these sites (not to mention some choice examples of 6-speed manual 997.2 recently). Notwithstanding that I already own a 19k-mile 6-speed 2003 C2, I look forward to your future offerings!

@altongray it was listed on our site mistakenly for 24 hours. Regardless this car will have a new home by tonight!

  • Sbattman64 (registered bidder) 2 years, 3 monthsago

Watched this on the other site and happy to see this beautiful example getting the $ value and respect it deserves. These are great driver's cars and the new owner is in for many miles of enjoyment!

I agree with @AmeliaIslander in that (irrespective of the auction platform's rules regarding advertising the vehicle outside of the auction site while the auction is ongoing), keeping the vehicle advertised on the selling dealer's website while the auction is running may raise questions in the bidders' minds about whether they are guaranteed the vehicle via the auction if they end up as the winning bidder. Not saying that the seller would pull the vehicle from the winning bidder if a better offer comes direct to the dealership from a buyer who is unaware of the online auction, but it could create a misperception/some uncertainty among bidders (which would not be good for the seller, given that this is in fact an exclusive listing).

@Abuong01 Absolutely hilarious. Haters thought the 996 “hit the max” at $9,999 back in 2015 too.

History is coming for Type 996 since it crossed LeMans’ finish line a year before it was even born

@VantageAuto . Indeed! Bidder won a few cars on the other auction site recently, goes and gets what they want.

  • VantageAuto (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@Abuong01 We shall see! and thank you. Nice to see a bidder cutting right to the chase!

  • VantageAuto (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@211Broadway correct, we have no documentation showing the IMS has been done. Our shop is quite backed up but any indy shop this is a $2500 job.

  • 211Broadway (registered bidder) 2 years, 3 monthsago

    No IMS fix?

  • Abuong01 (registered bidder) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@VantageAuto I think this one has hit the max. Very nice car regardless. GLWTS

As an owner of one of these (a coupe) I'm certainly not disappointed to see AlexNeel's bid. If he wins I hope he posts why he passed on it at the evil empire site for possibly less.

@VantageAuto - you say:" A vehicle for sale by a dealership can be listed on multiple sites as the goal is to obviously sell." The site says in FAQ: "Can I advertise my Vehicle on other websites or auction platforms during the auction?
No. PCARMARKET requires exclusivity during the live auction period. All other advertising must be suspended ."
But that's between you and them.

I’m not sure if a situation like this has happened before. RNM on one site only to be up within a week on another.
To be sure their are differences between these two auction houses. Both are EXCELLENT platforms for online vehicle auctions. Certainly there is a lot more chatter on BaT for better or worse. Having sold cars on both sites the main difference, that I noticed, between the two is in their handling of RNM. With BaT I found that once the auction was over it was up to the last bidder and seller to try to come to terms. BaT washes their hands of any future sale thereby giving up the commission (good for the buyer). Where as Pcarmarket owners will actively try to negotiate the sale and commission (good for the seller).

Nonetheless both sites are good for car exposure, learning, or just wasting hours of your life watching.

@Abuong01 5 days left my friend. A tiptronic sold for 47.

  • Abuong01 (registered bidder) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@VantageAuto Looks like Axleneel owns this one.

  • VantageAuto (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@gf2020 it did not sell on one platform so was listed on another. A vehicle for sale by a dealership can be listed on multiple sites as the goal is to obviously sell. And it looks like this vehicle will indeed have a new owner and someone has cut right to the chase (and has also been in touch with us!). Timing is often key with these types of vehicles. Theres no doubt that this example is the "right" 996 C4S cab.

  • Alexneel 2 years, 3 monthsago

Bid in the amount of $54,000

  • gf2020 (registered bidder) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@VantageAuto @VantageAuto, no argument here. I think some of us are just a little curious about the same vehicle being listed on multiple auction sites and still listed for sale at your dealership too.

  • VantageAuto (seller) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@gf2020 right...which is most believable. Reserve should not have been met at 47. View comps listed and sold elsewhere. This is an exceptional car that has a very realistic reserve (hence why it has been accepted here). An incredible car throughout.

  • gf2020 (registered bidder) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@Abuong01, right and Reserve Not Met at $46K!

  • Abuong01 (registered bidder) 2 years, 3 monthsago

This is the same car from BaT auction that closed earlier today. Interesting to see what it does on PCar
