Now available is this 2004 Porsche 996 Carrera 4S Coupe finished in Polar Silver Metallic over a Metropol Blue full leather interior. This 2003 example was configured at an original cost of over $91k with a 6-speed manual transmission, heated front seats, the Bose High-End Sound Package, and Sport Exhaust System (PSE). This 996 has received an IMS bearing upgrade and is said to have been regularly serviced through Porsche Melbourne under the current ownership. The car has been kept mostly original aside from the aftermarket Rennline track mats, 3M paint protection film, and Fabspeed cold air upgrade kit. Now with just under 30k miles showing on the odometer, this C4S is being offered by its seller out of Tennessee.
This Carrera 4S is finished in Polar Silver Metallic and features wide fenders, Turbo-style bumpers, and a model-specific reflector band between the taillights. The seller notes that the front end is preserved under a layer of 3M paint protection film which was applied over the front bumper, hood, and fenders by Porsche Melbourne in 2019. Additional images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. Red painted Turbo-spec brake calipers can be seen behind the factory 18” Turbo Twist wheels which come dressed in a set of Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires. Colored Porsche center crests are also included as part of the Technic Package.
The cabin has been generously appointed with premium Metropol Blue full leather upholstery as well as the Technic Package which includes heated front seats, the Bose High-End Sound Package, and Xenon Headlamp Package. Additional features include an Alcantara headliner, a three-spoke steering wheel, automatic climate control, and a power-operated sunroof. Rennline track marts have been added and the original Porsche radio has been retained. Minor wear is noted on the door sills and center console, and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be working properly.
The naturally aspirated 3.6L flat-six engine features VarioCam Plus variable intake timing and was factory rated at 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a desirable 6-speed manual transmission providing for a 0-60 time of approximately 4.8 seconds. Compared with the standard Carrera 4, the 4S also features a lower and firmer suspension as well as larger 4-piston monobloc brakes borrowed from the Turbo model. This example came factory equipped with the optional Sport Exhaust System (PSE) which provides a more aggressive and sporty tone. A Fabspeed cold air upgrade kit has also been installed for increased cold airflow and intake sound. The seller states that this 996 has been regularly maintained through Porsche of Melbourne under their ownership, and a recent service is also said to have been carried out including updated 997 coil packs, spark plugs, a new AGM battery, and all new fluids. Service records are said to be available as well as documentation for an IMS bearing upgrade. An oil change and comprehensive pre-purchase inspection were also completed by Porsche of Nashville in June of 2021 which found only minor "inactive" oil seepage at the rear main seal, however, no services were recommended at the time.
This sale will include a set of two keys, original owner's manuals, original Metropol Blue floor mats, a Porsche sunshade and oil pouch, some service records, and a clean title. Also accompanying the sale are the original parts and hardware for the air intake.
