Finished in Midnight Blue Metallic over Graphite Grey full leather upholstery, this 2004 Porsche 996 Carrera Cabriolet was configured at an original MSRP exceeding $102k. It features flared rocker panels, the Xenon Headlamp Package, Porsche Stability Management, Power Seat Package, supple leather seats, Bose High-End Sound Package, Aluminum & Chrome Package, various body-colored interior appointments, and Custom Tailoring (special wishes that require further communication). Although currently equipped with a non-running engine, this 996 has had approximately $30k invested in recent parts and labor. With around 139k miles showing on the odometer, it is now available for auction by its seller out of North Carolina.
This Carrera is finished in Midnight Blue Metallic with a Metropol Blue convertible soft top. Optional equipment includes the Xenon Headlamp Package, flared rocker panels, and 18” Carrera light alloy wheels with colored Porsche center crests. The tires were mounted within the last 4k miles. The seller reports an incident to the right side of the car under previous ownership, as shown on the CARFAX report. Some dents and scratches are also noted, and detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin presents Graphite Grey full leather upholstery, including supple leather front seats with lumbar support, seat heating, and Porsche-crested headrests, along with the Power Seat Package. A Porsche wind deflector and the Bose High-End Sound Package were also chosen. Optional body-colored appointments include the instrument panel, center air vent mount, air vent slats, dash trim strip, seatbelt outlets, and rear center console. Additional selections include a Carrera-embossed storage compartment lid, an aluminum/leather shifter and brake handle, and the Aluminum & Chrome Package, including aluminum door sills and instrument dials. An engine warning light is illuminated.
The naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine is capable of generating 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Porsche Stability Management was additionally opted for. The seller reports that the engine is non-operational due to damage. Cylinder #5 has collapsed, causing valve damage and scoring to the bore. Further engine damage may also have occurred as a result. Approximately $30k has been invested in labor and parts over the last few years, with less than 4k miles added since, including the following:
This sale will include a clean title and a hardtop.
The seller would like you to know: “I purchased this vehicle in 2021 from my neighbor in Chicago - who owned the vehicle since 2007 - just a couple of months before I moved to North Carolina. I am the third owner of the vehicle, and the idea behind purchasing it was to enjoy it with family on the weekends. Multiple repairs and upgrades have been made since I purchased the vehicle with ~135k miles, and over $30k in parts has been spent. All the parts were installed in the vehicle less than 2k miles ago and are still brand new. The car is full of brand-new original Porsche parts. The engine issue has made me give up on this project.”

I have receipts for most of the job done and some pictures. I can upload them shortly . The soft top was working, but there was a leak in the top cylinders what can be easily fixed.
Seller an interesting 996 for auction. Do you have any documentation of the 30k investment or at least a few pictures of the work done? Does the soft top function normally?
Bad news no engine good news 2 keys.
