Hailed as one of the greatest water-cooled 911s of all, the 996 GT3 was developed as an FIA racing homologation special featuring the coveted Mezger flat-six engine. This 2004 example comes finished in Guards Red over over a black leather interior with optional Guards Red accents. It features a recent service including the installation of new tires. Offered for auction by its third owner in Connecticut, this GT3 shows approximately 18k miles on the odometer.
This 996 comes finished in classic Guards Red. It highlights a distinctive fixed rear wing, exclusive GT3 aerodynamic lower bodywork with front and rear valances, Xenon Headlight Package, power-adjustable mirrors, and dual exhaust outlets. It rides on factory staggered 18” GT3 wheels with colored wheel crests and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. The rear bumper is said to have been refinished under prior ownership and full paint protection film was applied in January 2022. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The black full leather interior includes an Alcantara headliner, thicker 3-spoke leather steering wheel, aluminum instrument dials, black floor mats, automatic climate control, CD Stereo, power-adjustable Sports Seats with red painted backrest shells, a red painted center console, and brushed aluminum door sills with GT3 logos. The seller indicates minor abrasions on the leather driver’s door armrest and glove compartment.
The sought-after naturally aspirated 3.6L flat-six Mezger engine is mated with a 6-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential. As much as 380 HP and 284 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels. Ignition coils were replaced in November 2021 and the seller reports all maintenance has been kept up to date with corresponding records available.
The sale includes owner's manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, a car cover, a battery charger, and a clean title.

@jacqnpj The coolant lines have not been pinned but inspected. All lines cannot be inspected without video camera access of course. I can get pricing for pinning if needed. Hope that helps.
Have the coolant pipes been pinned?

Buy the car, not the color. ?
@byeretirementmoney the car has a fully functioning a/c system. There is no paint work to any sheet metal. The paint meter readings are all under 5. With the PPF at 12mm, that increases the reading. I have the paint meter reading documented in the video section prior to application of PPF… hope that helps
Also, has there been any paintwork to the sheet metal? I'm guessing the high meter readings are from PPF.
Does this have A/C?

Morning PC community bidders,
Up for auction is one of my collection vehicles. The car has been driven several hundred miles by myself. Well maintained and in great condition. Due to storage issues, I am releasing this car, but will revisit this series in the future. It is an amazing narrow-body, first water cooled GT3 every made by Porsche. The feel on the road is unique, gear box simple but entertaining. Probably the true widow-maker, but that's controversial. I have replaced and balanced all the struts, applied PPF (paint meter reading are provided pre and post application). The car is fully serviced, newish tires, and ready to be driven. The DME report is available as well. The guards red is amazing in person for red color haters (just kidding). You will very happy with this vehicle. Feel free contacting me with any questions. Cheers.
Seems like a great car, in great condition. Unfortunately I don’t like red. Maintenance and everything on this car are on point, someone is going to be pretty ? happy. GLWTS
