We are pleased to offer this 2004 Porsche 996 Turbo Cabriolet finished in Arctic Silver Metallic.  Equipped with a coveted twin-turbocharged Mezger engine, this 2004 example also came with a 6-speed manual transmission and a Metropol Blue full leather interior featuring painted hardback Sport Seats, metal door sill insignias, and a rear center console in aluminum-look.  It has also been upgraded with a full Fabspeed exhaust system, stiffer engine mounts, new BMC air filters, a custom flat-bottom steering wheel, and a Carrera GT-style wooden shift knob.  Acquired by the current owner within the last year, this 996 Turbo is now being offered for auction out of Florida with approximately 46k miles showing on the odometer.

This Turbo was ordered in Arctic Silver Metallic with a Metropol Blue cabriolet top.  Compared with the 996 Carrera, the Turbo features model-specific front and rear bumpers, wide fenders, side air intakes, and an automatically deployed hydraulic rear spoiler.  The front end remains preserved under clear paint protection film and the front bumper is free of license plate mounting holes.  The car is reported to have been garage-kept and the seller describes the exterior finish and cabriolet top to be in good condition.  Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.  The factory 18” Turbo wheels feature model-logo center caps, aftermarket wheel spacers, and a set of Sumitomo tires that are said to have been mounted within the last 4k miles.

Inside, this Turbo highlights a Metropol Blue full leather interior featuring lowered Sport Seats with painted backrests, a rear center console in aluminum-look, metal door sill insignias, and silver trim on the dashboard, center air vents, and instrument surround. Under prior ownership, Rennline aluminum track mats were installed, and the original steering wheel was custom rebuilt in a flat-bottom style with new leather upholstery and perforated hand grips.  The current owner also installed a custom Carrera GT style wooden shift knob.  The original carpet mats and leather shift knob are said to accompany the sale and the owner reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional including the factory climate control and PCM head unit.  The cup holder trim cover has come off and the CARFAX report shows an incorrect mileage report on 06/15/2021 which is said to have resulted from clerical error at the DMV.

Derived from the GT1 Le Mans car, the 3.6L twin-turbocharged Mezger flat-six engine in this Turbo generates as much as 415 HP stock.  All four wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission with an aftermarket short-shift kit.  The car has also been upgraded with a full Fabspeed exhaust system including high-flow 200-cell catalysts, stiffened engine mounts, and new high-performance BMC air filters.  The clutch accumulator was replaced in November of 2020 along with the brake master cylinder around the same time as a four-wheel alignment.  Corresponding service records are said to accompany the sale.

Accompanied by a clean title, this nicely appointed Turbo Cabriolet awaits its next owner.

@mineralfarmer i owned 3 996 Turbo and 1 996 Turbo S. It never happened to me and it is well known happening on the cars that have been abused or higher mileage.

@KERO I know the auctions over but just for everybody's information, pinning the pipes has nothing to do with whether the car was tracked or abused. It's something that happens under normal use. Happened to me.

@michaelskye i also have a coupe one with 15k miles on it and i really recommend 996 Turbos. I always loved and appreciated them and had a chance to own 2 so far. And the reason i am selling is i am trying to buy a house and i need the money for down payment

  • michaelskye (registered bidder) 2 years, 6 monthsago

@KERO Wonderful ! Thank you very much for being willing to do that for everyone. It is highly appreciated. When I sold my MB last year I had one performed for my own piece of mind. It really made a difference for ease of selling, for what it's worth. Presently, I have an 03 996, but want something faster, hence my desire for the turbo. If you have only had it one year ish, why are you selling it already please ? I am new here, so I am not clear on appropriate protocols, so if you prefer to have these talks offline, please let me know

  • KERO (seller) 2 years, 6 monthsago

@michaelskye but i have a ppi scheduled next week at the dealer. They will also provide dme report

  • KERO (seller) 2 years, 6 monthsago

    @michaelskye i don’t have a ppi

  • michaelskye (registered bidder) 2 years, 6 monthsago

Did you have a PPI performed prior to listing by chance ? If so, may I have a copy please .

  • KERO (seller) 2 years, 6 monthsago

@michaelskye previous owner threw them away before me so i have only few service records. But i can assure you it is very well taken care of garage queen

  • michaelskye (registered bidder) 2 years, 6 monthsago

Also, might you have any service records by chance ?

  • KERO (seller) 2 years, 6 monthsago

@michaelskye hello, Turbo cars don’t have the ims issue. DME will be avaliable shortly. Waiting to hear back from local P dealer

  • michaelskye (registered bidder) 2 years, 6 monthsago

HI, I am interested. Would you please be so kind and send the DME ? Also, has the IMS been replaced ?? Thank you. Michael

@KERO another Carfax error I presume. Says 99k miles last reading stupid Carfax. Very nice turbo nonetheless.

  • KERO (seller) 2 years, 6 monthsago

@MurderMammoth Sounds good, will contact my local P dealer tomorrow to see if they can get me the dme. I don’t have a paint meter reader but i’ll see what i can do to get it
