Available for auction is this 2004 Porsche 986 Boxster S finished in Atlas Grey Metallic over a Black standard leather interior. This final-year 986 has been extensively upgraded under previous ownership with a stage 2 turbocharger kit, a performance clutch, Stoptech brakes, an IMS bearing kit, and much more. Showing just over 57k miles on the odometer, this remarkable Boxster is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Jersey.
This 986 is finished in Atlas Grey Metallic with a power-retractable soft top in black and 17″ wheels fitted with colored Porsche crest center caps and Michelin Pilot Sport AS3 tires mounted in 2019. A few small imperfections have been noted on the rear bumper, detailed photos can be found in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is trimmed in Black standard leather with amenities including heated seats, cruise control, HI-FI sound, and a Porsche Windstop (Deflector). Signs of wear commensurate with age and are present within the cabin, and AEM fuel and wideband gauges have been added to the center stack.
Power comes from a mid-mounted 3.2L flat-six engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. In 2019, ACI Dynamix of Seymour Connecticut installed a stage 2 turbo and intercooler kit along with an upgraded IMS bearing, a 996 air/oil separator, an upgraded clutch, headers, and more. The car was then dyno-tuned and produced up to 361 HP and 304 lb.-ft of torque at the rear wheels. In 2020, the car returned to ACI where it received a valve job, resurfaced cylinder heads, a new oil pump and seals, a new fuel pump, and a rebuilt turbocharger. Other notable upgrades include Stoptech brake rotors, upgraded brake pads, lowered suspension, and a straight pipe exhaust system with dual center exit tips. Supporting documentation for all of the upgrades and service have been provided by the seller and can be found in the gallery, along with a CARFAX which highlights 15 service history records dating back as far as 2003.

@VantageAuto true, there was nothing seriously wrong with the motor. Well-stated. And it looks like a really professional installation. Turbo looks easy to get at if it ever fails again. Turbocharged 986 = perfect car! Good luck with the sale! Timing is not right for me, alas. I just was interested to see if anyone had some useful feedback. Turbo'ed Boxsters are not too common!
@mineralfarmer what I just read said customer stated smoke from the exhaust, found the seals to be bad, so they disassembled the motor machined the heads did new seals and whatever else is listed. Nothing suggests that the motor went bad? I spoke extensively with the previous owner about the car and how it was built properly to ensure to issues with the addition of the turbo kit. The shop which did the work is very reputable and well known. If you're seriously interested in the car feel free to give them a call.
@VantageAuto essentially, they replaced the valve seals and did the necessary work associated with that. Nothing was done to strengthen the engine that I can see.
@mineralfarmer who says it will? Seems the first time the motor was not built to handle the power. A ton of money was then invested to ensure everything could handle the power without issue. The car runs and drives unlike any Boxster we have ever had its incredible.
So one year after the turbo was added, the engine needed a top-end rebuild and the turbo needed rebuilding. Does anyone else wonder--as do I--about when the next turbo and/or engine rebuilds will be needed?

This is a one of a kind car that the previous owner spent a ton of money on turning it into what is without a doubt the best driving Boxster you will ever drive. The power is extraordinary. We're talking close to 400hp at the wheels from a motor that has been completely gone through and modified to ensure it is as reliable as we have all come to expect from this powerplant.
A gorgeous car throughout that comes with all documentation. Paint is all original. One small mark on the rear bumper.
While I am not one typically for modified cars, I could not pass up owning this one as it is done so well, by professionals that used the best parts out there. Such a unique car that I know the next owner is going to love. Add up those receipts and we're talking about a car that has roughly 30k put into it!
