Bentley’s flagship grand touring car for the past 20 years, the Continental GT debuted at the 2002 Paris Motor Show featuring elegant styling, fine craftsmanship, and a powerful twin turbocharged W12 engine. Finished in Chestnut Metallic over a Saddle leather interior, this 2005 example was originally commissioned as a special order for Robert E. Petersen, American publisher and founder of the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. It remained in Petersen’s collection before it was acquired by the seller’s client at auction in 2008. Having been driven just over 14k miles from new, this Bentley Continental GT is now being offered for auction out of New Jersey.

This Bentley is finished in Chestnut Metallic and features a chrome radiator grille, window surrounds, door handle inlays, and lower body moldings as well as quad bi-xenon headlamps, frameless side windows, Bentley-branded brake calipers, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and polished dual exhaust outlets. It rides on optional 19” 9-spoke two-piece wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires (2520). The seller adds that the exterior remains in excellent condition with clear paint protection film applied over the full front end. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is appointed with Saddle brown leather upholstery and matching carpets complemented by polished touchpoints and burl walnut veneers on the dashboard, door panels, and center console. Accessories include heated and power-adjustable front seats with lumbar support and memory settings, a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, side window defoggers, a Breitling analog clock, and an infotainment system with navigation.

A twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W12 engine delivers up to 552 HP and 479 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels through a 6-speed Tiptronic shiftable automatic transmission. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH takes place in approximately 4.5 seconds with a top speed of nearly 200 MPH. The chassis includes adjustable air suspension, Servotronic speed-sensitive power steering, and power ventilated disc brakes. The seller indicates that the car has been maintained almost exclusively at authorized Bentley dealerships and the most recent service in December 2023 included an oil and filter change, a brake fluid flush, and four new tire pressure monitoring sensors (TPMS).

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, a dashboard cover, custom floor mats, extensive documentation, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “One of the most elegant Super Cars that I have driven.  Immense amounts of power that are incredibly smooth, outstanding handling, and very tasteful styling that stand out in such an elegant way. A very special car with a very special history tied to the preservation of the automobile.”

@palmerd27 Thanks for the comment. I agree, the more I am around this car, the more I love the color and the way the car looks.

Regarding your question about the vacuum hoses and the engine out, please see photos 216 and 217 in the gallery and you will see the dealer invoice for that repair. Bentley covered the repair as a good will gesture. Regarding the suspension, it works perfectly as it should. I hope that helps.

    Happy Holidays!

SOMETHING ABOUT THIS CAR THAT JUST LOOKS RIGHT, SO I HAD TO KICK OFF THE BIDDING.
I NTERESTING COLOR COMBINATION NEVER SEEN BEFORE.
THE ONLY CONCERNI HAVE IS THE THE RUBBER VACUUM HOSES THAT AGE AND CRACK.
Replacing these hoses with the later steel hoses requires and engine OUT to Fix, and a $10-$12k bill.
    How do i know that?
Had to do that on my 2008 Bentley GTC.
Had to also do work on the air suspension, a common expensive problem.
Note to seller; Have theses items problems been recently been fixed??

@badboss Thaks for the question. I have just uploaded photos of the headliner to the gallery. There are no issues with the headliner, and it is in beautiful shape.

I do not see any pictures of the headliner. Is it sagging or has it been addressed?

I have a 2006, with similar low mileage. It is one of my jewels, that i only use when the weather is perfect, and only for recreational driving. These are absolutley amazing cars, that are typically under appreciated, for fear of high maintenance costs. I do not live close to a dealer, and have done all of my minor maintenance and service for this car. Not only is it easy and logical to work on, but it is also inexpensive or on a par with my other cars, for oil, filter and related expenses. Mine has been totally reliable, and other than a sagging headliner, which I also repaired myself, following a You Tube instructional video, the car has been trouble free.
I congradulate in advance, the lucky winner of this auction of this beautiful Bentley.
