Now available for auction is this 2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 convertible finished in Black over a Dark Slate Gray leather/Alcantara interior.  Developed under the union of Daimler-Chrysler and based on the Mercedes-Benz R170 platform, the Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 features the brakes, suspension, and 3.2L supercharged engine from the Mercedes-Benz SLK 32 AMG.  It was the first SRT-branded vehicle to have deviated from a Dodge platform.  This 2005 example was added to the seller’s collection earlier in 2021 and has only been driven a handful of times since.  Now with just over 35k miles showing on the odometer, this rare Crossfire SRT-6 is being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.

This Crossfire comes finished in Black with a matching black convertible soft top. The SRT-6 features a model-specific front fascia and a fixed rear wing in place of the base model’s motorized rear spoiler.  The finish on this example is described to have been nicely preserved and the seller has purchased a third-party appearance protection package including a one-year “glossy” warranty.  CARFAX shows an accident report in 2019, although there is no further information available or signs of persisting damage noted by the seller.  Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery.  This SRT-6 rides on a set of staggered 18″ /19″ wheels dressed in Goodyear tires showing date codes from 2012-2013.

Inside, you will find a Dark Slate Gray interior highlighted by a pair of bucket seats trimmed in Nappa leather with Alcantara suede inserts and embroidered SRT-6 logos. Amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, a factory alarm system, cruise control, power accessories, and an AM/FM/CD stereo paired with a six-speaker Infinity sound system. The seller notes that an upgraded Pioneer Bluetooth radio was installed in April of 2021 and that all gauges and accessories remain fully functional.

Power comes from a Mercedes-Benz AMG M112 supercharged V6 engine producing up to 330 HP and 310 lb.-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed automatic transmission. The SRT-6 also derived its upgraded brakes and suspension setup from the SLK 32 AMG.  The CARFAX report highlights a number of dealer service records dating back as far as 2008.  The last reported service was carried out by Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM of Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey in 2019 at 34,526 miles. Images of the undercarriage are provided in the photo gallery.

This sale will include a set of two keys, owner's manuals, and a clean title.  A rare and unique car with the heart of an AMG Mercedes, this low-mileage Crossfire SRT-6 is sure to catch the interest of any automotive aficionado.

Years ago, I got to drive a non-SRT version for a little over a month. Very well balanced, and a lot of fun!

@goodfriends I purchased an ERAY paint coating thickness gauge and this is the first time i used it. I am far from an expert in measuring paint thickness.
I believe all readings are in mircons. The hood readings range from 191 to 233. The passenger front fender is 160-198. The passenger door is 102-153. Passenger rear quarter is 194-229. Rear deck is 114-200. Driver rear quarter is 101-117. Driver door is one reading at 98 and the balance between 109 and 170. Driver front fender is 145-214. I hope you find this informative.

@Mikecycle6962 : thanks for the quick response. Great looking Crossfire!

  • Mikecycle6962 (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@richjs43 Unfortunately I the dealer who sold me the car did not have any information for me. I purchased a paint gauge and there is a video attached to the offering that demonstrates the thickness of the paint in many different areas on the vehicle. I took multiple readings on the same panel. It is possible this was a minor bumper repair since all the bumpers are clean without road marks.

Does the seller have any details on the accident record…thanks

  • Mikecycle6962 (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@LightningLee Thanks for the info. It’s basically a mini Mercedes but more rare. I hope others realize what a great deal this can be and with low mileage it can go for many years to come. Thanks again.

These cars are the beat bang for the buck you can buy right now. I have a coupe and Roadster SRT and can let everyone know it gets heads spinning, smiles, chats and positive comments. I had a few car aficionados say they never knew they made an SRT Crossfire. And in reality they are very rare. I am rounding the numbers but North America had roughly 1000 Roadsters and 3000 Coupes. Buy them now before everyone catches on. I had a guy tell me I was driving a unicorn :) btw the insurance companies will total them for basic damage so the numbers of actual cars on the road is less than reported
